Finally, a card made

Hi! It seems like I have been gone forever since I posted last.  Did you miss me?
I had a very busy weekend,Bill (Hubby) and I went up to Georgetown to visit my SIL on friday, then on Saturday and Sunday Bill and I did a lot of site seeing.  We went to the Cheltenham Badlands, this was amazing to see, also went to  Limehouse Conservation Park, and Rattray Marsh Conservation Park.
On Sunday we wanted to check out the Niagara Escarpment in the Milton area, so we ventured up to Rattlesnake Point. The view from up on the escarpment was breathtaking to say the least.  We spent a couple of hours walking the trails and such.  Then off to Elora Gorge where we walked along the trails and took in the beautiful scenery. From there we headed towards home, but first stopped at
St. Jacobs and West Montrose - where we saw the last standing covered bridge in Ontario.

For my card today, I share with you Posie Pixie.

As usual I stamped her on bella's bestest paper and coloured with prismacolour pencils.  Designer paper is from MME - happy go lucky.  Scallop border was done by using an EK Success border punch, I also used MS Leaf punch, flower was rolled and added glitter to the tops of the flower petals. Finished with some ribbon and glitter and stitching.

Well that's it for today, back on friday with another card.  Don't forget we don't have a challenge this friday, so we will be back on July 8 - if you want to get a start -  our challenge is 'ribbon' - how easy is that! Email Emily by thursday night (July 7).

Thanks for stopping by,
Pauline

Bellariffic challenge with a sketch

Happy Friday!  This weeks Bellariffic challenge is a sketch.  This was a great sketch to play with, although I just changed the top part of the sketch to suite my image better.  Other than that I followed it pretty close.

Still being on the 'guy' kick of card making, I pulled out Beer Peep to colour this week. Now not being a beer drinker myself, wasn't sure what colours to do the bottle in, so I winged it.  I started by stamping the image on bella's bestest paper,
then coloured using primsacolour pencils.  Designer paper is from Basic Grey 6x6 pack called Oliver.  Like I said earlier I changed the layout of the top part just because it fit better with the image.

Finished with some stitching a brad, oh, and a bit of glitter on the lime!

I'm sure there is a lot of yumminess over on Bloggabella, so be sure to stop by and take a look.

There will be no challenge next week (July 1) but if you would like to get ahead and work on the challenge for July 8, the theme is 'Use ribbon on your card" yep, it's that easy, so please play along and email Emily your card by july 7.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Peresphone Pixie

Hi All! It's Wednesday which really means nothing other than we are half way through the work week.

I just adore these Pixies from Stamping Bella, and since I have only coloured up a couple of them I needed another fix, so I pulled out Peresphone!

As usual I stamped Peresphone on bella's bestest paper and coloured with primascolour pencils. Designer paper is from Echo Park.
To make the pleated flower, I cut a strip 1/2" wide x 12" long, and scored every quarter using the mini score pal. Then I folded the strip up like an accordian, glued the two ends together, then fold the pleats up again, but at the same time make it lie flat, it just takes a bit of playing with it.  I then glued a small punched circle to the bottom of it to hold the pleats in place.  Added a button on top to cover the hole.
Finished off with some glitter and a leaf branch cut from a Sizzix die.

Enjoy the rest of your day, thanks for stopping by.

Terrible Twos!

Hi all, and Happy Monday! I only have a 2 day work week this week, so that's something to be happy about.

For today's card I pulled out Jill is Two, a Mo Manning image which you can buy in rubber from Stamping Bella.

I stamped Jill on bella's bestest paper and coloured her up using my prismacolour pencils and blended with gamsol.  Skin tones were done using Copics.
I had this paper from Cosmo Cricket sitting on my desk for a few days now, so instead of digging for something new to use, I just went with it.  It's called Little Girls, and I've had it for a least a year if not longer - pretty sad isn't it!
Punched out 2 borders using a Martha Sterwart punch, then sponged some antique linen on the edges.
Finished it up with some stitching,  cream satin ribbon and a prima rosette.

Just a reminder about our challenge this week.  It's a sketch  - you can see it here.

I'll be back on Wednesday with another card.  Thanks for stopping by.

Hub's birthday card

Hi Everyone.  Hope you are all enjoying your weekend.  Yesterday we went off to London to  celebrate Father's Day, my Hubby's, brother's, brother-in-law's and Dad's birthday.  Yes, June is a very busy month for our family.  I tell you I don't think I need to eat for the rest of the week.  So much delicious food.  I got on the scale this morning, and it is not a good thing! I guess I'm back to the daily walking routine and lots of water.

Today's card is one I made for my Hub's.

I used my 'new' Grand Calibur and labels #4.  I love that S/binders came out with a larger die cutting machine - it takes card making to a whole new level.  Now I must say I this card on Amy Sheffer's blog, and fell in love with the card base. then again I fall in love with everything she does.  She is amazing!
So I just went from there.  My hub's is a bird lover/watcher/photograher (in his spare time) so I wanted to incorporate a bird on the card.  I have this paper from K & Co called Celeste by Brenda Walton.  I've had this paper pack for a while, so many pretty papers, but finally caved into cutting a piece!

Sentiment - stamped in Always Artichoke  is from Verve and I also used a leaf die from Sizzix.  Dusted all edges using antique linen then went over that with a bit of frayed burlap.
Finished off with some beige seam binding.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday.  Back tomorrow with a Mo image.

till then,
Pauline

Here comes summer...

Hi Peeps! Here we are again for another Bellariffic friday challenge.  This weeks theme was "here comes summer".  I hope you had a chance to play along this week.
I'm not one to lay out in the sun, but enjoy being out in it, like in my garden or just going for walks. So for me to sit on a beach it's just not my thing- although it use to be in my much younger years.  I remember for my sister's stag and doe, we took her to Grand Bend for the weekend (26 yrs ago!)  It was a perfect weekend, hot and sunny, great weather to lay on the beach and get the ultimate sun tan, so all us brides maids would look 'hot' in our wedding attire.  Well not only did we get a sun tan, we got burnt! We all paid the price of that for a bit!  Okay sorry got carried away... on with my card.

For my card today, I pulled out one of my many un-inked stamps called
Beach Hut and Ball.

When I pulled out this stamp to use, I knew right away which papers I wanted to pair with it.  It's called Beach Babe by Fancy Pants.  How perfect eh?
So, I started out by stamping the image on bella's bestest paper.  I coloured it up using my prismacolour pencils and blended with gamsol. Next I cut it out with my square nestie, left the die in place and sponged some sea breeze versamagic ink around the image.  Layered it onto some yellow and blue and then stitched around the image.
I wanted to use another piece of paper from the pack, but didn't want to cover up the surf board design, so had to keep by layout over to the right. I popped the image up using deminsionals.
To finish it off I  wrapped some deep pink twine around the card, threaded a button through the ends of the twine and tied a bow. I don't know how well you can see in the picture, but I kind of made my own sand.  I applied some ultra fine flower soft (sand shade) and then rubbed some of it off, then took my glitter pen and dotted here and there and then sprinkled some glitter - and there you have it - sand - it has a sparkle to it, as if the sun was shinning down on the sand.  It is very pretty IRL too!

Be sure to hop over to Bloggabella see what the other babes and sistahs did for this weeks challenge.  Leave a comment for your chance to win some bella bucks!

Next weeks challenge is a sketch - I love sketches!!! makes life so easy for me.
The sketch was done by our very talented bellababe Jeanie!

You have until thursday night to submit your card to Emily.

Have a good weekend everyone.

A daisy for you

Happy Wednesday - I'm back today with another great card - well I think so anyway (LOL).  When I first started out, this is not what I had in mind, but I was happy with the outcome.  For my image I used Perk me up daisy outline by Stamping Bella.

As you can see I only used part of the image.  I started out by embossing the daisy on watercolour paper using gold embossing powder.  My first intentions were to watercolour using tombows, but that got squashed!  So I went looking through my dies and found the one I used (green paper).  In the center of the die is a solid square piece just big enough to put a small image, so I thought hey, I can cut part of the daisy and go from there.  So that's what I did. After cutting it out I used copics to colour the daisy petals.  Left the die in place and sponged some antique linen then very lightly added some frayed burlap.  I sponged the edges of the green, beige and the card base using antique linen then some frayed burlap as well.  Design paper is a piece I had from a couple of years ago, which was purchased at a stamping convention in Novi MI.  It's by Paperloft.

Finishing touches - cream seam binding, and some very small pearls.  Did you know that you can change the colour of your white pearls to what ever colour you choose? Well you can, with Copics.  So I coloured my white pearls to a creamy-beige colour.

You still have time to submit your creation  for our challenge this week.
Our theme is - Here comes summer.  Send to Emily by thursday night.

Enjoy the rest of your day, thanks for stopping by.

See you on friday,

Heritage Tree

Hi - Hope everyone had a great weekend.  Myself, I did, I managed to get a lot of colouring done - which makes me happy! - Weather was gloomy Friday and most of Saturday, so I didn't feel guilty staying indoors to colour.

I was going through my bucket of images that I have stamped off, and came across this image already coloured! BONUS! I say.  The image I'm using today is called
Heritage Tree - I love all the swirling branches - anything related to nature I love - flowers, trees, leaves etc - I've gotta have it.

As always, the tree was stamped on bella's bestest paper using black memento ink.   I pulled out my prismacolour pencils to colour this up.  Love all the sections on the tree limbs - it was fun to colour.  After cutting out with the square nestie, I sponged some versamagic wheat around the image. The next layer - coral colour - I used the largest die in the fleur de lis square.   I love the look of the flourish swirls on this piece. DP  is from a 12 x 12 paper pack from K & Co. called
Scrap Pad to go.
Finished  off by popping up the tree layer using dimensionals, adding  some flower soft on the tree and ground area, along with a small white pearl in each of the four corners on the coral.

Back on Wednesday with another card to share with you.  Thanks for stopping by.

Grilling Time

Happy Friday everyone.  I back with another masculine card for this friday's bellariffic challenge.  This weeks challenge is Paper Piecing.  With Father's Day and 4 guy birthdays this month, I thought I best be colouring up some of these 'guy' images.

So for today's card I'm using another wonderful image by Mo Manning. It's called
The Big Guy Grilling in rubber at Stamping Bella.

I started out by stamping the image on bella's bestest paper using black memento ink.   I used copics for the skin tones and prismacolour pencils for the rest.  I paper pieced his shirt, hat and pants.  The paper I used is from Basic Grey Granola.  I don't think I have ever used this 6x6 pad yet! and it's been out for a while.  Finished it off with some stitching.

Want to see more fabulous designs, then hop over to Bloggabella and see what the rest of the babes and sistahs have created.  Leave a comment while you are there for a chance to win some bella bucks!

For next weeks challenge our theme is HERE COMES SUMMER -  let your imagination run wild - there are so many great bella images to use.  Email your card to Emily by thursday night - bella bucks up for grabs.

Have a wonderful weekend.  Thanks for stopping by.

June SFYTT

If you haven't already heard, and you are a sketch fanatic, then you will want to check out this link over at i(heart) 2 stamp. Every month Jen has a sketch for you to try, and this month it is sponsored by Stamping Bella!

I love doing sketches, I just don't do them enough.  So for my card today, I'm using a Green Bean Baby stamp called Jackson the Champion.

I started by stamping Jackson on bella's bestest paper with black memento ink.
I  pulled out my very neglected Copics to colour him up. I must say the hair turned out much darker than anticipated.  I kept adding colour to get shading and before I knew it, it was too dark, so took my blender and pulled some of the colour off.

I matched up the colours for his clothing with my new 6x6 pad  by MME called Fly a Kite.  I must say MME has come out with some fabulous papers this year!
I also used a sizziz dot embossing folder for the red square - love the dimension it gives rather than plain c/s - I need to use this folder more - love the dots!
So there you have it - my June SFYTT!

Have a great day, another hot one here today - yesterday it reached 109 with the humidity factor!! too hot for me.

Dancing in the rain...

brings back memories when I was a child, and would just love  to be outside in the rain.  I mean what kid doesn't love to dance in the rain? So with all the rain we have had in the month of May - (so glad it is now June!) I pulled out my new stamp to use - Umbrella Peep by Stamping Bella. I just adore these Peep images.

I stamped her on bella's bestest paper using black memento ink.  Next I used prismacolour pencils to colour her.  Used a circle s/binder die to cut the image out as well as the scallop circle. Sponged some versamagic pixie pink around the image. DP is from MME- Tickled Pink 6x6 pad. Great thing about this stamp, it comes with a sentiment.  Love when that happens.
With the sentiment being a fair size, I played around with several different dies until I decided on this one. Finished off with some glitter, stitching and some pearls.

Just a reminder about our bellariffic challenge this friday - Paper Piecing.  Email your card to Emily by thursday night. There is some bella bucks up for grabs.

Thanks for stopping by, see you later,

For my card this week, I coloured up the BIG GUY golfing by Mo Manning in rubber from Stamping Bella.

I started off as usual using bella's bestest paper and coloured using prismacolour pencils and blended with gamsol. I am using paper from the 6x6 pack of Basic Grey - Marjolaine.  Finished it up with some stitching. All in all it was a pretty simple card. To see more inspiration from this weeks challenge, hop over to Bloggabella!

Next weeks challenge is PAPER PIECING! So let your imagination flow ladies, and email off your card to Emily by thursday night.

You 'perk' me up

Hi! Well it's Wednesday, which means we are half way through the work week. Today is absolutely beautiful outside - sun shine, no humidity, and breezy - a perfect summer day - if everyday could be like this!  Came home at noon and did a load of laundry to hang on the line, nothing greater than crawling into bed with the smell of fresh clean sheets! Okay enough of all that lets get on with the card.

I wasn't sure what to colour up for today, but saw this image laying on my desk, which I stamped a few weeks ago and never got around to colouring it up.  Today's image is by Stamping Bella called Percolator Circle.

As usual, I used Bella's bestest paper for the image, and coloured it up using prismacolour pencils. Cut the image freehand and layered it onto a white circle, then a kraft circle both cut using a s/binder circle die.  Papers are from MME - from my scrap bin.  The sentiment is from the set - Perk me up Peeps.
Finished with some stitching, lace, glitter, clear glaze, and a bow - (which I had to use to cover a booboo! - who would of known?)

Dont' forget about our challenge this friday ladies - them is Masculine.  Still time to get your card to Emily by thursday night.

Enjoy the rest of your day! I'm going to head outside to enjoy what's left of my day - see ya!
