the owl family

Hello everyone! Hope you are enjoying your weekend.  Yesterday was an exciting day for me. My future
'daughter-in-law' invited me to the big city to go wedding dress and bridesmaid dress shopping with a couple of the bridesmaids (not all could make it).  Anna had already picked out her dress so we got to see her model it.  Oh my goodness, as usual I cried, my eyes just welled with tears, she was gorgeous - breath taking actually! The girls picked out their dresses as well - full length, dark grey - lace on top (sleeveless) and tulle for the skirt - stunning.  Now it's just the waiting game - 10 more months!

Today I have another Christmas card I made.  This one is using a Wild Rose Studio image. When I first saw this image on Simon Stamps website I knew I had to have it.  There is just something about the Wild Rose stamps - they are just so adorable.

I stamped the image onto some white cougar 100 lb card stock using black memento ink.  I pulled out my prismacolour pencils and began to colour.  After die cutting the image I left the die in place and sponged some soft sky around the image.

The sentiment is from PTI - stylish sentiments holiday set, which was stamped on a die cut using PTI - double tag ends die.

For finishing touches I used glitter (of course), white flock for the hat trims, and the Memory Box holly bouquet die.  I cut this twice - one from green paper and once from red.  Inserted the red holly berries into the green die cut.

supplies:
stamp - wild rose studio - owls, PTI - stylish holiday sentiments
paper - studio calico - wonderland, bazzill green, cougar white, SU cherry cobler and misc scraps
ink - prismacolour pencils, black versafine, black memento, SU soft sky
dies - spellbinders ovals and scallop oval, Memory box - holly bouquet, PTI - double tag end
misc - glitter, white flock

I hope you enjoyed my card today.  I love when you visit.  Enjoy your day,

Pauline

Cheers to you!

Good morning everyone! It's going to be a beautiful day here in SW Ontario.  A great way to end my 3 days of vacation, back to work tomorrow :(.  But as I had hoped I did accomplish what I had set out to do for my 3 days off.  I completed one card order (13 cards), and I have 2 more birthday cards to make for my other friend who ordered a total of 20 cards.  I hope to get those 2 cards done today.  Then I just need to work on cards for me to send and for my sale basket at work.

My card today features an Art Impression image.  I just love these images, I mean who doesn't right?  For the last couple of years I have always bought at least one of their holiday images, and they always seem to be a big hit!

After stamping the image I coloured using copics.  I used an MFT stitched rectangle to cut her out.
I needed it a bit narrower, so I placed the image back into the die but in about 1/2" and then ran it through my big shot. I have done this many times, its a great way to stretch your dies, without having to buy more.

After this was put together, I added some white flock to her coat trim and glitter to the wine and holly.
The sentiment was stamped using black versafine, cut out using sb circle die, trimmed it with  gold krylon pen, then adhered it to a small scallop circle.  I added a couple of enamel dots and Voila! I made 4 of these, but they are already gone, so need to make a couple of more.

Supplies:
stamp - Art Impressions - cheers to you #4664
Ink - black memento, black versa fine, copics - E000, E00, E01, E11, E23, E26, E27,R12, R20, R24, R27, R29, R39, R56, YR20, YR21, YR23, YR24, YR27, YG61, YG63, YG67, C0, C1, C7, Black, W3, prismacolour french grey 90% for ground shading
Die - spellbinder - circle and small scallop circle, MFT - die-namics #12,
paper - white cougar 100 lb, scrap dp, SU cherry cobbler
misc - white flock, quickie glue pen, enamel dots, distress glitter - clear rock candy, gold krylon pen

Thanks for the visit today.

I would also like to wish all my fellow American followers a wonderful Thanksgiving. We have so much to be thankful for! In saying that I would like to thank everyone for their continuous support in visiting my blog.  You inspire me to keep on creating!

Hugs

Birdie on a branch

Hello!  I'm back to share another Christmas card with you. This time I'm using this cutie patootie birdie!  Isn't he the cutest?  This is a digital imaged purchased  here.  I have several of her 'birdie' images, just need to find the time to colour them.

I used prisma colour pencils to colour.  For papers I just used some scraps from my basket, and I already had the aqua blue die cut, it was also in my basket of odds and sods and worked perfectly for my card.

For the sentiment I stamped it using black versafine.  The sentiment  is from PTI as are the double end banner dies.

To finish I added some white fun flock to his hat and glitter along the branch to represent glistening snow.

I am off until Thursday, so I plan on getting a big chunk of card orders done.  Between 2 friends I have 24 Christmas cards and 8 birthday, not counting all the cards I need for my sale basket at work, and ones for myself. I really have my work cut out for me.  I need to find some easier cards and mass produce!

Thanks for stopping in today.  Enjoy your weekend. Winter is upon us here in Ontario, snow for some, rain for others, but temperatures down near 0 over night and not much warmer during the day until next weekend when it warms up again.

Little drummer boy

Hello everyone.  Hope your enjoying your weekend.  I tell you is sure doesn't feel like Nov here, 15C (59F), sunny light breeze, just a beautiful fall day.

For my card today, I'm using an image that I have had coloured for a few years.  Yes, I'm thinking maybe 5 years now maybe 6.  This was one of the first images I coloured when I was learning how to colour with my new copics,  he was tucked away for safe keeping and I came across it a few weeks ago and decided I best use him on a card.

I believe the image is from Whiff of Joy.

Sorry I'm unable to list the colours I used, just too long ago and never wrote them down in my book.

Paper is Basic Grey from my scrap bin.  I used a Impression Obsession snowflake die and Memory Box christmas baubles die and added enamel dots to the centers. Sentiment is from Papertrey Ink stamped in black versafine.

It's too bad I didn't have more images coloured up from the past, it sure makes for quick card making!

Enjoy your day, thanks for the visit.

winter bough

Hi everyone.  I think I can come up for air now.  I have all my SCS cards posted for the month, and now I can focus on Christmas cards for me and for my orders, along with several birthday cards that have been requested.  This is also my last month being on the DD Team over at Splitcoaststampers. I can't believe how fast 6 months have gone. It has been a great journey, it has really made me think outside the box at times for each month theme.

Okay, so onto my card.  I'm using today a Power Poppy image from the set Bough Wow Wow! I am entering this card into their monthly challenge for November - Embellish this.

I stamped it onto some white cougar 100 lb c/s then coloured using copics.  I then cut the image out using spellbinders labels twenty-eight. This was then layered onto some Scenic Route & NRN designer paper.

For finishing touches I stamped off another heart (this comes separately in the set - love that!)  and coloured, then used some foam tape to pop it up, added some sequins and glitter, and there you have it!

supplies:
stamp- Power Poppy - Bough Wow Wow
ink - black memento, copics - YG00, YG03, YG05 YG67, G82, BG0000, BG10, BG11, BV0000, BV01, BV02, B60, B63, B66
dies - spellbinders labels twenty-eight
paper - cougar white, bazzill purple, scenic route - winter words, NRN - winter magic
misc - sequins, glitter, foam tape, stitching

Thanks for stopping by today, have a wonderful day.  I'm off to the dentist, then home for a day of stamping! Yay!! (it's raining so it's a perfect day to stamp don't you think?)

Save the date...

Hi everyone.  Just popping in for a quick post.  My son Mark and his fiancee Anna asked me if I would be interested in doing 'save the date' cards to mail out for their upcoming wedding next year. Of course I jumped at the chance.  I have never done invitations etc before, but this is what I came up with.  It was simple to do, now I need to make 45 of them!

I made this a A6 size one sided. Printed on cream cardstock, layered onto kraft c/s. Added a piece of kraft along the top, wrapped lace and twine around, added a pearl to finish it off.

Thanks for your visit

Dear Santa

Good morning everyone and Happy Halloween Day! Can you believe we are at the end of October already? As usual, they are calling for rain starting late this afternoon.  It seems every year it is either raining or snowing, which means very little trick or treaters in our neighborhood.  We live on the edge of town,  most of the kids are driven in from the countryside, but when weather is bad we don't get very many.

As promised I said I would share one of my new Christmas cards.  I'm using an image from Wild Rose Studio called Santa with Rudolph.  I really enjoyed colouring this one!

After stamping the image onto some white cougar 100 lb card stock with memento ink, I pulled out my prisma colour pencils to colour.  I used spellbinders hexagon dies to cut it out, layered it onto a piece of blue card stock cut from the next size up in the hexagon dies, adhered together then did some stitching.

I stamped the sentiment onto a piece of scrap SU brown sugar c/s, then cut it out using a spellbinder tag die.  I also cut another tag out (slightly larger then the sentiment die) using some polka dot vellum from PTI.

Other dies used were MFT die-namics # 13 (fish tale die), and from Memory Box - frosty border.
To finish off I used fun flock for santa's hat and trim, glitter - must use glitter on a Christmas card!, red twine and gold twine, a little gold jingle bell, and I used my white gel pen for some dots on Rudolph's cheeks as well as that bit of highlight on their noses.

Supplies:
stamp: wild rose studio - santa with rudolph
paper: cougar 100lb white, SU brown sugar, Carta bella - winter fun, scrap of blue, PTI polka dot vellum
ink: memento black, versafine black, prisma colour pencils
dies- spellbinders - hexagon, tags,  Memory box - frosty border, MFT - die-namics #13
misc - white flock, glitter, red & gold twine, jingle bell, white gel pen

I hope you found some inspiration here, thanks for stopping in.

Colours of fall

Hi everyone.  Hope you had a good weekend.  Yesterday, Bill and I took a drive up to Arkona, to the Rock Glen Conservation area.  We haven't had a chance to get out on the weekends to catch some of the fall colours, due to either bad weather or other things going on.  Although it's getting late to catch some of the colours, there was a bit left here.

I thought I would share some of the pictures I took.  These are with my little Sony camera, nothing compared to what Bill would take with his Nikon! - Just sayin! :)

There is a small falls there, we didn't go down the bottom, lots of people there and it was getting dark down there since the sun was going down, and a lot of the colours have gone.

Lots of streams and rivers, boardwalks and just beautiful scenery. I even managed to get a couple of Bill!

Thanks for stopping by for a visit. I have a Christmas card to post next, stay tuned!

Angel of Peace

Hi everyone!  I'm just popping in for a quick post tonight before the ALCS Game 6 starts.

I've been working on Christmas cards these past couple of weeks. This card is showcasing a Penny Black image - Angel of Peace.  I bought this last winter but never got a chance to colour her.

I stamped her onto some cougar 100 lb white cardstock using black memento.  I used copics (colours listed below) to colour.  Designer paper is Prima - Nature Garden.

For finishing touches I added my clear wink of stella pen on her wings and some on the leaves.  I added some clear sequins, mauve ribbon, and then for the bottom corner a vellum poinsettia was added.  I love this little poinsettia die from Memory Box, it's so dainty.

Supplies:
stamp - Penny Black - Angel of Peace
ink - black memento, copics- E000, E00, E01, R12, R20, E40, E41, E43, E44, BV000, B000, C00, C01, Co2, C03, C05, V000, YG61, YG63, G20, G94, RV19
paper - Prima - Nature Garden, cougar white, bazzill mauve
dies - Spellbinder A2 matting basics A, Memory Box - small blooming poinsettia
misc - seam binding ribbon, pearl, sequins, wink of stella pen

Sorry for the quick post, but I have to go and cheer on the Toronto Blue Jays!

Thanks for stopping by,
Pauline

Music Man

Hi everyone!  What a week it has been.  I've been on vacation this week, and can't believe it's coming to and end on Monday, then back to work on Tuesday.  For our Thanksgiving, my son Mark and his Fiancee Anna invited us up to their home along with her family.  It was so nice to meet her parents and her siblings - 6 of the 7 were there. Such a fun and loving family, lots of laughs - which is always good for the soul!

The rest of the week we worked around the house, cleaning closets, garage and storage areas, took a lot of stuff to the Goodwill. - (this is why I haven't posted all week).  It was hard work especially in the crawl spaces where you can only crouch, no room to stand with being under the eves - really hard on the lower back, which after 2 days of doing this we laid low on Thursday.  Today we worked in putting all the lawn furniture away, cleaning out flower pots etc.  It's always sad when this gets done because you know what is around the corner - WINTER - which means SNOW!  Actually it is suppose to snow tonight in areas an hour north and east of us, just a chance of rain for us over night.

On Oct 12 it was Mark's 31st birthday.  I was stumped on what to do for a card for him.  I know he loves his guitar, and then remembered I had this MO Manning digital image I purchased a few years back. My friend  Carla used this image a few years ago, and I fell in love with the colours she used, so I basically coloured mine the same.

This is the final result:

I coloured the image using copics, but I was in a rush to get this done last Saturday before we went to visit them on Sunday, and never kept track of my colours.  I stamped my background music notes - (Penny Black background stamp)in black on a piece of kraft cardstock.

Finished off with some twine, Stamping bella dots as well as a musical die from Memory Box.

I hope to get some more stamping and colouring done over the next 3 days - I have to start on my Christmas cards - time is slipping away fast.

Thanks for the visit, have a wonderful day!

snowflakes sparkles

Hello everyone.  I have another Christmas card to share with you today.  I must say when I saw this card I was totally inspired.  Leslie has a unique style, I can always spot her cards as I'm strolling through my Feedly posts without even looking at names.

As I was saying her card inspired me to make this.  I'm using a Memory Box snowflake die my friend
Nancy so kindly lent me.

To make the  back ground I used the 'smooshing' technique using distress inks.  This was then cut  using a MFT stitch rectangle die.  I then placed my snowflake die where I want it and ran it through my big shot.  I also cut a piece of silver glitter paper using the same die.  I then inserted the silver snowflake into the area where I cut out the snowflake on my main piece.

Stamped the sentiment using black versafine ink.  Added some die cut snowflakes using silver glitter paper and some silver and clear sequins.  I popped up my main panel by adding a piece of fun foam cut slightly smaller than my panel.

Stamps: PTI - In the meadow
Dies - Memory box - snowflake ribbon, MFT die-namics blueprints # 12
Ink - distress mermaid lagoon, cracked pistachio, black versafine
paper - white cougar 100 lb
misc - sequins, fun foam

Thanks for stopping by today.  To all my fellow Canadian followers - Have a wonderful Thannksgiving weekend!

Take care,
Pauline

First Christmas card of 2015

Happy Saturday everyone.  Well it sure feels like fall in my neck of the woods. Cold (well not freezing cold, but not far from it, it's currently 43 F) and with strong winds, gloomy, and rain in the forecast for today and tomorrow - a good weekend to get some stamping done!

I'm off shortly to go out to the orchard to get some apples and squash, then going to make a pot of apple squash soup, I've had it before and it is delicious, yum, yum!

Okay so on to my card.  I have fallen in love with a new line of stamps - Wild Rose Studio.  They have the most 'cutest' images ever.  I couldn't resist a few and this is one of them: Mouse and Poinsettia.

I coloured the image using prismacolour pencils.  Used a MFT die to cut out the image, left the die in place then sponged some light pink ink around the edges.

Designer paper is by Wild Rose Studio - Painted Poinsettias.  I layered a die cut using the same papers to lay in behind the image.

To finish off I added some white flock to the mouse's hat, gold glitter to the centers of the poinsettia's, as well as a couple of Stamping Bella 'glitter dots' in the corner.

I just finished my cards for the October Dirty Dozen theme last night, so now I can concentrate on doing some more Christmas cards over the next couple of weeks.

Supplies:
Stamp - Wild Rose Studio - Mouse and Poinsettia
ink- black memento, prismacolour pencils & gamsol,
paper - cougar white, dusty rose, SU Mellow Moss, Wild rose studio - painted poinsettias
die- memory box - winterflake frame, MFT- die-namics blueprints 12
misc - stamping bella glitter dots, gold glitter, quickie glue pen, white flock

Thanks for stopping by today, have yourself a wonderful day.  See you again real soon!

Wishing

Hello everyone, and happy Saturday to all! Isn't this time of year wonderful? Cooler night temperatures, as well as early morning, and then the day warms up to low to mid 70's, the sun warming your face - ah... a perfect day.

This past Monday, Sept 21 my daughter turned 29 - OMG yes 29, she is my baby.  I can't believe where the years have gone.  She loves sweet images, so I just received my Purple Onion order a few weeks back and I knew I wanted to colour up this image for her card.

Is this not the sweetest image ever? I just love this cute mouse.  The image is called Wishing - a Stacey Yakula image from Purple Onion.

I stamped the image onto cougar 100 lb white cardstock using black memento ink, then coloured using primsacolour pencils and blended with gamsol.

I cut the image out using spellbinders square die, then layered this onto a piece of blue bazzill c/s, then stitched around the edges.

Designer paper is from Kathy Davis - journeys. I wanted to stamp a little sentiment of some sort, but nothing big to take away from the image. I found the perfect sentiment in my PTI- mixed messages set, that fit perfectly on this little die cut tag.

Finished off with some seam binding ribbon, glitter and a couple of dots on her cheek using my white pen.

Supplies:
stamp - Purple Onion - Wishes by Stacey Yakula, PTI - mixes messages
ink - black memento, black versafine, prismacolour pencils & gamsol
paper - cougar white 100 lb, blue bazzill - starmist, Kathy Davis - journeys
dies - spellbinders square , back to basic tags
misc - glitter, seam binding ribbon, gold floss, marvy white pen

Thanks for stopping by today, I hope I have encouraged you to do some stamping. Have a wonderful day.
