Silhouette

It felt like winter again yesterday here in SW Ontario, we had snow!!!! and here I thought we were done with that.  It's cold again today -9C (-16C with the wind chill) but next week it starts to warm up again - lets hope it sticks around this time.  I see I have some of my bulbs already popping through the ground which is another sign spring is on its way.

Well lets get on with my card for today.  A few weeks ago, I wanted to try the 'smooshing' technique, where you apply ink to your craft sheet, spritz and lay our cardstock in it. It's amazing the different looks you get each time. Anyway I did up several using differernt colours, then never did anything with them.

I had a request to do a 'guys' Easter card for a co-worker and I knew he loved to fish. The stamp set I gravitated to was from Flourishes - Kids Play.  The images in this set are all silhouettes so I needed some kind of background to stamp this on, and I just happen to have a smooshed background that fit perfectly.

See for yourself:

The inks I used for the background were - PTI - summer sunrise, berry sorbet, limeade ice, and aqua mist.  I then stamped my image using black versafine.

I used my wink of stella (clear)pen to add some shimmer to the water.

supplies:
stamp - Flourishes - kids play
ink- black versafine, PTI - summer sunrise, berry sorbet, limeade ice, and aqua mist
die - spellbinder square
paper - white, black, MME - hattie papers, Bo Bunny (polkadot)
misc - copper brads, wink of stella clear pen

See you soon, till next time...... have a wonderful weekend.

You're not kidding this background fit perfectly! LOVE the colors and the whole look of it! The papers and colors you chose are great for a guy, and those copper brads, too. You have a real knack for guy cards, which I'm not so good at. Yours always come out masculine, but really gorgeous. Take a bow, Pauline! This is fabulous and I'm so happy to see it today!
