Flowering branches

Spring has sprung! It was a beautiful day here, wind was a bit cool, but full sunshine.  We worked outside in the gardens removing all the dead growth from last hear.  I'm sure my back will pay for this later, but it's so nice to see the hosta's sprouting up through the ground and buds on the hydrangeas, butterfly bushes and trees.

Seeing the new growth makes me think of the card I coloured up on wednesday night. I'm talking about the newly released digital image from Marcella over at Power Poppy.  She never ceases to amaze me with her flower creations.  So without further ado here is what I created:
I am also entering this into Power Poppy's Pop of Pastel challenge.

After resizing I printed this onto Neenah white cardstock.  I then used spellbinders A2 Tranquil die and cut out the image.  Next I coloured using copics.  I then put the die back in place and sponged SU soft sky & distress peacock feathers around the outer edge and then a bit of shabby shutters in the center area.  I then layered this onto a piece of SU soft sky cardstock then onto my white base card.

Finished off with some glitter on the flowers, silk ribbon and pearls

Another card for my Mother's Day basket at work!

supplies:
stamp - Power Poppy digital image - flowering branches
dies- - spellbinders A2 Tranquil
paper - cougar white 100 lb, SU Soft Sky, Neenah
ink- copics - R11, R20, R24, R32, R35, R59, YG03, YG21, YG17, E31, E37, E42, E55

Thanks for stopping by, enjoy your day.

What an absolutely dreamy card. I love the process you used for coloring the image. Your background inking really makes the image look even more real. I'm going to have to go buy this one. Hugs!

Goodness, Pauline, my eyes are full up from devouring this beauty! I just knew you would have something fantastic with this branch soon (at least I hoped so). It's always a special treat to see your ideas and interpretations of Marcy's images. Isn't it fun to look forward to the 15th of the month? You always know you're going to love it! This is beautiful in the darker pink. It's the way I think of flowering crabs. Love your two-tone sponging and the Soft Sky background -- my favorite blue, I think. So pretty!

Oh, Pauline, this is gorgeous, and I agree with Leslie about eagerly seeing what you will do with Marcy's beautiful images! I totally love the colors you've used and really like the depth you've achieved with your sponging and added Distress Ink. And you know how much I love fancy dies. Absolutely stunning and so inspiring! Hope your back is doing well, and I always love seeing your gorgeous work! Hugs!
