Mother's Day

Happy Friday! I love friday's then again who doesn't! :).

This weeks challenge was Mother's Day.  I kind of struggled with what to colour up for this challenge, rummaged through my bella binders looking for the perfect image.  I kept flipping back to the flower section, so that's what I ended up doing.
It's been almost 2 yrs since I lost my Mom, and every year for Mother's Day, she would want flowers for her garden. She loved flowers, any color, any kind.  They always made her smile.

So for the card, I decided to colour up Wildflower Trio.

Stamped it on bella's bestest paper and coloured with prismacolour pencils.  I based my colours on the designer papers from Memory Box.  Purples are one of my favourite colours, but sometimes find it hard to match cardstock with, because there are so many tones of purple out there, some with pinkish tones, some with blue tones.  I cut out the flowers using labels #18 s/binder die then layered it onto some deep purple c/s cut with labels #9 die. I left the die in place and sponged some versamagic spring pansy ink around the image.
Finished it off with stitching, glitter, ribbon, prima flowers and some punched leaves using Martha Stewart leaf punches.

If you would like to see more Mother's Day entries, hop on over to Bloggabella to see what the other babes and sistahs did this week.

Next weeks challenge is May flowers - images, paper, anything flower goes!  Email Emily your card by thursday night to have your name entered into the draw for a chance to win some bella bucks.

Have a wonderful weekend.  Thanks for stopping by.

Another bella card

As promised back with the other card I made  for a friend.
Today's card is another Stamping Bella image called Dogwalkabella.

I started with stamping the image on bella's bestest paper and coloured with prismacolor pencils. Using the large square s/binder die I cut out the image, layered it onto some navy c/s and stitched around the image.  The designer paper is from MME - Stella Rose Hattie.  Lot of the colour tones in this pack are blues and yellows,  which was what I based colouring my image on.  The border strip behind the image is Optic Dot by Martha Stewart.
Finished touches - ribbon, stitching, black glaze pen for the dogs nose and eyes, and clear glaze for the flower on her purse.

Just a reminder, you still have time to submit your entry for this weeks challenge. Email it to Emily by thursday night.  Theme: Mother's Day.

See you later.  Thanks for stopping by.

Presentahbella

Happy Monday! For some of you lucky folk, you have the day off work, but for me, nope I'm back to work.  I hope you had a wonderful Easter weekend, where ever you were. The weather kind of co-operated, in the 70's on saturday, but yesterday was a bit cooler, in the 50's.  But not complaining, better than snow!

I managed to colour up a couple of birthday cards this weekend per a friends request, so I will show you one of them today. I coloured up Presentahbella.

Well you know the routine, I stamped on bella's bestest paper with black memento ink and colour with Copics! yep decided to use my Copics this time areound.  I did use my pencils though for the blue shading as well as the hair and added some shading to the purple dots. Trimmed her up and then layered her onto some purple c/s.  The DP I used is from Crate - not sure of the name because I found this in my scrap bin, I think it is a couple of years old. Sentiment is from Verve. Added some crystal rhinestones on the scallops, some purple ribbon and a prima flower.  On the present I glittered the larger dots and used my clear glaze pen on the smaller ones.
I hope she likes this one.  Will be back on Wednesday with the other card.

Don't forget our challenge this week is Mother's Day.  I know you will make your Mom a card, so why not use a Bella image and enter a chance to win some bella bucks.  Just email Emily by thursday night.

Thanks for stopping by.

A Magical Day

Well I spent part of yesterday catching up on my colouring, and managed to get 3 images coloured and one put together.  I hope and can get a few more coloured before I go back to work on Monday, to get ahead.

For today's card, I reached for another new image (well new to me).  Yes it's another Pixie. These are such adorable images, how could you not want to colour them!  I have Peachy Pixie to share.

I stamped her on bella's bestest white with black memento ink.  Coloured her with prismacolour pencils and blended with gamsol. Next, I used the slender oval s/binder dies as well as the scallop to cut the next couple of layers. I couldn't decide which of these papers to use from DCWV - Latte matstack- so I cut strips and used all 3! I then stitched them onto a piece of brown c/s.  The sentiment can be found here. I just love the bella's sentiments using mixed fonts.
Finished it off with some - oh so pretty Martha Stewart mauve seam binding ribbon, and lots of glitter.

Enjoy the rest of your Easter weekend, and thanks for stopping by.

Free Form challenge

Happy Friday, and time for another bellariffic challenge.  This weeks theme was Free Form - any type of card you want as long as it includes a Bella image.
So for this week I pulled out my new stamp I picked up from Stamping Bella at Scrapfest called Paisley Pixie.  I just adore these little pixies.

As usual, the image is stamped on bella's bestest paper with black memento ink and coloured her up using prismacolor pencils and gamsol.  This image is just a bit too large for the s/binder dies, so I just cut it down to the size I wanted.  Layered onto some coordinating cardstock and stitched around the image. I used some designer papers from  My Mind's Eye called Good day Sunshine.  I punched an eyelet border using a MS border punch.  I used a Bella sentiment - well only part of it - the actual sentiment says A Big Thank You - well it was too big, so I just stamped off the Thank You part, punched it out using an oval punch and adhered it to the front of my card.
The ribbon is from a spool I found in a clearance bin at Micheals a while back.  I just love the brightness of the yellow, so springy!
Finished touches - lots of glitter.

Be sure to stop over at Bloggabella to see all the other amazing 'free form' cards that were submitted this week.  Leave a comment for a chance to win some bella bucks.

With Mother's day a couple of weeks away, we decided next week's challenge would be just that - Mother's Day. Hope you have time to join in the fun!

Thanks for stopping by.  I wish everyone a wonderful Easter weekend.

Pixie #2

Hi everyone!
I have for you today another Pixie image. These Pixies come in a set of 4, so this is the second one I have coloured up.  I believe this one is called Prisc Pixie.
I stamped her on bella's bestest paper and coloured her up using my prismacolor pencils and gamsol. After cutting her out with the oval die, I sponged some versamagic thatched straw around her. The designer paper is from Papertrey.  Purples are a hard match but I thought this paper matched up pretty good.
Finished with some gathered ribbon, baubles, glitter and  used some liquid applique for the dots on her dress, to give it the swiss dot look. I just realized I didn't even do any sewing on this card! Hmmm.. oh well.

Just a reminder for those who would like to play along in our challenge this friday - it's an easy one - FREE FORM - so any layout, any colour just as long as it is a bella image.  Email Emily your card by thursday night.  Bella bucks are up for grabs!

Thanks for stopping by,

Somthing Sweet

Now your probably thinking something sweet to eat right? well as much as I love sweets - I have a very sweet tooth, today's sweetness is a card!

Yesterday, Lindabella and myself went over to visit Paulabella and her BFF Mary for some just down time, to chat and get creative.  So while Linda and Paula were working on their canvas projects I colored.  Now I must say I don't think I could ever do a canvas, I just don't have the imagination they do. I'm sure they will post their completed project so be sure to check out their blogs in the next few days.  They will WOW you!

So for my card today, I coloured up Is that a cupcake on your head? This is a sweet image by Christy Croll.

I stamped her on bella's bestest paper using black memento ink.  Coloured her with my prismacolor pencils and blended with gamsol (OMS). The image has a frame around it which I wasn't fussy on so cut around the image and layered it on a piece of white c/s.  Next layer is a piece of chocolate brown cut with the lacey square s/binder die. The lacey scallop border was punched using an EK Success border punch called Abstract Flower. DP is from DCWV called The Sweet Pack, lots of scrumptious papers, all glittery and fun.
For the last layer I embossed the chocolate brown c/s using the swiss dot embossing folder.  Finished with some glitter, a piece of turquoise seam binding a button, and some stitching. I didn't realize until after I had the card all done there is a sentiment that comes with this image and it says: You're so Sweet. I think I will stamp that on the inside. Finished card size 5 x 5.

I'll be back tomorrow with another card I coloured up at Paula's.

See you then and thanks for dropping by.

You perk me up

I can't believe it is Friday already.  This week has flown by- maybe it's because of the nice weather we have been having. The flower gardens are doing well, lots of greenery sprouting through the ground,  buds on the trees, and happy birds chirping! Awe the sounds and smells of spring, don't you just love it?

For this weeks bellariffic friday challenge we had a sketch to follow by Lindabella. Did you get a chance to play along?

For my card this week I choose Perk me Up Peeps - love these little peeps!

As usual, I used bella's bestest paper and colour with prismacolor pencils and blended with gamsol/oms. I used oval s/binder dies to cut out the image as well as the scallop layer underneath.  I left the die in place and sponged some wheat versafine around the image, it wasn't dark enough for what I wanted so added a bit of wild honey distress ink.
Papers I used are from the 6x6 Basic Grey - Sugar Rush. This stamp also came with a sentiment which I used - I stamped the sentiment then cut it in half to make it fit on the card. Finished with some stitching, and lots of glitter on the heart.

Be sure to stop over at Bloggabella to see how creative the rest of the sistah's were this week.  Be sure to leave a comment or two, for a chance to win some bella bucks.

Next weeks challenge is 'free form', so anything you want- layout or colours- your choice, as long as you use a bella image.  Then email it to Emily by thursday night.

Have a wonderful weekend.  Thanks for dropping by.

Morning Glories

With the weather being so nice these past few days, the smell of that spring air, grass turning green, and flowers popping up through the ground, that kind of got me in the mood to colour up some pretty flowers. I pulled out Morning Glories for Lulu.

.

Started off by stamping the morning glories on bella's bestest paper and coloured with prismacolor pencils and gamsol.  Used some pretty DP from Memory Box.
Finished with some paper rosettes, glitter and stitching.

Also, don't forget about this weeks challenge on friday.  It's a sketch, you can see it here.

Have a great day,
Pauline

Under the Sea

Had a fun day yesterday at Scrapfest in Kitchener.  Drove up with Lindabella, and once there met up with Paulabella and her BFF Mary, Cathabella and her Mom, Robinbella, Ebrubella, Helen and of course bella herself - Emily.  Emily and Isabelle were doing make n' takes on canvas.  Well you know who had to do one, no not me but Lindabella.  Here is a picture I took of her in action.  I tell you the finished masterpiece was Bellariffic Gorgeous!  I'm sure she will post her masterpiece on her blog.

Now, as far as my card goes for today, I'm using a new image I picked up from Stamping Bella at Scrapfest. I just couldn't resist these adorable memaids.
There are 3 to a set and it's called " 3 baby mermaids under the sea".

I stamped the mermaid on bella's bestest paper and colour her up with my prisma color pencils and blended with gamsol. Cut her out using my oval nestie and then sponged some sea breeze versamagic ink around her while the die was in place.
Layered her onto a piece of cherry red c/s cut out the with mega scallop oval.
The DP I used just fit so perfecting with these mermaid images.  Paper is from Cosmo Cricket called Salt Air.

Finished up with some stitching, a pearl,  and lots of glitter on her mermaid fins. Made a rosette out of yellow felt and punched a couple of leaves using MS punch. The real reason for the flower is because I had another idea of what to put there, I had punched a hole to put a brad and ribbon, but after I did that, didn't like the look so I had to cover up the hole!

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday.  It is beautiful  here in Chatham, sunny, breezy and 77.  Can't get any better than that!

Monochromatic card

Hi everyone! Well here we are again, for another bellariffic friday challenge.
This week we were to do a monochromatic card. I thought it was going to be soooo easy, well once I started, I was stumped! Seriously, I didn't have a clue what to colour or what papers to use.  I spent a whole night pondering over it.  I don't usually get stumped to often, but this challenge for some reason just threw me!

So the next night an idea popped into my head, so started pulling images out and playing with them and this is what I came up with. I was very pleased with the outcome.

The image I used was from Emily's March release called Scribble Garden. I love flowers, well anything nature related, and since I haven't inked up this stamp, I thought I would give it some lovin.  I stamped the image onto some cream cardstock using crumb cake ink. The dark scallop layer behind the image is actually not that dark in real, it's soft suede, but just couldn't get it to lighten up in the picture.  And you can see I used my new lacy oval s/binder die too! :)
Next layer is a piece of cream c/s embosed with my 'new' sizzix embossing folder.
OMG I am loving this folder.  The depth that it embosses just makes the details pop out that much more.  I dusted across the embossed area using crumb cake.
The DP is by Bo Bunny - not sure what collection it is from.
I also used Bella's happy birthday sentiment. I don't see this particular one on the website, but there are several others to choose from.
Finished off with a bit of copic colouring on the flowers E40, E41, and E30.  Added glitter to the flowers, then some micro pearls to the dots on the image.
Used some cream seam binding to tie the ribbon tag on and added a bow using my bow maker.

Be sure to stop by bloggabella today, to check out what the other babes and sistahs have submitted for this weeks challenge.

Next weeks challenge is a sketch by non other than our very talented  Lindabella!
Hope you get a chance to play along.

Also, tomorrow I'm off to Scrapfest in Kitchener with Linda.  We will be meeting up with a few more bella babes -  Paula, Cath, Robin and Paulas BFF - Mary.  We will spend lots of time at the Bella booth, so if you able to make it, stop by and say 'hi'!

Enjoy your weekend everyone.

A Sneaky Peak

If you have been visiting some of the other Babes blogs today, you would of seen some sneak peaks going on.  Yes, Emily has another release coming up on Tuesday.
I'm so excited after seeing some of the other images, like those new Pixies, Paula and Linda coloured - OMG - gorjus! and how about the new Green Bean baby image Dana coloured - simply adorable.

Okay, Okay, I know you want to see what I coloured up right? Well here she is, I think her name is "Sprout", and she is a Mo image!

 Isn't she adorable?
Sprout is stamped on bella's bestest paper and coloured with prismacolour pencils and gamsol.  I did use copics for her skin tones.  Just had to try out my new s/binder die I picked up at Pickle last week called Wonky Rectangles. The yellow mat behind Sprout was done by tracing the outside edge of the die, then I cut it out free hand.
I picked up some pretty papers yesterday when I was over at Arhivers in Michigan yesterday.  (I really didn't need to buy papers, but well you know, it just kind of jumped into my basket!).  It's called Beach Babe by Fancy Pants.  I knew I had this image to colour so I had that in my mind when I bought this paper.
And when I was at Archivers, what did I see? - yep you guessed - Stamping Bella images! It was so cool to see them in the store.  So I just happened to have some of my finished Bella cards with me (trying to match up some c/s), so I showed the gals that work there and they were so excited so see some of the images done up IRL! A couple of the customers even asked me for my blog name! I thought that we pretty cool!
Okay, sorry, I got away from the card deets! This image also comes with a sentiment- it was too long for where I wanted to put it so cut it in half.
Finished off with some felt flowers and a die cut sizzix leafy vine.

Be sure to check out the other Babes to see more sneak peaks over the next couple of days, and don't forget, about the release on Tuesday.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday!

Bella news and some Dots!

There has been a lot of excitement at Stamping Bella this past week.  If you haven't heard, I'll tell you - we have 3 new BELLA BABES - yes, not one, not two, but THREE! How cool is that.  Help me welcome these talented ladies:
Tammy Hershberger, Jessica Diedrich and Robin McKinley.

Also  today is bellariffic friday and our challenge this week is Polka Dots. Remember a few weeks back I coloured up Annie, well today I'm colouring up her mate - Arthur.

To colour up Arthur, I used bella's bestest paper and coloured using Copics. They have been feeling neglected, so thought I would give them some lovin.  I did use some pencil for the shading around Arthur and the grass.

I based my colours from  this paper by Cosmo Cricket called  Get Happy.  I've had this for a while so not sure how old it is.

Finished up using my new EK Success plaid border punch,  and added some buttons.

I used a Verve sketch from a few weeks ago for my layout.

Be sure to stop over at Bloggabella to see what the other Babes and Sistahs  have been up to this week. Next weeks challenge is Monochromatic, so same colours just different shades. There is some bella bucks up for grabs so play along then email your card to Emily by thursday night for a chance to win.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone, thanks for stopping by.
