Twice last week we went down to Ojibway Park in Windsor (about 50 min drive) to see if we could see any deer and birds. We lucked out on both accounts. Today I have some pictures to share with you from our outings.

As we were walking around the back side of the park, I heard this bird call, but wasn't sure what it was at that moment. Bill was a few steps ahead of me, so called him back to where I heard the sound, in the thickets against a tree trunk, Bill spotted a Carolina Wren. Never thought we would see these in the winter time. There ended up being two of them. We spend over an hour taking pictures of these beauties.
As you know we are bird lovers, so our backyard has many feeders. The good thing is that it attracts a variety of birds, the bad part is it also attracts Hawks to our backyard. We have had cooper hawks and sharp shinned. Bill was able to photograph a Sharp-shinned hawk sitting up in our cedars after he devoured his lunch (a small bird - so sad).
Lastly, on Christmas Day, Mark, Anna and the boys along with their pet dog "Snoopy" also know as 'Snoops" were down for the day. Bill captured the sweet face of Snoops as she was sitting so quietly overlooking the puzzle called 'finding Waldo'. Hence, then caption on the picture! Bill always comes up with some pretty cool captions.

As always, I'm enchanted by these photos. My heart gets a little swell when I see nature captured so beautifully in pictures. The deer remind me of our garden, they're out there so frequently. I'm giving up on flowers. Don't know if I'll even have any hydrangeas next summer. Funny how I don't feel too badly about it, though. It's the way of nature, same as the hawk and the small birds. It hurts my heart to think of it, but the feeders are doing more good than harm. I've wondered about our squirrels, too. I see hawks sometimes, but not many lately. Thankfully our bird feeding area is not real open. Need I even say how adorable I find Snoopy? Oh, my gosh, such a darling, sweet face! I haven't stamped much since Christmas, either. The break from stamping and blogging after all those Christmas cards has been nice and I find lots more time for other things. I plan to get back in the swing soon, but at a slower pace. Amazing how close you can get to the lovely deer. I still find it amazing that Bill can capture these beautiful photos. He must have a lot of patience to wait until he finds the creatures and finds the right time to take pictures. He sure knows how to capture the right shots with the right lighting. Truly a professional photographer. Then the photo of Snoopy. So adorable. He sure has beautiful puppy eyes. Who wouldn't want to snuggle up with Snoopy. Nothing melts my heart like a sweet doggie face. Precious. Bill captured the other critters beautifully too. So talented. Sorry I haven't been around lately. Still fighting crud and a cough that will NOT go away. The pictures perked me up. :-)
It amazes me that you guys capture these animals in pictures so well. That deer looks beautiful and so calm. Fabulous pictures.
