Bellariffic sketch #24

Hello to all my cyber friends.  Can you believe this is the last day of November?  Wow, this year has flown by hasn't it?

You are probably here today for the Bellariffic challenge, so lets get to it.

This week we had a sketch to follow,  a fairly easy one at that.  Yes, I'm still plugging away at my Christmas cards, so what better image to fit this weeks sketch are the circle images.  I choose to use  polar bear circle.

Starting with bella's bestest paper, I stamped the polar bear using black memento.  I pulled out my copics to colour the image, shading was done with pencils and gamsol.

Designer paper is Memory Box Yuletide - (you probably noticed the candy canes are going the wrong way on my card - oops, I cut it wrong).  I must say Memory Box as the most prettiest papers, I have a hard time using them! I used a snowflake cuttlebug folder for the green square piece and then lightly rubbed my versamagic white ink pad over the embossed area - because the green is a light colour paper it's hard to see the white.

Glitter, glossy accents (nose), ribbon and baubles where my finishing touches.

For some more great inspiration, hop over to bloggabella and check out all the entries for this week.  Leave a comment for a chance to win $10 in bella bucks.

Our challenge next week is create a tag.  It can be a tag on a card, or just a gift tag - use your creativeness, then send Emily your submission by thursday night for it to appear on Bloggabella on friday.  This also gives you a chance to win $20 in bella bucks.

Are you a big Uptown Girl fan? Well I will be back tomorrow with a new card to share with you, featuring one of the newest uptown girl images.

Also, Elaineabella has set up a challenge over on Splitcoast Stampers.  There is some great prizes, you can read all about it here.

Well that about wraps it up for today.  Enjoy your weekend.

See you tomorrow, Pauline

Under the mistletoe

I'm running behind again this week with my posts, but I do have one for you tonight. Still working on my holiday cards, give me about another 2 weeks and I should be done my orders.

I just love the Uptown girl collection, have them all, but seldom seem to grab them to colour. My card today is showcasing "Uptown girl Eve - under the missletoe."

I'm really smitten with how this turned out. I wanted to do her in another colour other then red, I was thinking a deep royal/navy blue, but couldn't find any papers that would work, so I decided on this tone instead.

I stamped her on bella's bestest paper and coloured  her with copics and shading around her done with prismacolour pencils. The colours I used for her dress are: BG70, BG72, BG75, skin E000, 00, 01, R20,
mistletoe - G94, R27, belt - black & C3, hair E15, 17, 18 & 29.  Pencils used are: Jade Green PC1021, and a very little bit of Peacock blue PC1027 - you don't need much of this because it is very rich in pigment.

After cutting her out using an oval s/b die, I sponged some versamagic oasis green around her very lightly.
Layered this onto a piece of Bazzill - Hazel which was cut  using the s/b Floral Ovals.

Designer paper is MME - Cowboy -( love all the soft shades of blues, greys and greens in this pad.) The base card is a piece of Bazzill - Lagoon,

Finished off with glitter on her dress, and  some white flock on the trim of her dress.  I added some corner bling -  from Want 2 Scrap.

I hope you like her as much as I do! Thanks for stopping by for a visit.

Till next time......

mister penguin

Hi everyone.  I want to wish all my American blogging friends and wonderful Thanksgiving. For all you black Friday shoppers, I hope you got some great deals.

We have some more exciting news! There will be  2 more bella babes joining us officially on Dec 1/12.  They are both super talented gals. You can check out there blogs:  Amanda Reed - Cards, cats and copics
and Angela Thomas- Sparkle & Bling.
Okay, lets get down to business.  This weeks challenge was to do a holiday wishes/winter card.  I struggled with this, this week because I had so many winter images and I couldn't decide on what to colour.

I narrowed it down to a few and decided on a new image from Emily's last release called Mister Penguin goes for a Ride.

As always, I stamped the image on bella's bestest paper and the coloured it up using copics.  I sponged  around the image leaving the die in place with versamagic sea breeze.  The image was then layered onto a piece of silver mirra c/s.  Designer paper is from MME called 12 days of Christmas - (last years).

I was going to stamp some snowflakes in the sky but was almost afraid to in case I didn't like it. I noticed I had some rub-ons laying on my desk and  thought I'll give that  try. The rub-ons are silver, it is so pretty in real.  I added some white flock to the trim on Ramona's hood, hero arts prisma glitter to the tree and diamond dust to the ground for the snow. Finished off with some cherry cobbler seam binding ribbon.

Stop over at bloggabella to see all the other beautiful cards created for our holiday theme.  Leave a comment for a chance to win $10 in bella bucks.

Next week our challenge is Sketch #24.  Get creative, then email Emily your card by thursday night, so we can post it on bloggabella. By doing this, you have a chance to win $20 in bella bucks.

That's it for me for today.  Enjoy your weekend, see you again real soon.

The happy family

Hi - I'm back today with another Holiday card to share with you as promised.  I'm using some new rubbah again - The happy family - is this adorable or what? Way to cute eh?

This cute  family was stamped on bella's bestest paper then I coloured using copics. After cutting it out using spellbinders long rectangles, I sponged some blue ink around the image (again not sure what colour the blue is, I just grabbed a blue dauber).  The red polka-dot paper is from the 6x6 Winter Wonderland paper pack from MME. It was cut using labels 22 spellbinder die. I also ran a piece of white cardstock through the cuttlebug using a Sizzix snowflake embossing folder. This stamp also comes with it's own sentiment -"from our house to yours", so I made a little tag with it. I stamped it on white c/s then punched it out with an oval punch.  I punched a tiny hole at one end and ran some gold twine through and tied it around the bow.

Finishing touches: white polka-dot chiffon ribbon, gold twine, hero arts prisma glitter, diamond dust and for a bit of special effects I added some Sea Sprite fine glass glitter  - oh this stuff is so pretty in real.  Its from Art Glitter, I think I've had this for quite some time.

Thanks for stopping in. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Sketch #23 and some news

Hi everyone, sorry I haven't been around this week, just too much on my plate these days, busy time of year approaching.

Some exciting news first:  We have a new BABE joining the team on Dec 1.  Let me introduce to you Kim O'Connell.   Kim is so excited that she decided to have some blog candy giveaway.  You can read all about it here.

As you know it is Bellariffic friday, which means another challenge, and this week we had a sketch to follow.  We are at sketch #23- can you believe we only have 2 more sketches to go till the end of the year? This year has flown  by hasn't it? Here is the sketch:

For my image today I'm using one of the new Ramona's - this one is called
Ramona LOVES to glide. I must say these new stamps are awesome to work with - already mounted (cling)  and they stamp wonderfully, and such a pretty colour - robin egg blue.

Is she not adorable in her pretty mauve/purple coat?  As always I stamped her on bella's bestest paper and then coloured her using copics. The colours for her coat are BV0000, BV000, and BV01 and V01 for her mitts, scarf and sections of her leggings. I cut her out using an oval s/b die, left the die in place and sponged some blue around her, not sure what colour blue because I just used what was on the sponge dauber already.

Designer paper is Memory Box. I embossed a piece of purple c/s using a cuttlebug embossing folder-(the piece directly under Ramona on the right side). To make the white border I started with a 4 3/4 x 4 3/4 white c/s and used the SU corner and border punches. I always try this on scrap copy paper first (cheaper than c/s) because sometimes you might have to make it a tad but smaller for the punches to line up as you punching around the page.  Once I get it down correctly, then I use the c/s.  I think this one ended up being 1/16" smaller than 4 3/4 to make it work evenly.

To finish off I used lots of Hero Arts glitter for the snow around her, diamond dust for the ice crystals on the ground.  I wanted to fancy up her coat so I used 3 mini pearls for her buttons - so cute eh?, and white flock for the trim on her hood. Also the sketch shows some kind of embellishment along the oval- so I used 3 sequin snowflakes.

Please stop over at Bloggabella and check out all the other entries for this week.  Be sure to leave a comment for a chance to wil $10 in bella bucks.

Next week's challenge is HOLIDAY WISHES/ WINTER CARD. With everyone working on their Holiday cards, I hope to see lots of entries next week.  Just email your card to Emily by thursday night to be included in the showdown on Bloggabella on friday.

I'll be back tomorrow with another Holiday card, and this one is so cute!  Thanks for your visit today.

What do you get.....

when you cross a Penguin with a Deer?  You get a Penguideer! LOL.  My new rubber landed Wednesday night,  and since I didn't get around to doing my friday challenge card yet I decided  to colour up something new and this little guy was so adorable I new I had to add colour to him.

Our theme this week was add snow to your card, and I did just that.  I started by stamping him on
bella's bestest paper then coloured him using copics.  After cutting out the image I left the die in place and sponged SU soft sky around him, then layered it onto a piece of cherry cobbler cut using a small scallop die.  My layout was Sweet Sunday Sketch #171.

I used a SU embossing folder for the green strip, added some snowflakes using soft sky ink to the blue background.  For my snow I used lots of glitter all over the image, and for the ground cover I used diamond dust.  I also added  a snowflake to the top left corner(it needed something, it was just too bare), this is a MFT snowflake die and a bella dot (sorry can't find the item to link it to) was added to the center.

So there you have it - a cute Penguideer! Now be sure to stop over at Bloggabella to see what everyone else created this week.  Leave a comment to win $10 in bella bucks.

Next weeks challenge we are back to a sketch. If you get a chance to play along, you can email Emily your card by thursday night.  By playing along you get a chance to win $20 in bella bucks.
That about wraps it up, see you real soon.  Have a great weekend.

Jinglebella

Hi- As I'm waiting with anticipation for my new rubbah to arrive (yes, Emily is shipping this week- woohoo) I dug out some of my older favourite Christmas images.

I'm sharing with you Jinglebella.  Doesn't she look adorable in her red Santa outfit - Hmmm if I only looked that good!

I stamped her on bella's bestest paper with black memento ink.  I then coloured her using copics and used prismacolour pencils to do some sharing around her.

After she was cut out using an oval spellbinder die, I left the die in place and sponged some antique linen around her.  I then layered the image onto a piece of black c/s cut from Grand Decorative Ovals One - using the smallest die.

Designer paper is by Authentique - Bundle (thanks to Carla - love it!).

Used glitter, white flock and ribbon to finish this off.

Just a reminder for friday's challenge card - use snow on your card- easy peasy - just be sure to have your card (email) to Emily by thursday night to be included in the showdown on bloggabella on friday.

That's it for me - heading off to bed.  Thanks for stopping in, see you back here on Friday.

Christmas Bough

Hi- just a quick post to share another Christmas card with you.

My card today features an image from a stamp set by Flourishes called Christmas Classics.

I stamped the image on papertrey white c/s using black memento, then coloured using Copics.
I then cut it out using spellbinders marvelous squares, left the die in place and sponged some antique linen distress ink around the image.  Layered this onto a piece of sage shadow also cut from the same die set.  DP is Memory Box, which is then layered onto a piece of cherry cobbler c/s.

Added glitter and gold pearls for accents.  This was a very fast card, I think I will make a few more.

Hope your enjoying your Sunday.  Thanks for stopping by.

Till next time.......

The Choir

Hi blogging friends.  Did everyone survive Halloween night?  We only had 3 little ones, 2 princesses, and a little monster - the numbers are falling, last year we had around 10 and the year before that around 20.
Of course the weather didn't help either- cold, misty rain, just downright yukky!

Well you know it's Friday, which means another challenge - and this weeks challenge was a sketch.
Here is the sketch we had to follow:

Pretty simple, but I had to change it up a bit.
I made my image an oval image on a square rather than a square on a square - but hey, it all works out in the end.

For my image I'm using 'the choir' a Christy Croll image in rubber at Stamping Bella. Don't these guys make an adorable choir?

Image was stamped on bella's bestest paper and then coloured using prismacolour pencils and gamsol.
I cut it our using an oval s/b die and then layered this onto a piece of cherry cobbler c/s cut using a scallop s/b oval die. The green layer behind is pear pizzazz and I ran this through my cuttlebug using a Tim Holtz sizzix snowflake embossing folder. Designer paper is from Echo Park - Seaons' Greetings.

Finishing touches - glitter, white flock on the trim of the hat, and glossy accents on the noses.

To see all the other beautiful cards created this week, be sure to stop over at Bloggabella and check it out.
Leave a comment for a chance to win $10 in bella bucks.

Your going to like our next challenge for next week.
It is ADD SNOW TO YOUR CARD - how fun and easy is that.  A great way to work on some of your Christmas cards. If you get a chance to play along - which I hope you do - you can email Emily your card by Thursday night to be included on Bella's blog on friday, and a chance to win $20 in bella bucks.
