A Grateful Heart

Hi Everyone.  Hope you had a wonderful long Labour Day weekend.  It's hard to imagine that the summer months have come and gone and now we are into September.  Kidlets off to school, although I don't have any school age children although my daughter is going back to College in a couple of weeks.

Bill and I headed up to Algonquin Park this past weekend - what a beautiful place to visit.  Lots of trails to hike, so many lakes, waterfalls, rapids, and just plain beauty.  It's like being in a different world when you are up there, away from the hustle and bustle of city and small town life.

We saw lots of birds - starting to head south for migration - although some are residence of the park all year around.  I had a Gray Jay land on my hand to eat peanuts, actually there were 4 of them, just swooning in to my hand, grab some peanuts and off they go and then next would come in.  They basically sat in the pine tree beside me and just waited their turn.  So cool! Early morning along the lakes you could hear the Loon's calling off in the distance. Saw some deer as well as a black bear crossing the highway as we were leaving the park yesterday!

I'm off today,  lots of things on my agenda like buying a new washing machine!! I have a front load washer and drying and the 'spider' mount in the back of the washer has broke and when the machine spins it makes a huge banging sound because nothing to hold the drum in place.  The cost is about $300 for parts + labour, and I don't think it's worth getting it fixed for that kind of money, considering the machine is around 8 yrs old, so going to see what I can find.

I do have a card to share with you today.  I had made this a few weeks back.  I have so many stamps that have been un-inked, I thought it was best to start using what I have rather than buy new.  The stamp I'm using today is from Justrite called Grateful Heart.

Image was stamped on 110lb white cardstock using black memento ink and then coloured using copics.
Used the coordinating Justrite die to cut it out -  Vintage Labels Two. Other dies used are Spellbinders - labels Twenty-eight, and Ornate Squares.  The c/s that I used for the Ornate square is Soft Suede (SU).

To give the card a vintage feel, I sponged some antique linen around the edges of the cream labels twenty eight as well as the image.

Finished off with some cream lace, watermelon seam binding ribbon (I bought mine from Flourishes), and some amber rhinestones. I also added some glitter to the flowers, using a quickie glue pen and some Hero Arts prisma glitter.

Well, that's about it for me today, need to get my day going. Have a wonderful day, and thanks for stopping in.
