A Mother.....

Well it's that time of year again, quickly approaching - Mother's Day!  Although my Mom passed 9 years ago in July, there is not a day that goes by that I don't think of her.  It's hard to believe it's been that long already.  Every year when I make MD cards, I always make them with my Mom in mind - what would I make her if I were to make one. She always loved my cards, and saved every one of them.  Now my Dad always looks forward to my handmade cards.

Today's card is one of 3 that I made this year.  I started by die cutting using one of the Find It Trading dies by Lilly Luna called No 1 Flower to love frame. On a piece of white c/s  I stamped the sentiment from AmyR stamps (discontinued) - set is called  All about Mom Sentiments using black versafine.  I then cut it our with a Spellbinder circle die, then using the next size up  die, I cut it using Papertrey Ink Lavender Moon.

I found some scrap designer paper in my bin which seem to match up with the lavender moon paper quite well.  I layered the Lilly Luna die cut over the designer paper. Adhered the 2 circles then added flowers from Wild Orchid.

Finished off with wink of stella clear pen painted over all the flowers for that bit of sparkle and then added small pearls to the centers of each of the flowers on the background.

Have yourself a wonderful day.  I'll be back soon with another Mother's Day card.

Oh, my! The sentiment touches my heart, especially when combined with all this feminine beauty. What a perfect fit in the circle. A gorgeous use of this incredible die which I've never seen before. You sure have some pretty dies! Love all the pearls and flowers. I've been thinking about my mom a lot as we get close to Mother's Day. Both my parents are gone. Enjoy your dad while you have him, and thank you for sharing this sweet, lovely creation today.

What a stunner Pauline! Love the design and the gorgeous colours... The sentiment brought a lump to my throat... Sadly my Mum passed before she ever got to see me making cards, it was only when she was gone and I had some time on my hands that I got into making them. I lost my Dad over 40 years ago...Still I'm sure they look down and see us and your Mom would love this without a doubt!

What a beautiful design Pauline. Elegant, full of beautiful feminine touches. It’s beautiful that even though your Mom is gone, she inspires what you create on this day, I’m sure she would have been so touched by a card like this. Lovely too that your Dad appreciates what you do.

Oh, sweet Pauline, I know about not having your mom anymore. I too am so touched by this tender sentiment...it's so very true, and I miss that about my mom (and dad since they are now both gone). But she certainly would have loved this card, and I love the amazing dies that you have. Of course, the gorgeous floral arrangements you make with Wild Orchid flowers are stunning! Beautifully done, once again, and I'm sure your dearest dad loves all your cards and loves you so much too!! Hugs! xoxo
