Thinking of you....

Welcome to another Bellariffic friday ladies.  So glad it's friday - it's a 3 day weekend for us, and it looks like a very hot one at that.

For today's challenge we had a sketch to follow - sketch #13.  I love sketches to follow, it makes card making so much easier don't you think? Without the sketch it can take me a couple of hours on top of colouring my image just to figure out how I'm going to put it all together.

Anyway, this week I used Bessie Lulu.  Here she is:

I stamped her on bella's bestest paper using black memento ink.  She was coloured using copics and then I shaded using prismacolour pencils and gamsol.  After cutting her out I sponged some versamagic spring pansy around her with the die in place. Paper is Basic Grey - Kioshi - love the purples in this collection. Can you tell purple is one of my favourite colours?

For the sentiment I used 'thinking of you' from the Uptown girl Winnie.  I moved it up onto my image rather than below like in the sketch.  Finished with some Martha Stewart  purple seam binding ribbon, glossy accents on the centers of the flowers, and glitter on her dress.

Want a chance to win some Bella bucks? Then stop over at Bloggabella and see what the other babes and sistahs did for this week, and leave a comment.  It's that easy!

Next week our challenge is add embossing to your card - so you can either use embossing powder to emboss or dry embossing - stenciling- the choice is yours.  Email your card to Emily by thursday night for your card to be on Bloggabella and a chance to win some bella bucks.

Thanks for stopping in today, hope you all have a wonderful weekend.  Enjoy!

Funky plants

Hey, it's Wednesday which means we are half way through the week.  Looking forward to our 3 day long weekend as we celebrate Canada Day on July 1.

For today's card, I'm using another "new to me image" from my last order.  If you don't already own this image, I suggest you get it.  It's a great image that can be used for many occasions, and it was fairly quick to put together.

The image is called Funky plants hanging block.  I stamped it on bella's bestest paper using memento black in.  Copics where my choice medium this time around, and then I sponged some tattered rose distress ink around the image after it was cut out leaving the die in place. It was then layered onto a piece of blush c/s cut out using the floral ovals s/binder die.  Paper is by Pink Paislee - butterfly garden. My base was cut using Grand Rectangle Scallop.

I finished it off with some glitter, glossy accents on the centers of the flowers and a bow using some silk ribbon.

Do you have your card done for our challenge this friday?  You still have time - email your card to Emily by thursday night.  Our theme this week is a sketch (see friday's post).

Thanks for stopping by today, see you back here on friday.

One wonderful life

Hi - hope you had a great weekend.  Keeping on the same theme as friday's challenge card - I've been asked to make some wedding cards for friends, so here is one that I did a couple of weeks ago.  She insisted on black, grey & white!

Sentiment is by Justrite Stamps - dies used are all by Spellbinders.  Paper is by Yellow Bicycle.
Finished it off with some pearls, black rhinestones and white satin ribbon.

I was kind of skeptical, thinking it was too much black for a Wedding card, but my friend loved it and so did others.

Thanks for stopping by today, see you again real soon, I have another card almost done!

Beautiful bride

Can you believe it's Friday already, which means another Bellariffic challenge.  This weeks challenge was all about your favourite 'girl' image.  Well I had a hard time deciding because I love them all.
But, since I received my latest release order last week I had some new Uptown images that were just screaming at me to be coloured.  Sooooo.. with summer here, means lots of weddings, I pullled out
Uptown Girl Brigitte the Bride, and oh she is beautiful!!

I wanted to keep this pretty simple and elegant as a bride should be.  I started by stamping her on bella's bestest paper, coloured her hair and bouquet with copics, then cut her out using an oval spellbinder die. I then layered this onto another piece of white c/s cut out using spellbinder floral ovals.  My base is using Grand Labels Twenty Three spellbinder die.  DP is by Teresa Collins - sweet afternoon.

I finished this off with some pink satin ribbon, pearls, and lots and lots of glimmer mist glitter. So what do you think?

Be sure to stop over at Bloggabella to see what the other babes and sistahs have done.  Leave a comment and you have a chance to win some bella bucks!

Next week we are back to a sketch.  We would like you to play along, all you have to do is colour up a bella image, use the sketch layout provided below, then email your card to Emily by thursday night. See simple - and you also will have a chance to win some bella bucks!

Thanks for stopping by today, have yourself a wonderful weekend!

New rubbah in the house!

Woohoo, gotta love when you get a package of new rubbah! It arrived on Friday, but I had a busy weekend, and never got a chance to dive into it until tonight.

It seems like I'm hitting a mental block lately, time to change things up a bit, so instead of colouring I thought I would do some old fashion stamping.

I'm using a new image from Emily's latest release called Grandma's Gramaphone by new artist Rheea.

I started by stamping the image on watercolour paper using Archival Ink Sepia.  I then added distress inks - antique linen, frayed burlap, vintage photo, walnut stain, then spritzed with water.  It looked to plain, so I did some stamping on the image using Eclectric mini bubble, mesh and french script with frayed burlap. I then spritzed some water over that - love the look of the water dropplets when it dries.

Designer paper used is some Cosmo Cricket from 2006 - I can't believe I've had this that long! I add some vintage photo and walnut stain around the edges. Finished off with some Bella dots.

It was not what I an visioned when I started, but I think it turned out okay.

Just a reminder for our challenge this week,- it's all about the girls - that's right colour  up one of your favourite girl images, email your card to Emily by thursday night.

Thanks for stopping by, see you again soon....

Another Framed Floral

Hi everyone! Welcome to another bellariffic friday challenge.  This week our challenge is to pick a sketch from one of the past 11 sketches we have done so far this year. Well, I didn't need to think too hard on which one to pick, because after making my card for the sketch challenge  a couple of weeks ago, I knew I would use that sketch over and over again, sketch #11 it is.

Since I love flowers, and flowers are great for any occasion, I wanted a few more quick cards that I can mass produce. So, I pulled out Paula's Framed Floral set again and this time I coloured up the Iris's.

Purple/mauve is one of my favourite colours.  And with colouring Iris's, well they have to be purple. The most difficult of this is, what shade of purples.  Their are pink purples, mauve purples, blue purples - getting the picture? So I went through some of my Basic Grey paper packs looking for some purple tones and came across this paper from the Wisteria pack.  I added some blue  and pink tones to some of the iris's to match the paper.  Of course, I started by stamping it on bella's bestest paper and coloured the base layer with copics BV000, then the rest of the colour was done with pencils and blended out with gamsol.

For the middle strip I used a piece of white floral lace.  I also used the Spellbinder Fleur de lis square die for the layer underneath the iris's.  Added some glossy accents to the centers of the flowers and then did my signature stamp by adding a couple of tiny pearls.  It seemed like it was lacking something so I added a small bow using some mauve chiffon ribbon.  Now it doesn't look quite that pinky in real life, but it does match some of the flowers.

Next weeks challenge is a fun one - Ink up the Girls! and hopefully I will have my new rubbah next week, and can colour up a new Uptown Girl!! You know the drill, if you play along, email Emily your card by thursday night for it to appear on Bloggabella and also a chance to win some bella bucks!

Thanks for visiting today, and have yourself a wonderful weekend!

Oodles of love

Hi!  After seeing Emily's latest release, I thought I better get colouring up some of the images from the previous release that haven't seen ink.

For today's card I coloured up an Uptown Girl called Lucille sends her Love.

I wanted to colour the hearts another colour other than red, so I found this pretty paper from Prima called Almanac- peach and black - perfect.  I began by stamping her on bella's bestest paper using black memento.  She was coloured using copics and shaded with pencils and gamsol. The nice thing about the Uptown girls is most come with their own sentiment, which I used.  Since these images are so long, my 6x6 paper didn't quite make the length, so I added a couple pieces of punched black scallops along the bottom - I used an EK Success scallop punch to do this.

Finishing touches - lots of glitter and some black lace.

This weeks theme is a sketch challenge-  colour up one of Bella's designs, then you get to pick your favourite sketch layout.  Choose from any of the 11 sketches we did this year, then email your card to Emily by thursday night.

Thanks for stopping by, see you Friday!

Filling Daddy's shoes

Happy Friday everyone!  So what did you think of Emily's release yesterday over at Stamping Bella!
Pretty awesome stuff don't you think?  I couldn't wait to get home yesterday to fill my cart. Now it's a waiting game until I get them.

For the challenge this week our theme was 'Masculine'.  Well we all know how difficult that can be - at least I always seem to struggle with it.  When Emily asked me to colour up some images for the sneak Peak this week, one of them was this cute guy called Daddy's Shoes - ( another wonderful image by Mo Manning in rubber ), I knew I was going to use this card for my challenge today.

Is he not the cutest little boy? He was coloured with copics and shading done with pencils & blended with gamsol.  I based my colouring on paper from Basic Grey called Oliver.  After he was coloured I cut the imaged down to size and then sponged some distress pumice ink around the edges.

I finished off with some ribbon and some bella dots - I used glitter coal dots.

I'm sure there is lots of eye candy over on Bloggabella, so why don't you stop by and check out the entries, as well as leave a comment for a chance to win some bella bucks! Wouldn't that come in handy - just in time with the release yesterday.

Next week our challenge is a sketch - but this time the sketch is your choice.  You can pick from any of the sketches we have done since the beginning of the year till now. To play along, just email Emily your card by thursday night for it to appear on Bloggabella. I can't seem to upload the attachment for all the sketches you can choose from, but  maybe one of the other babes might be able to make it work, otherwise you can scroll through bloggabella or the babes blogs for the last 11 sketches.

Thanks for stopping by today, and have yourself a wonderful weekend.

See you soon....

A sneak peak for you

Well, I'm sure you heard that Emily is coming out with a release this week, and if you have been checking out bloggabella, you would of seen some sneak peak images Emily has posted.

So today, I'm sharing a new Mo image that will be part of the release. Not sure of the proper name for this image, but they were a joy to colour.

I coloured the image with copics and did the shading with prismacolour pencils and gamsol. I wanted her dress to be red, so was checking through some of my new 6x6 paper packs and came across this paper from Basic Grey called Shine On.  After cutting the image down to size, I sponged some versamagic wheat around the edges.  Finished off with some lace, glitter and some red gingham ribbon.

I know there have been a few more sneak peaks out there by some of the other 'babes', so be sure to check them out.

Don't forget about our 'manly' challenge this friday for that special guy in your life. Email your card to Emily by thursday night to have your card appear on Bloggabella.

Thanks for stopping by today,

Framed Florals

Hey, it's Friday and you know what that means - it's Bellariffic Friday, and for today we have a  sketch challenge.  I love the sketch we had to use this week, and I have the perfect image for it.

As you know, I love flowers - well I pulled out Paula's Framed Florals to use today.

Started by stamping the image on bella's bestest paper, then coloured with copics - R81, R83, R85, R98, G24.  I trimmed up close to the border then sponged versamagic wheat around the edge. Designer paper is by Memory Box.  Finished off with glitter and some silk ribbon.  A very pretty card for any occasion.
Another for my stash, or maybe a card for my sale basket at Paper Pickle?

If you would like to be inspired, why not hop over to Bloggabella, check out whats posted and leave a comment for a chance to win some bella bucks.

Hey, did you hear the news????  Emily has another gignormous release sometime next week. You can check out the sneak peaks over on Bloggabella.
