Your one of a kind

Hey everyone!  I just wanted to say Thank you for all the visits and comments you have left on my blog this year.  It's people like you that keep me inspired to keep creating and sharing.

The card I created for today's post, is a total copy.  I was kind of in a rush - last minute request- for a 50th birthday card for her Mom just before Christmas, and I really didn't have time to get this done, so I went browsing through the gallery of one of my favourite stamp companies - Flourishes.  I have so many of their stamp sets, but this set is one of my favourites -Magnolias.  I found the perfect card that was originally created by Danielle Kennedy - you can see her version here - and this is my version.

Image was stamped on 100 lb white card stock (Cougar).  I then stamped it again on another piece and coloured this one with copics.  I then cut out a portion of the image and applied pop dots to raise it over the original image.   Designer paper is from MME - vanity fair - the blue layer is a piece of bazzill I had in my scrap bin.  Finished off with some cream lace, some silk ribbon from PTI and 3 prima flowers.  I added glitter to the petals and center of flower.  It turned out beautiful. Thanks Danielle for the inspiration on this one!

I have today and tomorrow off work, so plan on working on some more cards.  I have another order of 3 birthday, 3 wedding shower and 3 wedding cards to do.

Wishing everyone a very Happy New Year!

Hugs,
Pauline

This is a stunner, Pauline! I love the idea of coloring and popping up just a portion of the image. Flourishes' stamps are so beautifully illustrated this technique works very well, and it's certainly quicker than coloring the whole thing. Your sprinkling of glitter is so pretty, and I love the flower cluster with the ribbon. I think I recognize the designer paper -- BasicGrey Perhaps? It was one of my favorites and one of very few pads I've finished off to the end. Happy new year!
