White as snow

Well it's finally Friday again.  I must say with working the 10-6 shift the days just fly right on by. By the time I get home from work and have dinner it's usually between 7-7:30, then at that time I really don't feel like doing much of anything.  Most nights I'm in bed between 9 - 9:30. I'm up at 6 and go for my 1/2 hour walk in the mornings because one knows I surely wouldn't feel like  it in the evening.

Last weekend I managed to get some cards done, and I actually worked on my first Christmas card of this 2013 season - woohoo for me!  It's really nothing exciting, but here it is:

When I was at The Paper Pickle last week, I saw that Kim had some new embossing folders.  I already own a couple of Christmas Tree embossing folders, but I loved the design of this one.  This is a Couture Creations EF, and it comes in 2 sizes - the regular A2 size, as well as the 5x7.  I went with the smaller one. The folder is called Early One Morning.

I embossed it on 110 lb white c/s. I love that there is already a frame around the tree.  I was going to mount it onto another piece of white, but thought that would be to blah, so put a layer of shiny silver c/s behind it. I think it is a bit more classier looking with the silver.  In the picture it looks like there is something on the silver above the star, but it is just a reflection from the light in my shadow box.

Finished off by adding some white liquid pearls to all the little dots and for the star I added some Tim Holtz distress glitter -  clear rock candy - and boy does this stuff sparkle!

So there you have it, my first holiday card done, and a kazillion more to go!

Thanks for stopping by, have a wonderful weekend everyone.  See you again real soon,

Pauline

I now you've been super busy with work, but I sure am glad you found some time to make a few cards. The mom card was so beautiful and I can see why it brought your friend to tears. The bear card with the buttons was too cute. Made me smile. And this one...truly gorgeous. So simple but so very stunning. I can always count on seeing quality cards when I visit here. Hugs!

This is absolutely gorgeous! I love the simplicity with the white on white and the built in frame. The glitter and Liquid Pearls are a perfect finish. I know what you mean about those nights after work. Makes your days off busier when you can't get anything done during the week. Enjoy the upcoming weekend!
