Santa's Elf & pictures

A week today is Christmas, I can't believe it's here already. I am still working on some cards, unfortunately I won't get them all done this year.

For my card today, I'm using a stamp set is from MFT called Santa's Elves.  I fell in love with these images when it was released last year but never had a chance to use them yet.

This little guy was fast to colour.  I used copics and did my magic!  I then used a square nestabilites to cut him out and then layered it onto some red then white card stock. I was going to layer it onto my white card base but it just seemed to plain.  Then I thought how about some splatter?  I pulled out some distress inks- (barn door, festive berries, peeled paint, and mowed lawn), squished some onto an acrylic block, added some water, and then splattered with a paint brush.

I then stamped the sentiment - which comes in the set, using black versafine and my misti.  I added some glitter to the ball, and white dots on his cheek using a white gel pen.

Yesterday, we went to my Sister's house to celebrate Christmas with our families. Arlene had her place decorated so beautiful.  Here are some pictures I would love to share.

she had the dinning room done in pinks - so, so pretty

the front staircase was also decorated

I took a few pictures of the kids, here are my favourites

And then of course the family dog - Teddy (my sister's dog), he is such a good doggy.  As you can see he is all dressed up waiting to go outside - check out his little boots!

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a wonderful day.

Oh, Pauline!! I LOVE this dear little elf, and you've colored him so magically! So darling! And what a brilliant idea to use the splatter for the background...I love it! Sweet card, my friend! And what beautiful Christmas decorations your sister has. I LOVE the sweet little teapot! Lovely family photos, and I wish you and your entire family a beautiful and blessed Christmas! Hugs, sweet friend! xoxo

Your elf is so CUTE and I love how you colored him! His white freckles and the brown tone of his hat and coat trim, the sprinkles of glitter...all make him come to life. Super great idea to splatter the white. It looks fantastic! And, ohhhhhh, your sister's house! What a clever, creative decorator she is! Dang, it must have taken some doing to get everything fastened into the banister. That teapot! Ack! It's so cute I can hardly stand it, and with all the candies and confections worked in... be still my heart! Your recently enlarged family looks so very sweet, and Teddy has the most darling face. Bet it's cold up there. We had ice on the water when we took Wally and LuLu out yesterday. Also had to thaw out the bird baths. Back to rain today. It's time to put all concerns of Christmas cards aside and just enjoy the season. Let it lift off your shoulders. Happy holidays, Pauline!
