Spring has sprung

Good morning and Happy Monday.  Although it is raining out it is still a good morning, since I"m off today. It was a cold weekend, still wearing winter coat, hat & mitts as we ventured down to Pt. Pelee National Park.  It was a north west wind, which made it very cold.  But non the less we were able to see some migrant warblers at the tip.  We were lucky enough to see a Prairie Warbler (rare) but not a very good picture as it was gloomy and dark, but at least we can see we saw one! Some of the other varieties we saw were Yellow-rumped warbler, blue headed vireo, baltimore oriole, cape may, palm, black & white, warbling vireo, and a solitary sandpiper.

Since we are on the topic of birds, I thought I would share this card today.  I'm using an image from the Flourishes LLC set called Spring has Sprung.

I stamped the image onto some white cougar 100 lb c/s, then coloured using prismacolour pencils.
I then cut it out using a Papertrey Ink die called Fun frames die.  I actually cut the rectangle piece a second time so I could layer it under the image piece for a bit of dimension.

I used my MFT- Die-namics stitched cover-up companion - vertical die to cut my designer paper - Pink Paislee- butterfly garden.  I used papers from the same collection for the 2 inserts.  Love how this looks!  To finish off, I added some silk ribbon, clear sequins and used my wink of stella clear pen for a bit of shimmer on the flowers.

This card could be used for many occasions, but I am using  it as a Mother's Day card!

I hope I have inspired you in some way today.  Have a wonderful day, and thanks for your visit.

Pauline

Ohhhh, what a breath of spring time joy it is to see your card this morning! One of my all time favorite Flourishes images. That bird is so pretty the way you've colored it. So delicate and sweet. And the layered dies... love the dimension with the extra layer under the image panel. Some favorite papers, too. Your cover-up companion is different from mine as mine runs lengthwise. I love this one. I seem to make more vertical cards. Next time I'm going to run a ribbon through it like this. Perfect! You've definitely inspired me! Even with the chilly weather I know you had a great experience at Pt. Pelee. It sounds wonderful! We get that northwest wind in the summer, which really cools things off. It stays warm on the south side of the house, though. Enjoy your day off!

Hi Pauline,

Any mother would love this card. Colours, as usual, are perfect. We had our Mothers Day in March, think yours is to come? Bank Holiday for us today which makes it a long weekend. Weather has been really lovely. Bring on the summer.

Much love,

Oh, Pauline, what a gorgeous and delicate card! I love this sweet little bird with the flowers, and your coloring is stunning! Beautiful DP with a perfect layout! I just got this new PTI die, and I like that you stacked another layer for dimension. And I love your ribbon treatments. Stunning as always. And how exciting about all the beautiful birds you got to see this weekend! Now let's hope for warming weather soon! Hugs!

Seriously gorgeous. Wish you could see my expression as I'm scrolling through all your cards - my eyes are saucers LOL! Wow. So pretty. Makes me want to get back at blogging... or at the very least just taking a picture. :)
