Hi everyone! Hope your enjoying your weekend.
Here is my card for today:
I stamped the bird using memento rich cocoa onto some cream cardstock. I then layered this onto another cream c/s which was stamped using a text stamp from Magenta.
The pearlized background was done as follows. I embossed my background using a hero arts background stamp with white embossing powder onto some canson water colour paper. I then used some Inka gold platinum and some tattered rose distress ink. I squished my distress pad onto my craft mat, added a bit of inka gold, a bit of water and mixed to make a wash. I then painted on the wash over my embossed background. It dries fairly quickly as well. Once dry I layered this onto a piece of cream c/s, then adhered to my card base. Added some lace, twine and a prima flower. I also added some small gold sequins to finish this off. The technique of the background came from Kim over at The Paper Pickle.
The inka gold comes in a variety of colours, but for a wash like I did, if you add ink to the platinum colour you can make it any colour you desire.

Oh, goodness! You stamped a plain brown bird and turned your card into a magnificent beauty! You're amazing. Your background is exquisite and I love the lace and flower with twine. Such a lovely combination of elements. I have a pearlized background laying around somewhere, made long ago with Pearl Ex powder. Different, but similar. Love the white embossing on this. So gorgeous!
Beautiful! I love this lace trim and haven't seen it in awhile. wonderful embossing and oh such a beautiful feel with the creams and browns.
WOW Pauline! What a beautiful card....I love the simply stamped bird and your subtle but incredible background....I have never attempted that technique before but you make it very tempting! So glad I saw this beauty tonight! :)
