First circle card

I decided this morning that I was going to try an attempt a circle cards.  I've seen so many gorgeous circle cards thought I would give it a try.  So here it is:

Actually  it wasn't that hard at all.  I new this card would need a smaller type image so I decided on Polar Bear Circle. I stamped image on Bella's bestest paper with black memento ink and colored with my prismas and gamsol. Paper is some new stuff I picked up last week when I was in London- it's from Bo Bunny.  Just love those colors together.

I added liquid applique on the snow dots and then sprinkled glitter while still wet, added glitter to the present and his scarf. I don't know how well you can see in the picture but  I also added some snow along the ground using white flocking.
Then finished it off with a bow and a lime green button.

Well my first Christmas card done for this year... and many more to do!

Sorry for the short post, but have to get to my choir practice.

See you tomorrow for Bellariffic challenge, this weeks theme is Halloween.
If you haven't submitted your card, you probably still have a bit of time tonight. Also check out the Tantalizing Tooooosday sale.  Some pretty good deals.

See ya!

Ivy in Purple

Did everyone have a great weekend? I spent most of saturday doing the household chores, you know the ones - vacuuming, washing floors, laundry etc.  I even did some baking, found this really good recipe for Carrot Gingerbread Muffins - mmmmm good, wasn't on my WW diet, but I'll fess up I had to try one - how can you not try them after smelling them as they cook right?

So for todays card, I would like to share with you Ivy Ketto.

I had her colored up for a few weeks, but just never got around to finishing her up.  After rummaging  through my paper buckets looking for just the right 'purple' color (so many different purple tones out there)  I decided on this paper from Bo Bonny. Just love the deep richness of the purple.  Some of the flowers on the paper are glittered, it is very pretty IRL!  So as usually I stamped Ivy on Bella's bestest paper using Black Memento ink. and colored with prisma's and gamsol.  I just got some new Spellbinder dies last week, so just had to try them out. I cut Ivy out with a circle nestie and used the Lacey Circles to cut the green.  I love this die, I can see me using it quite often.  I also bought the square ones as well.
Finished the card off with ribbon, glitter, and some clear baubles.

Well it's getting late, best be getting to bed.

Night all!

Pierce or Sew...

that is the theme for this weeks Bellariffic Challenge.  I did this card a couple of weeks ago, just waiting for the right time to post it.  When I saw what this weeks challenge was I knew it fit the bill perfectly.

Have you ever done a card and have been so thrilled with the outcome? Made you smile every time you looked at it?  Well I was thrilled with this card when it was all finished. I think it is so far my favorite card that I have done! Everything just seem to flow together wonderfully!

Okay, okay here it is: Let me introduce Babycarriageabella.
Isn't she adorable?  Doesn't she remind you of Marlo Thomas from That Girl? Paula and I think she does.  I loved that show!

I stamped on bella's bestest paper using black memento ink.  Colored  with prismas and gamsol.  I based my colors for coloring to match this piece of DP paper I found in my scrap bucket.  All I know it is from Provocraft, don't know where I bought it, but do need to find more of it.  I used a medium scallop die from Papertrey Ink for the pink and green scallop edging.  I stitched around the card and down the green piece. I pulled out my Bow Maker to make that perfect bow, attached a button to the center of it topped off with a pearl.
And lastly lots of glitter to make this card sparkle.
So what do you think? do you like?

Hi All!
What a gorgeous day we had here yesterday.  Although it was a bit humid it was most welcome. Cooler days are ahead for the rest of the week.

Today I'm posting a card that I did for my class at the Paper Pickle.  I'm using Lulu's Cherry Blossom Tree. I used Black Memento to stamp the tree on
bella's bestest paper.  Colored with prismas and gamsol.
Paper is by Crate. I used a leaf border punch from EK Success, thought this went well with the tree. I decided to make a
paper flower to add to the bottom corner.
There are a few tutorials out there on how to make flower rosettes. Added a piece of ribbon under the rosette before gluing down.  Dotted the cherry blossoms with glitter.

Hop over to Bloggabella, Emily has a BIGGGGG Surprise today, wonder what it could be?

And don't forget about this weeks Bellariffic challenge - faux sew or the real thing.  Submit your entry to Emily by thursday night for your chance to win some Bella Bucks,

Thanks for stopping in, see you soon,

Fishtastic!

Hi,
Just got in a short while ago, had a hair appointment for a cut and color along with a reflexology treatment.  I was in desperate need of both, but I tell you nothing tops off a hectic day at work than with a reflex treatment, (thanks Colleen!)

Well this is going to be a short post tonight. I'm in desperate need of 'guy' cards, so last night I pulled out Fishafella. This is a pretty straight forward card, I colored him with Copics, used an EK Success border punch, Cosmo Cricket paper, brad, twill ribbon, and finished it off with a Happy Birthday sentiment.

That's it for tonight, see you soon.

Autumn Blessings

I'm sharing with you today a card I made this morning.  I was in need for several Thanksgiving cards for my basket (I sell cards at my hairdressers shop) which is where I'm heading tomorrow after work.  So now that I have one done, I will be able to mass produce this layout and design. That's my afternoon job!

I'm finally using a Justrite set I bought last year, but never got around to using it, so pulled it out this morning, so it has now seen some ink! I love how these stamps work, there is a wooden block that has grooves in the underside of it, and that is how your stamps cling to the block is by the grooves on the rubber interlocks with the grooves on the block.
I stamped the pumpkins on Papertrey cream c/s using Black Memento, colored with prismas and gamsol.  I cut it out using an oval nestie.  Now normally you can stamp the image as well as the words all at once (there is a spot/grooves on the underside of the wood that holds both) but I choose to stamp them separately because I wanted to cut out my pumpkins just to give it another layer to the image part, and also I wanted the words to be in brown - stamped with Rich Cocoa Memento.
I"m using some new papers I picked up on Thursday from Paper Pickle - it's the new Basic Grey Pyrus  - I love the earthy tones in this line.  The floral part is actually the back side of the card front.  Since I didn't have any blue tones in my image, I dusted around the edges of autumn blessings with a bit of stormy sky distress ink, just to balance it out a bit. Border punch is from EK Success.
Added some glitter to the pumpkins.  Finished off with a gold bow (tied with my handy dandy bow maker- sure takes the frustration out of tying a perfect bow!) and I found in my stash drawer (yes starting to use items that I've been hoarding forevah!) these little copper leaves, so added that too!

Well that's it for today folks! Back tomorrow with a Bella card.
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday.

Lizzy

Hi Ladies,
Welcome to another Bellariffic Challenge. This weeks challenge was a sketch done by Lindabella.  As soon as I saw this sketch, I knew which image I wanted to color. I decided on Lizzy Laptop by Mo Manning.  I just love Mo images!

As usual I stamped Lizzy on
Bella's bestest paper with Black Memento Ink. Used my trusty prisma pencils and gamsol to color her up.  Don't you think her robe looks so soft and fluffy?

I used Basic Grey Urban Prairie paper, Tim Holtz die for the scallop border, some ribbon and stitching. I sponged around the edges of Lizzy using Versamagic Sea Breeze.

No plans for the weekend, so I hope to get some more images colored up.  I think I might even try some Christmas cards!

Have a great weekend everyone, and don't forget to check out Bloggabella for all of this weeks entries.

Next weeks challenge is Paper Piercing or Sewing. Play along and you have a chance to win some Bella Bucks!

Little Peeps

Hello,
It's Wednesday already again (how does that happen)? Today I have a a cute card to share with you.  I'm using Little Peeps Flower Vase.  Oh how I love this little Peep.  She was released at Emily's last release in August. I hope Emily has more in upcoming releases!
I stamped her on Bella's Bestest paper with Black Memento, and colored with prismas and gamsol.   Paper is from Cosmo Cricket - Girl friday line.  I've had this paper a while now, but never used it - it was just too pretty to cut into (yeah I'm  a hoarder - I love papers - that's why I usually buy 2-3 of each, so when I cut into a piece I still have another full sheet - yes I seriously have a problem don't I?).
Okay sorry, back to the card - The border punch is from EK Success.  I added lots of glitter to the flowers and a tiny white pearl in Little Peeps hair - cute eh?

Thanks for peeking in.  See you on Friday for another Bellariffic Challenge. This weeks challenge is a Sketch Challenge, done by our very own Lindabella.  Won't you join us?  Here is the sketch.  Submit your entries  to Emily by Thursday night.

Autumn Days

With the nice cool fall weather we have been having here in SW Ontario,(love it!) it put me in the mood to do up a 'fallish' card.

I bought this stamp last month when I was at the Heirloom show in Novi, MI. The stamp is from Impression Obsession.  They had so many beautiful stamps, it was hard to choose.
I had this piece of paper from Basic Grey- Origins in mind for this card.  I thought with the leaves down the side it would be a just perfect fit.  I  colored with pencils and gamsol and dusted around the edge (with nesties left in place) with versamagic wheat. Finished it off with 3 Bella dots and a piece of lime green and orange ribbon secured with a BG brad, and of course some glitter on the flowers!

See you tomorrow with another post.

Celebrate...

Happy Sunday! And back to work tomorrow - (Ugh!). Why do weekends seem to fly by and weekdays drag?

I have a pretty card to share with you today.  The idea came to me as I was working on my Paper Pickle class cards. So I experimented with a couple of Stamping Bella stamps, and since I don't have very many of the 'flower' stamps (which is about to change, my list keeps growing of stamps I need) I decided that Dandelion Bunches seen to work the best for what I had in mind.

I embossed the Dandelion Bunches on cream card stock using Ocean View E/P. I've had this for quite a while and have never used it.  It seemed to match the papers I choose to use the best. I then layered it on a piece of aqua c/s. Then I punched out 3 layers (cream, aqua and dk brown) using my EK Success scallop border punch.  The DP paper is from Basic Grey - Cappella line - like who doesn't love this line- it is gorgeous, it seems to work well for any occasion - wedding, birthday, sympathy etc, just an all around universal line of paper.
The flowers just seemed a bit bare, so went rooting through my sentiments trying to find something small enough that would work (again, I have lots of sentiments on my list to get as well- I have very few).  I like the Celebrate definition but didn't want to use the whole definition part, so I masked off the rest , inked up Celebrate and stamped it using Versafine Sepia.
I finished the card off by adding some ribbon and some tiny pearls in the corners of the center piece.
Thanks for peeking in my cupboard today.  Have a great week.

See you soon,
Pauline

Back to School

Autumn days, don't you just love them?  We've been having much cooler weather this last week and looks like the next week the same.  I love this weather, windows open, that nice crispness in the air when you wake up in the morning as you are huddled down in bed where it is nice and warm.
This week the kids headed back to school hence this weeks Bellariffic challenge.

So I decided to color up
Spencer the Bookworm from the Green Bean Baby line. I did all the usual - stamp image on Bella's Bestest Paper with black memento ink and colored with pencils and gamsol,  although I did color the skintones with Copics.  I like the color of the skin I can achieve by using the Copics. After cutting out the image with my nesties,  I left the die on and used some Versamagic Wheat ink and sponged inside the die to give some shading.

Now I love how  Spencer turned out as far as the coloring goes, but overall not really happy on the card itself.  I don't know what it is, the paper, the brown border loops, I just don't know, but just didn't turn out the way I thought it would.  Ever have that happen to you? Frustrating isn't it?  I spent almost 2 hours playing with a layout, finally this is what I ended up sticking with.

The papers are from my 6x6 pk The Boyfriend by Cosmo Cricket.  I used a new border punch I got - its from Martha Stewart called Ribbon Loop. Kind of cool eh?
I dotted his eyes with a black sakura glaze pen, just to make them stand out a bit more.  Added a piece of twill tape and a button.

Don't forget to stop over at Bloggabella to see what the other Babes have  done as well as all the entries. Be sure to leave a comment for your chance to win some Bella bucks!!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Peek a Boo...

That's what Pookie Lollipop is saying.  Isn't she adorable?  I colored her up using my pencils and gamsol.  She was cut out using my circle nestie and the bright green layer was cut with a blossom nestie.  Not sure who makes the DP paper I used, it was just scraps left over in my scrap basket.  I brought it all together by adding lots of glitter, ribbon, some stitching and buttons.

That's it for today ladies, short and sweet.

Don't forget to play along with us Babes in the Bellariffic challenge. This weeks challenge is "Back to School" so get those pencils sharpen, you still have time to submit your entry to Emily by thursday night.  See you on friday....

Another Ketto Card

Good morning,

Since I was in the  'animal' theme mode from last friday's Bellariffic challenge, I decided to color up Felix Ketto with a Flower.  So as usual I stamped on Bella's Bestest paper with Black Memento and colored with pencils and gamsol.

I added many colors to Felix, trying to get him to look like he had fur - I don't know how well you can see in the picture, but I think I captured what I ventured out to do. What do you think?  I added a bit of cloud shading in behind and some grass at his feet.  I just hope someday I'm able to do grass as good as Linda and Paula. It's not as easy as you would think.(sigh!)

I used paper from the 6x6 pk of
Earth Love by Cosmo Cricket.  Have I told you how much I love the 6x6 paper packs? Well I do! I have so many 6x6 pks, I need to start using them, I can't hoard them forevah! lol!.
I used nesties labels 12 to cut out the image and the layer behind. (BTW - the card base and the layer behind Felix is actually a rust color not red like it looks) Border punch is by SU.  I finished up with some glitter on the flower, used glossy accents for the middle of the flower, added some ribbon, flower and a button.

Thanks for peeking in today.I hope you enjoy the rest of the long weekend.
Till next post....

Happy "Bark" day...

Awe so glad it is Friday!  It's been a very frustrating week for me at work, but so glad to see today come, so I can enjoy a 3 day weekend. So hard to believe that the kids go back to school on tuesday.  Where did the summer go? I love the fall for the cooler weather, but hate to see our long daylight days become shorter.
So onto today's card.

As soon as I heard this weeks BellaRIFFIC friday theme was 'animal' I knew exactly what I wanted to do.  I pulled out Spotty Ketto and stamped it on Bella's Bestest paper with Black Memento ink, and colored with my prismacolor pencils & gamsol. I cut it out using my square nesties, and then used the large square scallop die for the brown layer behind the image.

I used Basic Grey Max & Whiskers 6x6 papers.  This line of papers worked very well with Spotty.  The large scallops on the yellow paper was punched with an EK Success border punch. I knew somewhere I had some 'doggy' twill tape that I wanted to add to the card, so I went digging into my huge, huge bucket of ribbon.  I don't have it all rolled around dowels yet, so it took me a while to find it, but I succeeded! (note to self - when nothing to do, clean up ribbon bucket!).  Now Spotty needed to have a sentiment on the front, so I decided to use Happy "Bark" Day which came from the Ketto's Dog Accessories set. It was too long, so stamped each word separately, so I could use as 3 words.  Finishing touches -  a bit of glitter on Spotty, and I used a black sakura glaze pen for his nose, eye and collar.
And there you have it. Isn't he cute?

The layout I used is a sketch from Taylored Expressions.

Have a wonderful long weekend everyone!

Whassup?

Goodmorning,

Whassup with me you ask? Well I'm gonna tell you anyways - hehe. All I can say is that I hope I have a better day at work  today than yesterday.  There was a glitch in our computer system, and I lost everything on my computer yesterday, yes everything! all my programs, spreadsheets, all my emails --YIKES!!! I was not a happy camper when I got into work to say the least. It was so frustrating, (GRRRRRRRR) everything I do is based on my computer (I work in an accounting office). I'm hoping it all can be restored today.

On a happy note, I want to share with you Chatty Cathy.  Now I had her colored up a long time ago, when I took one of Paula's classes over in Michigan.  So the color choices were all hers, but I think I did good by matching my papers up when I decided to put her together.  I think the paper is from Crate.  I cut out the sentiment using one of the nesties tag dies, and added a button to cover the hole in the tag.
Now a card is not complete without some glitter, so added some glitter to her flowers and used my sakura glaze pen for the dots on her dress.  Finished the card with some stitching and ribbon.

Alright better get moving, have to head off to work, hopefully I'm a much happier person at work today!

Enjoy your day, I'll be back tomorrow with my BellaRIFFIC friday post. See you then.
