Full of Glee

Isn't it always a 'feel good' moment when you need a card to send and you actually have one to do so?
My sister's anniversary is early next week, so needed to get a card in the mail to her today.

Image is from Penny Black - full of glee.

I started by embossing the image onto some Strathmore Mixed Medium 140lb watercolour paper with white embossing powder.  I pulled out my Zig Clean  markers to colour. Rather than add the ink directly to the paper and watercolour, I added the marker to an acrylic block and picked up the colour with a wet paint brush.  Since these markers are very vibrant in colours it was easier to get a transition from light to dark areas by doing it this way.  Once the flowers were dry I went around them with a couple shades of grey.

I used PTI - Leaf and sprig die for the grey border.

Finished off with some sequins and a bow.

Have a wonderful day!

I would be full of glee if I'd made this gorgeous card! What a beautiful stamp! The white embossing is always so pretty for watercolors, and on the Strathmore paper you got such a wonderfully loose watercolor look with your Zigs. I love the frame, too. Delicate and not too fussy. Sometimes I think I'd be happy framing everything. The gray is a lovely neutral choice for your colors. I'm delighted to see your beautiful card this morning, Pauline!

Oh, Pauline, this is gorgeous, and I too would be happy to have made this card and had it ready for the mail. I so need to build up my card stash with general cards to send out. This is one of them. Stunning with your beautiful coloring, and I love the soft gray around the flowers. Stunning frame too that I must remember to use (you probably enabled me to get it -- haha!). Truly, this is exquisite, Pauline, and I love that sweet bitty ribbon to finish it off with the sequins! Hugs!
