Circle of roses

Hey everyone.  I'm trying to stay awake while I waiting for  a phone call from my daughter.  She is at her friends wedding, so I offered to drive and pick her up so she could have a few drinks.  So thought I would share a birthday card I made a couple of weeks ago.  Made this in between working on Christmas cards.  I ended up making 2 of these, I need to build up my stash so I can replenish my sale basket at my hair dressers.

I'm using a Memory Box stamp I bought last year.  Yep, another stamp I dug out to use. I'm bad for that, buy a stamp, don't use it right away, and it gets tucked into one of my stamp drawers and then completely forget about it! But... at least I'm slowly getting around to using them! LOL.

I started by stamping the Memory Box script in MFT gray grout ink.  I then took the circle of roses stamp and coloured onto the rubber using markers, huffed, then stamped over the text.  I cut the image out using a circle die, then layered this onto another piece of white c/s, cut using a spellbinder flower blossom die (not sure the correct name of the die). I inked the edges using distress ink gathered twigs. I then layered this onto a piece of chocolate brown which was  cut using spellbinders labels 22.  I stamped the birthday sentiment using memento rich cocoa onto some scrap white, cut it out using the smallest of labels 22, then dusted the edges with gathered twigs. I used foam tape to pop the sentiment up.

The top layer - pink paper is from MME - miss caroline - dolled up, and not sure on the polka dots and stripes.  I can't find the 6x6 pad I took it from.  (I need to write my supplies down as I do them because if I don't post it right away, I seem to forget some of the items.) The edges of the paper were sponged with gathered twigs as well.

Finished off with some pink velvet lace, sequins, twine and some prima flowers.  I added a gray epoxy dot to the center of the flower.

Well it's getting late for this ole' gal, think I go lay down on the sofa and wait for my call.  Thanks for stopping by.

Hi Pauline,

Really pretty card. Thank you. Being a taxi service is on your CV for being a mum. Been there, done it, worn the t-shirt. Loved every minute!!!!

Much love,

That little circle of flowers is so sweet. Makes a wonderful feminine card. Don't feel bad. I have lots of uninked stamps too. Lovely card Pauline. Hugs!

This stamp is as pretty now as it ever was! Actually, it's kinda fun to pull out those old stamps and use them for the first time. I always feel a little sheepish about it, but when I see you doing it here I feel a little better. Thanks for that! Your card is really gorgeous. Love the lace and crushed velvet. The rose circle is so delicate and pretty. Bet this won't last long a the shop. I need to make some pretty cards for my hairdressers. Don't know how well they'll go over, but we'll see.
