Sending well wishes

Hi everyone. Hope everyone had a good week.  It's been terribly cold here, with snow through out the week.  This cold weather is suppose to last at least into next weekend. Temperature going down to -37C (-34F) I am so ready for spring!

For my card today I'm using a set from Altenew called Persian Motifs.  At first I wasn't sure how I was going to colour this - pencils, copics?? and then I thought about my sakura pens.  So I started my card and this is how it turned out:

I started by white embossing the flowers and leaves on some Tim Holtz watercolour paper.  I then watercoloured using the Sakura Metallic Jelly roll pens. You don't need to add much ink to the paper - a little goes a long way. I know you can't see it in the picture but in real the leaves and flowers just glisten with that bit of metallic in the ink - so pretty.

I added the sentiment using  PTI -Wet Paint III stamp set and smokey grey versafine ink.
Added a strip of paper down the left side to pick up the colour of the flowers - this was a scrap piece from one of the Memory Box paper packs. Finished off with some sequins.

So overall it was a simple card.  I will try this again using some different colours.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend. It's a 3 day weekend for some of us Canadians - Family Day on monday -for a couple of the provinces.

I want to leave you with this adorable picture.  After shoveling one night  afterwork,  I noticed our friendly bunny around the bird feeders looking for scraps.  I went in the house, looked out the kitchen window and there he/she was sitting on the deck, so grabbed my camera. So sweet, I would just love to cuddle him. :)

Thanks for your visit.  Till next time.....

Pauline

Ohhhhh, this is so beautiful! Just soft and lovely with the white embossing. And an easy mailer! Love that little bit of blue denim (?) border down the side. The sequins are a pretty touch without being bulky. Your weather sounds incredibly COLD to me! It's been unseasonably warm here most of the winter. I would like to have more of a season change. It's been almost like summer, but without the flowers. Weird. The bunny on your deck is adorable! It looks well fed. I hope so. I guess with a coat like that and its cozy rabbit hole it probably stays warm enough. Can't help but worry about the sweet critters in such cold weather.

Oh, Paula, this is gorgeous! I just love how you've colored the embossed flowers with such a beautiful effect!! Wow, stunning! And I love the sequins and the great sentiment! And I agree with Leslie, just love that border down the side. I always love your work, and I am never disappointed. So sorry it's been so cold...we are so spoiled here in South Florida. Keep warm and safe, and enjoy the long weekend. We have one here in the States for Presidents' Day. Warm hugs!

I had no idea you could use gel pens like that. It's a gorgeous look and I bet even more so IF L. I just bought this set too but haven't had a chance to ink it up. Truly beautiful Pauline. Hugs!

Gorgeous card Pauline! The sequins are a great touch. That bunny is so sweet. Did you give him anything to eat? :-)
