Simple Joys

Hello everyone.  I mean to post this a few days ago, but time just flew by.  I just finished up one of my Christmas card/birthday card order for a friend, so thought this was a good time to take a break and  share a card with you.

For my card today, I'm using an image from the set called "simple joy" from Power Poppy.  I am in love with this set, love the images and they always have such perfect sentiments  with a variety of fonts!

I had visions on using purple on my card, so pulled out some papers from Bo Bunny - Altitude collection as my guide line.  I used prismacolour pencils to colour. Once finished I used a stitched die to cut out the image. I used distress ink pumice stone to sponge some colour along the bottom and side.

After it was all layered up, I used a stitched banner die to cut a piece of the designer paper and then die cut a small snowflake to lay on top.  I added a purple rhinestone.

I wanted some glitter or shine and decided to go with both.  I added crystal stickles to the tiny white dots and added glossy accents to the balls. Well my purple balls turned pink!!! Yikes! So not sure if this falls into the category of this months challenge - to use pink, but I'm going to enter into the challenge over at Power Poppy.

supplies:
Stamps: Power Poppy = simple joys
ink - black memento, prismacolour pencils & gamsol, distress pumice stone ink
paper - cougar white 100lb, Bo Bunny - altitude collection, dark purple bazzill, SU sage green
dies - MFT - stitched rectangle, Simon Says - stitched banner, Poppy stamps - Ava snowflakes
misc -  stickles, rhinestone, glossy accents

Have a great day, thanks for stopping by.

Oh my word, Pauline....I love your dreamy purple card!! Your coloring looks amazing and I tell ya....I think the ornaments turning pink was a very happy accident because I love the contrast...it really looks like you planned it that way all along! ;) The little fishtail banner with snowflake is such a sweet touch to finish this lovely card. So glad I ran across your beautiful work tonight! Hope all is well with you....:)

Oh WOW!! Pauline, I'm just sitting here in awe looking at this gorgeous card, I can't get over the amazing colors in it, including your purple ornaments turning pink, what a happy, happy accident, this color looks beautiful with the soft green ones.
And what a lovely way to add detail to this card with the beautiful snowflake on that perfectly die cut banner.
Pinning this card for when my set arrives.
Thank you so much for sharing.
Hugs,
Maria Rodriguez.

That's odd that the Crystal Effects turned your purple to pink, but what a happy accident because it looks so pretty and I'd say it certainly qualifies for the challenge! I absolutely love the colors in the paper, and the snowflake flag is such a fabulous finishing touch. Nice idea to do the berries all white and sparkly. What a beautiful card with this set. Love it so much! Hope you can get some of your own Christmas cards done now. I'm struggling.

Oh, Pauline!! This is GORGEOUS, and I think that the accident was a good one, because I agree with Katie about loving the pink! Oh my, I gasped at the rich purple and teal DP you've used...it's stunning! And your coloring is exquisite (as it always is)! Oh my, I truly love how you've given this delightful image such depth and brought it to life, and I love the sweet little package. Beautifully done, and I agree about the little fishtail tag with the snowflake and rhinestone! All of it comes together to make one WOW-ZER card, sweet friend! Oh, I love it a LOT! So glad you took a break and made this card. Sigh....hugs and love! xoxo

Pauline. This is so gorgeous. Love the purple and I love the pink ornaments. No one would know it was supposed to be purple. The DP fits perfectly with your colouring. Obviously well planned. You know how to finish your cards - the flag and snowflake along with glitter and crystal effects. Seeing it real is even more beautiful than the photo! Thanks for sharing.
