Celeste is ready to party!

Happy Friday everyone, and a 3 day weekend for me, gotta love it!  As I'm writing this post I'm in the middle of tears - why you ask, well I'm watching Hello/Goodbye.  OMG it's such a great show, it is filmed in Toronto at the  Pearson International Airport,  and the host talks to people that are waiting for the arrivals of loved ones that have been absent from Canada or leaving Canada to go abroad anywhere from a few weeks to years. Oh my goodness, it's such a happy/good feeling show (happy cry)when loved ones are coming home but for the ones that are leaving (sad cry) it pulls at your heart strings.  I am such a 'softee' I cry so easily. Okay, show is over, lets get on with my card.

I was asked by a co-worker to make a '50th' birthday card for a friend of hers.  She wanted on of the AI images, so I decided to use Celeste. Doesn't she look like she is having a good time? Celeste is ready to party!

I used copics to colour and the ground shading was done with prismacolour pencils. I cut the image out using spellbinders square die and then layered this onto papers by MME - Stella & Rose - Hattie papers.

I added some glossy accents to her glasses and the wine glass.  I was going to put '50' on the card front, but the number dies I had were too large.  Digging through my embellishments I came across some glitter chip board pieces which seem to work perfectly.

Enjoy your weekend, for those on the east coast, be safe - stay warm.

Hi Pauline,

Love the card, am sure the recipient will love it too. Celeste looks really happy and she has still got a full glass of wine, what will she look like when she has drunk it!!! You go girl.

Much love,

P.S. Love your new picture - so peaceful and the colours are stunning.

Pauline, I love Celeste. You are a master at making cards. You can work with so many different medias/techniques. I love how you can switch from copics to colour pencils and always get these beautiful results. You are so versatile. Thanks for sharing this card with us.

Oh, awesome! And so fun with those papers and the image perfectly matched in color. I love all things AI. Just finished one, in fact. Love the glittery flourish. It's just the perfect touch and, again, the perfect color. You make me want to go straight to my stamp room and color. Wonder if I'll have time? Your coworker will love this! Your program sounds right up my alley. If I can laugh and cry in the same show then I've been entertained! Have a good day, Pauline!

Oh, Pauline!! I just love this Celeste card, and your coloring is gorgeous! And the DP you've used is perfect for her top! Amazing! She could really be "the bomb" down here in South Florida - hehe! And your coworker is going to love this and probably love it more because it doesn't have the "50" on it to date it. So things work out for a reason. And, oh my, I just love shows and movies like that. When I was growing up, my mom and we would watch all these old movies where you would always cry at the end for different reasons like that too. So glad to see this beautifully done card, sweet friend! Sending warm hugs and love!
