Your one of a kind

Hey everyone!  I just wanted to say Thank you for all the visits and comments you have left on my blog this year.  It's people like you that keep me inspired to keep creating and sharing.

The card I created for today's post, is a total copy.  I was kind of in a rush - last minute request- for a 50th birthday card for her Mom just before Christmas, and I really didn't have time to get this done, so I went browsing through the gallery of one of my favourite stamp companies - Flourishes.  I have so many of their stamp sets, but this set is one of my favourites -Magnolias.  I found the perfect card that was originally created by Danielle Kennedy - you can see her version here - and this is my version.

Image was stamped on 100 lb white card stock (Cougar).  I then stamped it again on another piece and coloured this one with copics.  I then cut out a portion of the image and applied pop dots to raise it over the original image.   Designer paper is from MME - vanity fair - the blue layer is a piece of bazzill I had in my scrap bin.  Finished off with some cream lace, some silk ribbon from PTI and 3 prima flowers.  I added glitter to the petals and center of flower.  It turned out beautiful. Thanks Danielle for the inspiration on this one!

I have today and tomorrow off work, so plan on working on some more cards.  I have another order of 3 birthday, 3 wedding shower and 3 wedding cards to do.

Wishing everyone a very Happy New Year!

Hugs,
Pauline

Hole in One

Hi everyone - hope you had a wonderful Christmas however you spent it.  Ours was a very low key, quiet day, and even my birthday (dec 26th) was very low key.  I did absolutely nothing, I was going to work on cards, but instead I watched movies and browsed through blogs and pinterest.

My card today is one that I made for a co-worker who wanted a card for her Dad's 50th - she said make it fun and he loves golf.  So this is what I came up with.  Image is from Art Impressions - which includes the sentiment!

Image was stamped on 100lb white card stock (Cougar) using black memento then coloured using copics.  Shading and ground cover was done with prismacolour pencils and blended out with gamsol.

Designer paper is from Basic Grey - Marjolaine - the card base and diamond strip is Night of Navy although it does look like black in the picture.

For the diamond strip I used a die from MFT - it fits perfectly with the paper don't you think?  Needed a bit more masculinity to it, so wrapped some twine around the card and added a hand made photo corner  to the top and adhered a gold flat nail head sticker to that.

I also needed to make her Mom a 50th birthday card, so will be back in a couple of days to share that one with you.
Thanks for stopping by today for a visit.  See you again real soon,

Pauline

The prince of peace,

I can't believe we are a week away from Christmas Day! I thought I was all done with making Christmas cards for this years send out, but well you know how it goes, you forgot to send to someone and then you receive a card in the mail from them, so you scrabble to make another to get it out in the mail.  This happened to me on Monday, but all is good I managed to put a couple of cards together and they went out in the mail yesterday.  So now I think I have everyone covered, so anything I make now in the line of Christmas cards will go for next year.  I really need to get a head, and I say that every year and never do, but I'm determined to make it happen this time.

The card I'm sharing today, I made a few weeks back.  Verse is from PTI.

Supplies used:

Paper - Authentique, pure poppy, confetti cream
Ink - pure poppy, antique linen
Dies - Memory Box (poppystamp) pointsettia, Spellbinders - resplendent rectangles
glitter, red seam binding ribbon

Thanks for the visit, till next time,

Pauline

Snow buddies

I woke up this morning to some snow on the ground maybe 1/2" or so, and they are calling for chance of freezing rain today with snow mix and temps are dropping - not my kind of weather.

With the feeling of winter outside I thought this card would be perfect for my post today.
I'm using a stamp form LOTV - Lilly of the Valley,  called
Snow buddies.

It took me no time at all to colour, but took forever to pick out papers and a layout.  Do any of you ever struggle with that part of card making?  I coloured the image with prismacolour pencils and blended out with gamsol.

Other than that it is a pretty simple card to make.  Jingle bell die is from Memory Box, and the sentiment is from PTI.

I added some white flock to the penguins hat, and added glitter to the ground and the snow dots.

A quick post before heading off to work.  Have yourself a wonderful day and keep warm to those in the cooler parts of the continent!  Back again real soon,

Pauline

Glory to God in the Highest

Hi everyone, hope your week is going well so far.  I'm back today to share another Christmas card I made a few weeks ago.

This one is using a Justrite set I have had for a couple of years called Rejoice Set.

supplies used:

Paper - rustic cream, SU Bravo burgundy, kraft, scrap designer papers I think might be from MME
Ink - always artichoke - (outside ring), versafine smokey grey - words, and I'm not sure of the lighter green I used for the flourishes around the sentiment (never wrote it down when I did the card)
Dies - spellbinder ovals, borderabilities - scalloped borders two, heartfelt creations - decorative oval window
Misc - amber rhinestones, burgundy chiffon ribbon, gold twine.

Thanks for the visit today, see you real soon as I have more cards to share with you.

Have a furry Christmas

Can you believe it is Dec 1 already? Last week I managed to complete all my Christmas card orders for this year - what a relief.  I think last year I was still finishing up orders until Dec 10th - so I feel pretty good how this years went.  I do have 2 cards to do for a co-worker but that's it.  So for the next month I plan on continuing to work on cards for next Christmas, since I have all my stamps and papers out.

My card today is a really cute one.  I'm using a stamp set from Simon Says.

Supplies used:

Copics, black memento, black versafine (verse), PTI ribbon, MS Snowflake punch, Spellbinder hextagon die, Studio Calico - wooden snowflake, white flock (trim and pom pom on hat), white inkssentials pen for the polka dots on the cats scarf, glitter (used on the background polka dots).

Just an overall cute holiday card.

Thanks for stopping by,
Pauline
