Lifetime of love

Happy Friday and another 3 day weekend for Canadians. It's the Civic Holiday here  on Monday.  No plans for me, just love hanging around the house and outdoors.  Maybe I'll make a few cards, all depends on the weather.

I was asked a couple of weeks ago by my friend at work to make a 60th anniversary card for her In-laws, and this is what I came up with.

Not much explaining on this one, just a lot of die cutting.  The rolled flower is made with a MFT die, glittered the edges after it was made, added some glitter and then popped a pearl in the middle.

For the '60' I cut the numbers 3 x's.  2 out of card stock and the top layer from gold glitter paper, then glued all 3 together to give it some dimension.

supplies:
Stamp - Justrite - ever after antique labels one
paper -  cream linen, Graphic 45 - baby & bride collection
dies - spellbinders - A2 filigree delight, MFT - rolled flower die, Quickutz - Jacqueline alphabet set
misc - silk ribbon, leaves from Wild Rose, pearls.

Thanks for your visit today, have a wonderful day!

In Nature

Hi there! Here we are at the beginning of another week, and a very hot one at that. The weather has been brutal ever since last thursday, temperatures into the low 100's.  It's been very hot a humid and not much in relief until the weekend.

I finally finished my 29 card order and another 6 card order late last night.  Everything is packaged up and ready to deliver at work tomorrow.  Most of the 29 card order was for Thank you cards and I was able to do multiples of each, which really helped.  I will share some of those at a later date, but first I wanted to share a Father's Day card I made last month.

This one is using a Flourish LLC stamp set called - In Nature.

I stamped the image onto come canson watercolour paper using black memento, then coloured using my Zig Clean Colour Markers.  I then cut it out and layered it onto a some black cardstock cut using Justrite vintage labels two. I don't recall the top part of the designer paper, but the bottom orange wood grain is from MME. I also used Memory box stick frame border to add a bit of interest at the bottom of the card.

Finished off with some striped ribbon, some Stamping Bella - bella dots and I used my wink of stella clear pen to add a bit of shimmer to the water.

Supplies:
stamp - Flourishes - In Nature
ink - black memento, Zig clean colour markers
paper - SU black, MME, canson watercolour coldpress
dies - spellbinders - oval,  MME - stick frame border, Justrite - vintage labels two
misc - ribbon, bella dots, wink of glitter clear pen

Thanks for stopping by, have a wonderful day!

Welcome Baby

Last month I was asked to make a couple of baby cards, one I have already posted and the other was specified as a non-gender, so this is what I did.

Dies are from MFT as well as the stamp sets.  This was such a fast make I should of made a couple more just to have on hand.

Paper is from Prima - Bedtime Story.  I added a yellow gingham bow made with my bow maker and some enamel dots to finish this off.

Hope your week is going well, back soon with another post.

Thanks for your visit.

Shade canopy tree

Hello everyone. I hope you had a good week.  It's been a busy week for me.  Last weekend I went  shopping for a dress to wear to our son Mark's wedding in Septemeber.  After trying several on I did manage to buy one.  I can't  believe how expensive they are! Then again anything 'wedding' related  seems to have that higher price tag attached.  Now I just have to find shoes and a clutch.

My card today, is a card I made for Father's Day.  I have since made a few more for a card order I'm working on, and made them as Thank You cards.

I used a Penny Black image called Shade Canopy.

I started with some Canson water colour paper, sponged some tumbled glass distress ink all over then placed it in my MISTI.  I think inked my image using Peeled Paint distress markers, spritz and close the Misti to stamp.  I then added a bit of Forest Moss distress marker and  bit of gathered twigs- spritz and stamp.  I then trimmed it down to the size I wanted, then layered this onto a piece of black card stock.
I put it back in the MISTI, lined up the  sentiment using the graph guide, then stamped using black versafine. I stamped the sentiment a couple of times to get a nice crisp black image.
I used  a couple of different flag stax dies to make the embellishment in the corner using scrap pieces of designer papers.  Added a pewter stick on brad.

Supplies:
Stamp - Penny Black - shade canopy, PTI -sentiment from Pond Life
ink - black versafine, Distress ink - tumbled glass, distress markers - forest moss, peeled paint & gathered twigs
paper - canson water colour, SU black and Old Olive, scraps of dp
dies - Justrite - stitched A2 banners and rectangles, MFT - flag stax

Thanks for your visit.  Have a wonderful day!

Spring birds # 2

Today, rather than a card post I thought I would share some more of Bill's photo's.  These are during the month of May during Spring Migration.

The swallows were all sitting in this bare bush along the shoreline of Lake Erie down at Pt. Pelee National Park. There were hundreds of them.

Be sure to click on the pictures to have a closer look.

Fresh Freesia

Hello everyone.  Just popping in for a quick post today before heading to work.  It's going to be a very hot and high humidity day - forecasting temperatures to reach 102 this afternoon, way too hot for me. I'm more for around the low 70's!

Anyway, I purchased a few Altenew sets from our local store - The Paper Pickle a few weeks back.
I wanted to do a water colouring card using my Zig clean colour markers, so I decided to use
Fresh Freesia.

I embossed the image onto some Tim Holtz water colour paper using white embossing powder. From there I just added a bit of Zig markers and used my Koi water brush to move the colours. I was thrilled out it turned out.  Not sure if this is a Freesia colour or not, but I went with it anyway.

There are several sentiments with this set, it was hard to choose.  I stamped the sentiment in black versafine using my Misti to line it up.  I ended up stamping it a couple of times to get a nice crisp clean impression - that is what I love about the Misti.

I then trimmed it down to the size I wanted, used some SEI paper - Mimosa for the background and the back side I cut a couple of smaller strips and layered this behind the image.

To finish I added wink of stella clear pen to the flowers and some clear sequins.

Okay, must run - have a wonderful day, and I thank you again for stopping by.  See you soon,

Pauline

Spring birds #1

Hello everyone! I hope you enjoyed the long weekend, both for Canada and US.  Bill and I took off for the long weekend, on a birding expedition.  Lots of new pictures to come.  But first let's start with the May spring migration pictures.

These were all taken at Pt. Pelee National Park.  Enjoy!

 Peek-a-boo, I see you!

One of my favourite warbler picture this year is the Philadelphia warbler.  Isn't he just the sweetest little bird? So soft and fluffy.  This would also make a beautiful baby gift to have one of these framed!

The worm eating warbler is a rare warbler to find.  Warblers do not sit still for more than a couple of seconds so it was very  hard to capture this picture.  I think Bill said that he took almost 300 pics to get 2 that were good!

I hope you enjoyed these photos.  Have a wondeful day!

Welcome little one

Happy Friday, and Happy Canada Day!

So in between all of my Bella cards I was making, I did manage to make some other cards as well. I had a request for 2 baby cards, one a boy baby and the other generic.  My friend (Carla - cardsbycarla - check out her blog, she also has some beautiful cards for sale on her Etsy site ) sent me some digital baby boy images, so I used one of them for this card.

Not much explaining on this, so I will just list the supplies:

stamp - PTI - everyday classics - sentiment
dies - MB - button border, Spellbinders - labels 40, elegant ovals
paper - heidi grace - frost blvd - paisley, cougar white, blue
ink - SU blue bayou
misc - SU oval punch, pearls, digital image

Thank you for stopping in today. Enjoy your weekend!
