Memories

Happy Wednesday, we are half way through the week.

Just thought I would do a quick post today before heading off to work.  I've been playing with my new Memory Box dies - I just love these dies.  I bought this Orchard Tree die, as well as the Pippi Butterfly and Isabella Butterfly (one is solid the other is the overlay)from Paper Pickle.  If you would like to purchase these  and she doesn't have it in stock, Kim will gladly order it for you.

I cut the frame out using black c/s, then traced the outside of the frame on a piece of designer paper from a 6x6  Prima - Nature collection. Cut this out and then laid the frame over top of it and then stamped my sentiment.  Sentiment is from Verve from the set called Forever in our Hearts.  I pulled this all together using some Martha Stewart punches - butterflies and the leafy branch, also a Prima flower, and some tiny pearls.

I was really pleased with how this turned out. It sure makes a beautiful sympathy card.

Well, I'm off, enjoy your day!

Curly Silhouette

Hi everyone.  Hope you all had a good weekend. I just can't believe it is Monday again already.  Like where did the weekend go?  It's funny a work week M-F never goes by that quickly!

My card today is serving as a dual purpose.  First my post for Stamping Bella as well as I thought I would play along with the challenge over at the
Dynamic Duo blog. My image I'm using today is called Curly Silhouette. Such a great image, can be used for many occasions.  I plan on using this card as a sympathy card.

The challenge was to use crumb cake and soft suede, and you could also use neutral tones, so I choose cream.

I inked the image up using crumb cake and stamped in on bella's bestest cream  paper. I used s/binder dies - decorative labels eight as well as labels eight (soft suede layer).
Finished off with some pearls, a wooded bird by Studio Calico and cream silk ribbon.

If you have a chance to play along with our challenge this week, our theme is 'You are so sweet'.  You can email Emily your card by thursday night, and that will get you a chance to win $20 in bella bucks.

Thanks for stopping in today, see you again real soon.

Sketch challenge #2

Hi all!  TGIF, and that means another bellariffic challenge.  This week we have a sketch to follow.
I pulled out this cute Izzie image to colour - Izzie has a lettah. Perfect for Valentines or anytime!

Not your typical Valentine colours, but does it always have to be red?  Anywho, she was coloured using copics after she was stamped on bella's bestest paper. Shading and grass was done with prismacolour pencils. I cut her out using an oval s/binder die, then layered her onto a piece of aqua bazzill paper cut using s/binder labels twenty.

Designer paper is by October Afternoon - Sidewalks.  I know the sketch didn't call for much of anything else, but it looked so plain, so I added some polka-dot chiffon ribbon and a little heart tag - which is also a s/binder die, and the sentiment is an old bella sentiment.

Be sure to stop over at bloggabella to see all the other entries for this week.  Leave a comment for a chance to win $10 in bella bucks.

Next week our challenge is a theme - You are so Sweet - I'm thinking this is along the Valentine line, but hey you can make it whatever you like as long as it is sweet!  To play along and a chance to win $20 in bella bucks, all you have to do is email Emily your entry by Thursday night - it's that simple!

Enjoy your weekend everyone, and thanks for the visit today.

Remember when.......

Happy Wednesday everyone.  I hope you are keeping warm from this terrible cold snap we are having.  It is just bitterly cold.  It's -7c today or -22c with the windchill,  and I know it is worse in other areas, but after having a fairly mild week last week, this feels like a slap in the face - ouch!

Okay so on with my card. I decided that I needed a few masucline cards in my stash so this is what I came up with.  I'm using a Beth Ful image by Stamping Bella called Remember when....

Do you remember owning a tricycle like this?  Mine was a red one with a white seat and the little platform between the two back wheels was white and I also had some streamers dangling from the handle grips - oh the memories.

So for the recipe - stamped on some watercolour paper with black versafine and then embossed it with clear embossing powders.  Cut it our using a square nestie, left the die in place and sponged some antique linen, frayed burlap, brushed corduroy, and a bit of aged mahogany. Papers are from Pink Paislee called Old School.  This stamp also comes with it's own sentiment, which I used.  I stamped it on the piece of DP that I cut out using an MFT hexagon die.

Finished off with some Bella dots.

Here are a few reminders as well - over on SCS we have our next  challenge going on right now, this challenge is 'lovey dovey' so anything romantic.  You can read all the deets here.

Also our bellariffic friday challenge - we have a sketch this week.  Play along and email your entry to Emily by thursday evening for a chance to win $20 in bella bucks.
Thanks for the visit today, see you back here on Friday for the challenge. Keep warm...brrrrrrr..

I lift up my eyes ....

Goodmorning, how is the weather in your neck of the woods?  We have very high winds here started late last night, it felt like the roof was coming off the house, with all the creaking sounds, so needless to say didn't get much sleep, ended up going down and sleeping on the sofa.  Gusts up to 90/km, but they are suppose to die down sometime today to around 35 km.

As I'm drinking my coffee in my cozy little stamp room, I thought I would post a card that I made last week for my sale basket out in Dresden.  My ladies out there love 'inspirational' cards. This is what I came up with.

The sentiment is from Verve - Plain Jane stamp called
Psalm 121:1-2. The die used is from Flourishes.
This one is called Perfectly pierced classic hourglass
I love how you get a 2 in one - cutting and piercing all in one, and these dies cut like butter, so crisp and smooth edges.
Paper is from an older K & Co pack - Madeline - I've been hoarding this pack, all the papers are so pretty I just hate to use them - yes I have a sickness for sure - LOL.
Used a spellbinder edge die for the green on the bottom and for the green scroll along the upper left side, that is a new die from Spellbinders called  Shapeabilities dies D-Lites - Garden Weave, that I bought at Paper Pickle.  For all you local folks, Kim can order almost any of the dies/stamps from an assortment of different companies, so if you don't see it in her store she will be glad to order it in for you.
Finished it off with some lace, silk ribbon and lots of pearls.

Well there you have it, best get ready for Church.  I'll see you back here real soon as long as I don't get blown away!

Enjoy the rest of your day!

Life is good

TGIF!!! Welcome to our first inspiration challenge of 2013.  I always thought it would be cool to have inspiration challenges. I see them all the time on blogs - some of the colours you would never think of putting together. When I saw our inspiration colours I thought what am I going to do - follow the colours or the design.  As I went through some of my 6x6 paper packs I came across the perfect paper that contained the exact colours - well pretty close.

Then I saw this image sitting on my desk - I pulled it out last week to colour and never did, so this is what I went with.  I'm using another Mo Manning image called The Big Guy Jogging.

As always, I stamped the image using black memento on bella's bestest paper.  I used copics to colour and pencils for the shading.

The top right corner left a large white space and wanted to fill that in a bit, so I decided on this little sentiment from Verve.  I stamped it on a piece of scrap dp and then cut it out using Verve's ribbon banner die.  I tied a piece of red twine around it and then tucked the end in behind the layers.

For some more inspiration on this weeks challenge, stop over at Bloggabella and leave a comment while your there for a chance to win $10 in bella bucks.

Did you notice my new 'blinkie' in the top right side of the page? You can have this too.  Be a part of the Sisterhood and add this to your blog.  Stop over at Stamping Bella to get your new blinkie - here.

Next weeks challenge is another sketch. If you get a chance to play along, you can email Emily your card by Thursday night.
Have a great weekend, and thanks for stopping by. Your comments are greatly appreciated.

Here's Hoping...

Hi everyone.  Where has this week gone, or should I say the first half of January? I can't believe it's Wednesday night already. Time got away from me this week, so last night I scrambled to put this card together.

With everyone's new year's resolution I thought this image would be perfect for all of us trying to loose weight. The image I choose to colour is called Hoping by Mo Manning in rubber at Stamping Bella.  I love the sentiment that went with this image - not today... maybe tomorrow. - it is so true, isn't it, at least for me anyway!

I stamped her on bella's bestest paper and then coloured her using prismacolour pencils and blended with gamsol. Skin tones were done with copics.
After cutting her out I left the die in place, and sponged some versamagic aloe vera around edges.
This was then layered onto a piece of chocolate brown cut out with a spellbinder Lacey ovals.

My layout was based on Deconstructed sketch#83.  Designer paper is Basic Grey  Sweet Threads.

If you haven't submitted your card for this weeks inspiration challenge you still have time.  You can email Emily your entry by Thursday night.

And don't forget about our challenge over at SCS. Our theme is "a picture is worth a thousand words' - so no sentiment just let the picture tell the story.
You can read all about it here.

Okay, I'm off to work on my challenge card.  See you back here on Friday.  Thanks for stopping by.

Thinking of you

Welcome to our first Bellariffic challenge for 2013!
We have lots of exciting challenges this year and today we are starting off with a sketch.  So how this works is every other Friday will be a sketch and the alternate Fridays we will have some kind of challenge whether it be a colour, or theme we will let you know the week before.

So lets get started - this weeks challenge like I mentioned was a sketch, and this is what we had to follow:

On Dec 21, we had a 'thinking of you' challenge, which I couldn't participate in so I decided to make my card today.

I want to dedicate my card to one of our fellow bella babes- Cath.  Cath has been going through some health issues, (you can read her story here), so I'm sending her this card to let her know I'm thinking of her.  Cath if you are reading this - it's in the mail!
Here is Petunia Pixie:

I started by stamping it on bella's bestest paper and then coloured with copics.  Shading around her was done with prismacolour pencils.
Designer paper is by Prima called Fairy Belle. The pink paper behind the image was a piece I have been hording for a while. I just love the texture of it.  It's a few years old, I believe it was from Hero Arts. Dies used are Spellbinders circle and scallop circle as well as Venetian Accents for the thinking of you tag. The sentiment I used is from Verve. Finished it off with some pearls and stitching.

You can view all the other submissions for this weeks challenge over at Bloggabella.  If you care to leave a comment you have a chance to win some bella bucks.

Our new SCS challenge is also on the go right now, you can read all about it here.

Next weeks challenge is Inspiration #1.  However you interpret it - whether it's the colour or pattern, email your card to Emily by thursday night for a chance to win $20 in bella bucks and also you card will appear on Bloggabella on friday.

Well that concludes my post for today. Have a great weekend, see you back here real soon.

Girls just wanna have fun!

Happy Tuesday!  I'm back today to share with you another Uptown Girl image. So what did you think of Emily's release last Friday? I can't wait to get the new ones, so in the meantime I pulled out
Victoria and Juliette's night out.

I started by stamping them on bella's bestest paper then used copics to colour.  I shaded around the image using prismacolour pencils and blended with gamsol. Designer paper used is by Basic Grey - Soleil.

Sentiment was stamped on some white c/s then cut out using MFT fish tail die.

Finished off with lots of glitter.

You still have time to enter into this weeks sketch challenge.  Just email Emily your card by thursday night for a chance to win some bella bucks.

Also don't forget about the challenge we have going on over on SCS.  You can read all amount it here.
the challenge starts today and runs until Monday Jan 21 at midnight.

I'm back with a Sneak Peek!

First of all, I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas, as you spent time with family and friends. We enjoyed the quietness, after having such a busy 3 weeks before the holidays, the rest was much needed.   And now here we are into the beginning of another year.  Did you make any new year resolutions?  I gave up on that a while ago, I would always start out with good intentions just like most and then fall off.

With that being said, I'm back after a month off, and let me tell you it is hard to get back into make cards and posting them.  I struggled with this, pulled out images and papers, and would sit and ponder at doing a card, and then would put it off for another day.  It's just like work, you take a week or two vacation and you find it such a struggle to get back into the groove. I did manage to make 2 cards on the weekend (finally!), which will be posted next week.

Some good news - Emily over at Stamping Bella is having a release on Friday! Woohoo!! There will be some new Uptown's and the one that I am sharing with you today is called Brett & Brenda. I'm in love with this image, see for yourself.

I kept this fairly simple - didn't want to steal the show from the bride! LOL.  I coloured the image with copics, then cut it out using the smallest die from the Spellbinders Grand Ovals, left the die in place and sponged some Mellow Moss around the edges to co-ordinate with the background paper I picked. I then layered this onto another piece of white c/s cut using Grand Decorative Ovals One

Designer paper is by Fabscraps called Rustic Fly- I wish I would of bought a couple of pieces of this, love the tones of the greens and greys in this.

This image also comes with it's own sentiment - Congratulations, which I cut out using an tag die. I also added some mini pearls to finish it off.

To glitter her dress I covered the whole dress using my quickie glue pen, let it dry for a couple of minutes the poured some Crystal Glitter Ritz - warm highlights, and burnished it in, tapped off the excess and there you have it a smooth looking bridal dress.  You can see the how the glitter looks here:

Don't forget about our challenge over at SCS - you can find the link here and read all about it.  There is $25.00 voucher up for grabs which can be spent at Stamping BellaContest closes Jan 7th.

Well that abouts does it for me for today.  Have to get ready for work (UGH!)Be sure to check out the other Babes blogs to catch some more sneak peaks.

Thanks for stopping by, have yourself a wonderful day!
