Snow buddies

I woke up this morning to some snow on the ground maybe 1/2" or so, and they are calling for chance of freezing rain today with snow mix and temps are dropping - not my kind of weather.

With the feeling of winter outside I thought this card would be perfect for my post today.
I'm using a stamp form LOTV - Lilly of the Valley,  called
Snow buddies.

It took me no time at all to colour, but took forever to pick out papers and a layout.  Do any of you ever struggle with that part of card making?  I coloured the image with prismacolour pencils and blended out with gamsol.

Other than that it is a pretty simple card to make.  Jingle bell die is from Memory Box, and the sentiment is from PTI.

I added some white flock to the penguins hat, and added glitter to the ground and the snow dots.

A quick post before heading off to work.  Have yourself a wonderful day and keep warm to those in the cooler parts of the continent!  Back again real soon,

Pauline

Oh, I struggle! Sometimes I just make layouts and add the images later. That's always easiest and most fun, but usually I start with an image I simply want to color -- then the struggle ensues. I love LOTV. This image is darling and your shading is so delicate and perfect. Just the right touch to bring the image to life. Your coloring is always masterful and inspiring and I so look forward to seeing anything you color.

Polar bears just capture winter frosty themes so well. Beautifully done Pauline. Hugs!

very pretty card.

I am pleased to know that it takes someone else as long to pick out all the right papers. Sometimes I get so frustrated with looking for all the correct colors.

Do you happen to remember where you may have purchased the Heirloom stamp that matches the 2010 Spellbinders die? The post from Nov. 2011 said it was a our daily bread stamp.

I have this Heirloom spellbinders die, in fact just used it tonight. And made do with a stamp for the center then after finishing it I came looking for ornament cards and found yours. I had no idea they made stamps to fit the Heirloom dies.
