A little bit vintage

Hi everyone.  Hope all is well.  I'm back today to share a little bit different kind of a card using some chipboard, distressing, die cuts, flowers,  and some washi tape.

I have had these butterfly chip boards for quite some time, I bought that at a rubber stamp convention about 5 years ago.  Yes, I'm a hoarder, and really I didn't know what I was going to do with them!

I knew this card needed to be a bit larger than what I normally make to fit everything I had in mind.
I started with the leafy die cut from Memory Box, cut this from some scrap basic grey paper I had laying on my table. From this I designed my card.  The designer paper layer is 4 1/8 x 6 1/8.  I distressed the edges using some distress brushed corduroy ink.  I then used 2 different washi tapes to put along the bottom of this panel.  I very rarely use washi tape, although I have been collecting them  just because they are so pretty - lol.  I love how this looks, it looks as though it is made on the designer paper already.  I then layered this onto a piece of cherry cobbler, then onto a piece of darker tan (not sure what this is called, I found a couple of pieces in my stash, but not in a package) and then this was all layered onto my card base of soft suede textured - 7 x 5.

For the chipboard I sponged some brushed corduroy around the edges then layered this over the leafy diecut.  From there I added some Prima flowers, and amber rhinestones. The seam binding ribbon was some I had from a while ago, but seem to match perfectly - color wise - after making the bow I added a basic grey brad to the center to hold it together.  To finish off I added some more amber rhinestones to the front of the card as well as a studio calico wooden bird.

I hope you like my card today.  I ended up making 2 more of these - one for my friends 60th birthday and the other for my sale basket.  This one I will keep for a while - sometimes I find it hard to part with certain cards and this is one of them.

Enjoy your day! till next time,

Pauline

Ohhhhhhh, I would keep this, too! It needs to be on display in your home like a piece of art. So gorgeous! Love how the butterfly makes an oval frame, and those flowers are incredible! I did visit Wild Orchid, by the way. You make the most beautiful bows, too. I have a hard time spreading out the loops and they come out all wonky. These colors are so warm and wonderful. Cute little bird. Oh! I just love it all over!

This one should be set out in your home somewhere for fall. The colors are beautiful. Lots of great layering and textures. Beautiful Pauline! Hugs!
