Goin' to the chapel...

and were gonna get married, goin' to the chapel and were gonna get married, gee I really love you and were gonna get married, goin' to the chapel of love!
Okay does that not bring back memories from the Dixie Cups! Hehe! That song just popped into my head as I was thinking about writing this post.

So let me introduce to you Mr & Mrs Hitchedafellabella! How's that for a name!

Okay, going to toot my own horn- I just love this card! This image was colored over a year ago, I think it was Feb/10 when Paula came over to Linda's for a visit one saturday, and I'm just now getting around to putting it into a card.

I coloured it using prismacolor pencils and blended with gamsol.  The gorgeous frame work around the image was my new S/binder Rectangle Fleur de Lis.  Isn't it gorgeous? Now it looks black, but it is actually dark grey.
The white paper behind the image has been embossed already, and looks kind of like wrought iron, so thought it worked perfectly with this s/binder die.
Finishing touches - lots of glitter for the bride, a prima rose and some white satin ribbon (another fabricland purchase).

I think I might need to make a few more of these!

Don't forget about our friday challenge - anything POLKA DOTS!!

Buds Girl

Well it's Monday, and you know what that means - yes, back to the grind - well for most of us that is. It was a pretty good weekend all around, and even the weather co-operated, cool but at least the sun was shinning.  I didn't get a whole lot done in the line of card making, but did get this one done last night.

I coloured up a Mo image called Buds Girl, available in rubber at Stamping Bella.

She was coloured using both Prismacolor and Caran D'ache pencils, on bella's bestest paper. To cut her out I used my new s/binder die # 18! Don't you just love it? Since I used the largest size die in the set, I traced the outside of the frame on a piece of pink cardstock, so I could cut it out free hand to use as a border.
I also used some new papers - yes, I bought more, not that I needed any, but couldn't resist.  This paper is from Crate called Emma's shoppe collection.  This particular piece I used is a 12 x 12, only because in the 6x6 pk, they didn't include the yellow gingham, (like what were they thinking?) and I just needed that, so that's why I opt for the 12 x 12. I used an EK Success border punch down both sides of the gingham called Abstract Flower, then used another border die from MFT.  Finished it off with some ribbon, a double bow using the bow easy,  and pearls. Card measures 5 1/2 x 5 1/2.

So this friday April 1, we are back with our bellariffic friday challenge.  This week is POLKA DOTS!!! Hope you play along, if so, make sure you email Emily your submission by thursday night, for a chance to win some bella bucks!

Have a great day!

Sugar and spice...

and everything nice! That's what this adorable card is.  I just love the colours.

Did this card up a couple of weeks ago for a friend for a baby shower (girl), and just remembered I took a picture, so thought I would share it with you. Since I can't find my mojo, I decided to write up a post.

The sentiment I used is from a Verve set called To the Moon.  This was a fairly quick card, used lots of different spellbinder dies. The background paper is some that I have been hoarding from Paper Salon.  I just love the colours in it, so soft and pretty.  Finished it off with some white satin ribbon (from Fabricland- they have some of the prettiest colours and comes in a variety of widths - you buy it by the spool- and great prices), prima rose, used a MS leaf punch and and MS butterfly punch, and some pearls.

I think I take another stab at being creative.  So far this week, nothing! Just can't seem to get in the groove of it.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Pretty Petunia

Ah, so glad it's friday, but really where did this week go?

It's a good thing I had a couple of extra cards done last weekend, because I've been under the weather the last couple of days, and haven't felt like doing much of anything.

Although we have no challenge today, because Emily is away this weekend, I still have a card to share with you.  I pulled out Petunia Pixie, and stamped her onto bella's bestest paper.  I used prismacolour pencils and gamsol to colour her.  I took the advise of Paula and Linda as far as colouring the nest - lightest colour  on the front twigs and darker in behind - it worked perfectly.

Used my new EK  Success border doily punch for the coral layer.  DP is from SU - I think this is like 2 yrs old! I told you I'm a hoarder. Stamped this sentiment in black versafine ink and then cut it out using a s/binder ribbon tag die.
Finishing touches : stitching, Martha Stewart branch and leaf punches, seaming binding ribbon and a cream rosette by Prima, which I sprayed some Cherry Tattered angels glimmer mist to kind of match the DP paper. Card measures
5 1/2 x 5 1/2.

Don't forget we will be back to our friday challenge next week - April 1- so bring on the Polka Dots!

Enjoy your weekend,
Pauline

Backyard Birding!

Sorry ladies, no card to share with you today, but I don't think you will be disappointed, because I have  some gorgeous pictures (yes I'm partial) to share with you.

Hubs has been out taking pictures over the last few weeks, some in our backyard and some down near Windsor.  I am in 'awe' over them and wanted to share his talent with you.  He just does this for a hobby, nothing professional.

Take a look......

So what do you think?

I'll share some more with you later on.

Glitter Ritz Flutterby

It's Monday again, the start of another week.  I can't believe how fast the weekends go. But I did manage to get some colouring done, so quite happy about that.

Today's card is made for a little girl who is turning one! Wasn't quite sure which image to use but as I was going through my bella stamps, I came across this adorable image. Her name is Flutterby Huggabug

I stamped Flutterby on bella's bestest paper and colour her with prismacolor pencils and gamsol/oms.   I based my colours on this DP from Papersalon.  I've had this for a few years, I can understand why - it's so pretty, didn't want to cut into it, but I'm getting better at that.

Can you see how glittery her wings are? Well I tried a new product called Glitter Ritz.  Have you used it before? I picked up this product at Paper Pickle.  It's the Crytstal - Warm Highlight - which has gold tones to it, where the Cool has blue tones.  This glitter is micro fine.  I covered the wings entirely using a glue pen, waited for a bit until it was just tacking, then poured this glitter on, and burnished the area where the glue was, tapped off and viola - glittered wings.
The difference with using the glitter is that it is so smooth, there is no raised area as you would get with the other glitter, because you burnish it with you fingers and it's micro fine.  This glitter comes in a wide variety of colours.
I finished up the card by doing some stitiching and added some ribbon and a bow.

I'll see you in a couple of days with another adorable card.

Enjoy your day!

Teddybella

It's another Bellariffic challenge, and this week's was a layout.  I must say I absolutely loved this layout - thanks Dana! I will use this one again.

Today, I'm am showcasing Teddybella.  Now how adorably (is that a word?)  cute is she?

As usual, she is coloured with prisma color pencils on bella's bestest paper.
I based my colours on the delicious paper from MME called Fine and Dandy.
I just couldn't make the four corners work with either buttons, brads or what have you, so I opt not to use any.  I think the paper was too busy to apply something in the corners.  So I used a border die through the middle under the image and added a couple of mini ribbon roses to either side.  Finished with some stitching on the panels and some glitter on the presents. And there you have her!

Now, next week we do not have a challenge, so our next challenge will be on April 1, and our theme will be Polka Dots! So you have 2 weeks ladies, to pull this together.

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.

Thanks for stopping by, see you soon,
Pauline

Celebrate with Stella

I'm back today with another Stella card! Just love these gals - they always seem to make me smile. I did this one up a wee bit a go but never got around to posting it.
This was for a friend of a friend's 50th birthday.

This stella gal is called Stella with an olive on top!  I stamped her on bella's bestest paper and coloured her up with Copics. The DP I used is My Minds Eye - at least I think that is what is was. Sparkled her up with lots of glitter.

Don't forget about our challenge this friday.  It's a sketch this week, here it is, hope you get a chance to play along.

See you back here on friday.

You Glow Girl!

Hi All! Seems like it's been a while since I posted (well 5 days ago).  This is what happens when Life gets in the way, but I'm back.

I pulled out an image from one of my favourite stamp lines from Stamping Bella.  I just love these Stella images.  So for my card today I'm using
Daisy with a Stella on top

This time I coloured the whole image with copics after she was stamped on
bella's bestest paper with black memento ink.  Used circle s/binder dies to cut her out as well as the brown scallop layer.  For the half circle behind I traced a small saucer and then cut it out.  I also used this sentiment as well, and then cut it out using a s/binder ribbon tag die.  DP is by October Afternoon. Finished it off with some brown satin ribbon, and lots of glitter.

Well that's it for today,
Pauline

An Eggy Bouquet

Happy Friday peeps! So glad it's the weekend, and we are in for another winter storm, already about 6" of snow on the ground, lots of drifting.   I'm so ready for some nice warmer weather., when will it ever get here?? This weeks challenge was anything related to Easter.

This was my second attempt at this weeks challenge.  My first image that I coloured just didn't turn out the way I had envisioned so to the garbage it went!
So, then I pulled out another image which to me screamed Spring! Yep, it's a cutsey stamp called Eggy Bouquet.

I stamped the bouquet on bella's bestest paper and coloured with prismacolour pencils and gamsol. Cut it out with the large rectangle s/binder dies as well as the scallop piece.  I also punch a little picket fence using a MS fence border punch and distressed the edges of the fence with antique linen, then popped it up over the base of the bouquet.  I added some green flower soft to represent grass.
The DP is Basic Grey Kioshi.

To see what the other Babes have been up to this week, hop over to Bloggabella and take a look.  Next weeks challenge is an awesome sketch by none other than Danabella herself. Play along and submit your card via email to Emily by thursday night for a chance to win some bella bucks. Here is next weeks sketch:

Have a great weekend everyone!

No card but some exciting news

Sorry I don't have a card to share with you today, but I did get some exciting news this morning when I checked my emails.

I had a very nice email from Angie at Our Daily Bread. She proceeded to tell me that one of my cards that I had posted on SCS was being featured on Our Daily Bread blog as the Customer Card of the Day!

I was speechless to say the least. What an honour this is.

If you would like to see the article  and card you can view it here.

Anyways, just had to share my excitement with you.

Pauline

Cute as a button...

is what this little teddy bear is!  This teddy is actually called:
My beary best friend, and I just noticed as I'm writing this post, this stamp now comes with the sentiment - 'you're a true friend'.  When I bought my stamp which was over a year ago, it did not come with a sentiment, so I used cute as a button.

I coloured up the bear with my prisma colour pencils which was stamped on bella's bestest paper.  I then used my score pal and scored a border around,  1/4" from the edges.  I also used my new EK Success ribbon border punch, that I bought at Paper Pickle a couple weeks ago. Finished off with some buttons.

Don't forget about our challenge this friday - EASTER is our theme.  Email Emily your card by thursday night, to be included in the challenge and a chance to win some bella bucks.

Thanks for stopping by... see you on friday!

Spring flowers

Happy Monday! Hope everyone had a good weekend!

For today's card, I'm using an image I've had like forever, but just coloring it up for the first time.  I wanted to colour up something pretty, something kind of springy.
So I share with you a flower image (I just (heart) anything flower) called
Krista's Flowers.

Stamped it out on bella's bestest paper, and coloured with both copics and pencils.
I did a base coat using the copics then added some pencils to add a bit of depth.
I pulled out this piece of DP I had in my scrap basket  for my colour inspiration.
After cutting out the image with an oval s/binder die, I dusted some Baja Breeze ink around the image, then layered this onto a piece of Baja Breeze. Not sure how I wanted this layout to go, just knew I wanted to keep it simple, based on the DP and the image, so I pulled out this package of doilies I bought a few months ago to see how it would look.  And I kind of liked it, so that's what I went with.
Finished with some purple satin ribbon, rosette, punched leaves using MS leaf punch and glitter.

Thanks for stopping by....

Bouquet of Shamrocks

First of all, must say I am so tired of winter.  Yesterday it rained all day, which basically got rid of all the snow we had, (yay!) we even had green grass! and then it snowed last night, now I'm not talking just a dusting of snow, I mean snow.  We must of got at least 3-4" but there is a lot of drifting around our house, so digging out again today!

Okay on with my card today.  With St. Patrick's day coming up soon, I've been asked by a couple of co-workers for some St. Patty's day cards.  I remembered I had this digital image from Waltzing Mouse Stamps.  What I like about digital is that you can make them any size you want!

So I printed this off onto some Papertrey card stock and coloured with Copics.
Used my labels # 9 s/binder die  to cut it out, left the die in place and sponged some wheat versamagic ink around image. Then cut a fancy tag using the s/binder die and cut it in half, and glued each end of the tag to either side of the image. DP is from Basic Grey .  Added 4 gold brads and glitter.  And there you have it a beautiful bouquet of shamrocks!

Enjoy your day today, see you again soon,

Pauline

Annie

Ah! It's friday, and not only is it another bellariffic challenge, but I have the day off! I love 3 day weekends.

If you have followed along this week with us babes, you would of seen that this weeks challenge was a colour - Aquamarine.  I must say this is one of my favourite colours. I still have so many stamps that haven't seen ink, so I pulled out a new Christy Croll image called  Annie. Annie comes  along with her buddy  Arthur.  Both these images are adorable.

I stamped Annie onto bella's bestest paper and coloured her up with my prismacolor pencils, and also used copics for the skin tones. The DP is some I had for a long time.  It's by K & Company.
I followed Verve's Mojo Monday sketch for my layout this week.
Finishing touches, 3 rolled flowers, leaves, ribbon and glitter.

Be sure to hop over to Bloggabella to see what the other babes, and sistahs have done for this challenge.

Next weeks challenge theme is EASTER. Hope you get a chance this week to play along.

Have a wonderful weekend, see you soon.

Some glitter and pearls

Okay, gotta say I am in love with this card I did today.  Thinking ahead, because I go through a lot of wedding/shower cards, I thought I would get a jump start on a few cards.
So for today's card I pulled out Wedding gown circle which can be found at  Stamping Bella.

Keeping it simple and elegant, I wanted it basically white.  So with saying that I stamped the gown on bella's bestest paper and just added a bit of colour with Copics.  Skin tones E000, E00, E01 and for the blue shading I used BG000, BG10.
Used some spellbinder dies to cut out my layers.  I also use a SU embossing folder for the top white layer on the card.

Finished off with some soft blue pearls on the white flowers and added some white pearls on  the pendant die. Then came the glitter, lots of glitter on the dress, and I also stamped out an additional bow and popped it up with pop dots.

So what do you think? I think I could make a few more of these is some different pastel colors- I bet black and white would be stunning - hmmm might need to try that as well!

Also, don't forget friday is a colour challenge.  The colours are Aquamarine.
Play along and email your entry to Emily by thursday evening, for a chance to win some bella bucks.

Thanks for dropping by, have a wonderful day and see you on friday..
