Sweet Posies for me

Hi everyone and Happy Boxing Day - that is what we call Dec 26th here in Canada.  Not only is it boxing day, but it is my Birthday!! woohoo for me. -- 29 again!  LOL

It's been a very relaxing day as I guess our birthday's should be right?  Bill and I took a drive this morning in search of some Snowy Owls that are in our surrounding area.  We were able to spot 5 of them, what a beautiful bird.  Bill took some photo's, not sure how close up we will be in order to crop them since they were quite a distance away.  Looking through the binoculars they were gorgeous. I'll share them if they turn out.

So this afternoon I decided to work on some cards.  My stash basket is empty so need to replenish.
I pulled out a new stamp set from Justrite called Sweet Posies.

I started by white embossing the image on some Tim Holtz water colour paper.  To colour the image I pulled out my Peerless swatches and painted away.  This is the first time I actually coloured an image using the Peerless, I'm quite pleased on how this turned out.

I then cut out the image using a circle die, but first cutting the stems up to where I wanted the circle to cut so the stems would hang over the circle edge.  I then edged the circle using my Krylon Silver pen.
The image was then layered onto  another piece of white c/s cut using the larges die from the spellbinder royal circle die set.

My card base is 5.5 x 5.5.  Along the front edge I taped down one of the borders from Spellbinders scalloped borders two and ran this through my big shot.  I did the same with the designer paper, and then adhered the dp to the card front.  Cut a strip of matching paper  2 x 5.5 and adhered this to the left side then cut a .25 x 5.5 of the background paper and layered this onto of the stripe.  Adhered some fushia seam binding ribbon starting at the top edge then brought it down behind the image. I then adhered a bow.  Finished off with some sequins and added glitter using my wink of stella clear pen to the posies.

Supplies:
Stamp: Justrite - sweet posies,
Dies: Spellbinders - standard circle, royal circle, scalloped borders two
Paper- cougar white 110 lb, Kaisercraft - chanteuse collection
Ink - Peerless swatches
Misc - silver krylon pen, sequins, wink of stella clear pen, seam binding ribbon

Thanks for stopping by for a visit. Enjoy your day.

Well, happy birthday, Pauline! I'm only one day late. I hope you had a lovely Christmas, as well. We are enjoying those sweet, quiet days after all the festivities and just relaxing. Took the dogs out yesterday. You've made your signature gorgeous card today! Beautiful image and coloring and design with a fabulous die cut circle and edge. Love the out of the box cut and the sweet bow with the ribbon ending just at the edge of the circle. An absolute delight to the eyes, sigh...
