After rain on Friday and Saturday morning, it cleared up in the afternoon, so we decided to take a drive out to Rondeau Provincial Park (it's about 1/2 drive or so), since we haven't been anywhere to see birds since the weather hasn't been that great on the weekends.
We were quite surprised at how many we did see. Here are some of our favourite pictures Bill took - enjoy!
Thanks for stopping by.

Oh, Pauline, what beautiful birds and wonderful photographs! I so love birds, but my mom was the real bird-watcher. She would have loved to see these. She loved sitting on their back room with three open sides with windows, and she fed the birds in separate feeds to attract different ones. She especially loved cardinals and also loved the nuthatch. Precious reminder of her, sweet friend. Thanks for this post! Hugs...and keep warm!!
Hi Pauline,
Such lovely photos. With living in the countryside, we too have many varieties of birds that visit us now the weather is getting colder.
Much love,

Oh, wonderful photos! Thank you to Bill for identifying the birds, too. The Downy Woodpecker was in our yard the other day and we'd never seen it before. Now I'll be able to tell Rich what it is. We generally see two other kinds of Woodpeckers, but not the Downy. Our Blue Jays are very different. We have the great big ones like I mentioned before. Look just like cardinals, but blue. We have hummingbird feeders out for the Annas who overwinter here, but thinking about seed feeders as well. Had them before, but they attracted rats and cats. We were afraid we might be feeding the cats, if you know what I mean. We'll have to come up with a different plan. I so enjoyed these photos, Pauline. Bill gets the most marvelous shots! Thank you for sharing them. I'm going to look at each up close again, now.
Your husband takes the most beautiful photos!
sigh....these are so amazing. I'll say it again. That Bill of yours is one talented guy. :-)
