Beautiful Flower 2

Hello!  I  hope everyone had a good weekend.  Today's card is show casing one of the flowers from the Simon Says Stamp - Beautiful Flowers 2 set.

I stamped the image in distress antique linen for a no-line image onto some Strathmore mixed media paper..  I started out by watercolouring using Daniel Smith watercolours ( I bought a couple of the watercolour palette from SSS - a Debby Hughes Palette and Shari Carroll Palette, so I could try these out, very inexpensive only a couple of bucks for each. Once coloured to where I was happy with it, I switched over to Polychromos pencils for some added detail.

Using an oval die, I cut out the flower, left the die in place and sponged inks around the edge.  This was then layered onto a scallop oval die cut from a soft coral/pink card stock.

Designer paper is from Mintay - Birdsong. The papers in this pad are all gorgeous.  So hard to pick what to use and even harder to even into them lol.  I layered some cheese cloth in behind the image, and also cut out a small butterfly from the piece that I trimmed off.

Added some silk ribbon and bow, added the butterfly and some clear crystal droplets on the leaves. In the center of the flower I added a little bit of my gold wink of stella pen.

Not sure what I will use this card for, but will probably put a Mother's Day verse inside and added to my sale basket at work.

I always appreciate your visit, wishing you a fabulous day!

Pauline

Mandy's flower

First of all I have some sad news to share for those that live in my surrounding area.  Our local stamping store 'THE PAPER PICKLE', is closing it's doors on Feb 23, 2019 after 15 wonderful years. I'm sure I can vouch for most of the stampers/scrapbookers that would visit Kims' store, it will be surely missed. So many great memories, lots of laugh and even tears.  I've made some great friends through teaching here, and hopefully our paths will continue to cross at some point. Wishing Kim all the best for whatever the future holds!

For my card, I'm back today to share another card from the Simon Says - Mandy's flower set with you.  Remember this card I posted a few weeks ago, well I had a couple of this image stamped out, so when I received my new Polychromos pencils (which I was just dying to try them out), I coloured up this image. again.

After colouring, I fussy cut it out and then layered it onto a piece of pink cardstock which was cut from a Flourishes die - Victorian oval template.

I stamped the sentiment onto some white c/s, cut fish tale ends and then added some fun foam and popped it up. Added clear wink of stella to the rose and leaves and then a few clear sequins to finish off.

Have a wonderful day!

Die - Flourishes - victorian oval template

Sending Birthday wishes

Good morning everyone!  I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas.

Today, I'm sharing a Birthday card I made  - my stash has been depleted, so I need to replenish.  Since it's my Birthday today, what better way to do a post to show you one of my latest creations.

Image and papers are from Simon Says Stamps - I believe this was one of the Simon Says Card kits.
I coloured the image using copics, then fussy cut it. The layer behind the image is from Papertrey Ink - Shape Shifters - Circle #1.  I left some of the 'v's in place while removing others.  I layered a piece of paper I received in the kit behind the circle.

For the sentiment I cut Simon Says 'sending' die from black cardstock 3x and layered them together.
I then used Simon Says Stamptember Tiny words 'happy birthday', stamped on white c/s with black versafine. I trimmed the sentiment down to fit under the 'sending'.

Popped the flower up with foam tape, used my wink of stella clear pen for some shimmer on the flowers then added sequins. I also add a small bow on the stem of the flower using some twine.

Well that's it for me for today. Wishing you a wonderful day!

Mum floral frame

Hello! Well here we are at the start of another week.  This summer is flying by don't you think?
I'm back today to share a card I made for my daughter to give to her group's summer student.  At work we have summer students that come in from May to mid-end of Aug.  Karen asked if I would make a card for the dept to sign, and she specifically said it has to have pink in it and say 'thank you'.

Here are the details:

I'm using Simon Says Mum Floral Frame.  I cut it out of a 4.25 square white c/s. I took another piece the same size and sponged some distress oxide. I used spun sugar, pickled raspberry and tumbled glass.

I then added some foam tape to the back of the frame and popped it up over the distress background.
I was going to just layer this onto another piece of white, but how boring would that be?  So I pulled out Simon Says Beautiful flower stamp, inked it up with some spun sugar and stamped it diagonally on the card base.  I then adhered the frame on top.  For the sentiment I used Papertrey Ink Inside & out Thank You set and embossed it on a piece of black c/s using white embossing powder.  Once heat set I cut the front end on an angle, added some foam tape and adhered to the card.

To finish off I added some clear sequins.

Wishing you a wonderful day!

Spring showers brings May flowers!

I'll be so glad to see Sunday arrive.  We have had nothing but constant rain 24hrs a day since Tues! It's been gloomy and damp as you can well imagine. Rivers are running over their banks in some areas, the ground is so saturated, there is just no where for the rain to go. We really need to see the sun! And besides this weather is putting a real damper on our spring birding! (just saying :) )

So with that being said, I thought I would share something bright and cheerful!  I loved how this turned out as I made 4 of them, and one of them says "MOM" on the front rather than sending birthday wishes.

I embossed the image onto some Strathmore Mixed Media vellum surface paper ( thanks Leslie for mentioning this, it is beautiful paper to watercolour on)using white embossing powder and then watercoloured the image and background using my Zig Clean colour markers.  Image is from Simon Says - Spring Flowers.  I then cut out the image out using MFT x-stitch rectangle die.  The pink paper was cut using one of the dies from MFT - die-namics blueprints 27.

I cut the 'sending' from black cardstock twice and then adhered together to give it a bit of stability and thickness.  Die is from Simon Says as well.

I then stamped 'birthday wishes' using black versafine.

To finish off I added some sequins and coloured the flower with my clear wink of stella pen.

I have some more Mother's Day cards to make so might make a few in different colours.

Thanks for your visit, enjoy your day!
