Scotty note cards

I'm back today to share a note card I did for a friend who loves Scotty Dog's.  I have been making her note cards for several years now so I try to come up with something different every time she orders.

I ended up making her 10 of these.

Card measures 5.5 x 4.25.  I started by cutting the next layer 5.25 x 4 and embossed it using PTI wood grain embossing plate.  I love the deepness of the wood grain, looks so real.  Next I used a Memory Box die - Tessatina border for the white lattice type border.  The black lattice circle is a PTI die - this is one of 3 dies that comes in the set called doily details dies. I then stamped the Scotty dog on white c/s using black versafine, then cut it out using a circle spellbinder die. I then coloured the Scotty with a black copic marker to get a more deeper black - and his bow with a red copic marker.  Finished off with a little red rhinestone on the center of the bow.

Okay, off to see hubby's photo's from today.  He was down in Wheatly tonight where there is a brown pelican (he is very far from home which is probably Florida!)

Thanks for stopping in.  Enjoy the rest of your week.

A couple of sympathy cards

Hi everyone.  Hope your enjoying the weekend.  It is absolutely beautiful here in SW Ontario.
Sun is shining and the breeze is just perfect.  I was doing some yard work this afternoon, then sat down under the gazebo and did some reading.  It's nice just to do not much of anything, just to take time for yourself.  Then I thought, hmmmm I should go a post a card I did last week, so here I am.

Although it's not the type of card we like to make, but I never seem to have enough of them in my stash.  These ones were very easy to whip up.

The first one is in blue/green tones:

supplies used:

Hero Arts stamp - leafy vines, SU embossing folder, brilliance tri-colour ink pad - peacock, silk ribbon, flower from Wild Orchid Crafts, pearls, sentiment from PTI- everyday classics

and the second one is in pink/peach/yellow tones:

supplies used:

Hero Arts stamp - leafy vines, SU embossing folder, brillance tri-colour ink pad- Aurora, silk ribbon, pearls,  sentiment- PTI-willow. (looks like my pearl on the bow slipped a bit, didn't notice when I took the picture, but have fixed it).

I have another brilliance tri colour ink pad, I think I will give that colour a try as well. It's called twilight (pink/mauve tones).

Well, that's about it for me for this time.  Thanks for stopping by.  See you again real soon.  Next up will be a cute thank you card for a dog lover!  Stay tuned.

Meadow Greens

I'm back today to share a card I made with one of my newest sets from Papertrey Ink.  Since I love anything nature related, I couldn't resist this new stamp set called Meadow Greens.  There are a lot of inspiration pieces made with this set on Pinterest.  I stole some inspiration from there and added to it.  This is what I came up with.

This was a fairly quick card to do, I ended up doing 3 in total.  The paint lines along the bottom of the card were done with MFT -Abstract Art and I used PTI inks - melon berry, limeade ice, aqua mist.  I stamped off first then stamped on my card, I guess I could of stamped off a bit more to maybe lighten the stripes a bit more.  The  flower and leaf is from the Meadow Green set, again stamped with limeade ice but first stamped off the leave and vine.  The flower was first stamped with limeade ice then mading sure it was dry, I stamped the flower again using versamark then embossed with vanilla embossing power (and it even smells like vanilla!!).
For the vase, I first cut it out using PTI's vase die and then using the matching stamp I stamped the vase in versamagic white.

Sentiment is from Verve - small phrases, stamped in smoke grey versafine.  Finished off with a small coral flower with a small pearl added to the middle.

Papers used - PTI - white, melon berry & aqua mist.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a wonderful day,

Pauline

wishing you every happiness...

Can you believe that we are into August already?  Where did July go? As much as I would like to see Sept get here (we are taking a trip out to Maine) I still want to enjoy the summer. Weather hasn't been all that summerish if you kwim!  Lots of rainy days and cooler temps, now I don't want hot hot weather, but mid 70's, sunshine and a slight breeze- is that too much to ask?  Well that is the weather for this weekend- can't wait.

I have another card to share with you today.  I had  a request for a wedding shower - I never know what to do for those, anyway this is what I came up with. I really enjoy making a card that doesn't require colouring.  Mind you I love to use my pencils and copics, but this is a nice change from it.

This was pretty simple actually, paper, punches, pearls, flowers, ribbon and die cut!

I used an EK Success border punch as well as a Spellbinder
fancy tags three.  I think the paper is by Prima. I sponged some antique linen to give it a bit of vintage feel to the punched border as well as the tag tie.  Sentiment is from Verve - set is called Small Phrases - great set to have I have used this many times.

Finished off with some white ribbon, pearls, flower and leaves from Wild Orchid Crafts (UK - love this online store, if you need flowers this is the place to purchase them. Shipping is cheap and they ship fast.  I had my pkg in a week).

Okay, off to start my day, need to get my potato salad made.  Mark and his girlfriend are coming home today, can't wait to see them, it's been a month.  Day shaping up great weather wise,  lots of birds in the backyard already - hummingbirds, cardinals, blue jays, sparrows, finches, we will have lots of laughs (as always), great food as well (bbq chicken, potato salad, corn on the cob, wine!) and just a lot of family loving!

Enjoy your weekend, it's a long one for us Canadian's, and I also took Tuesday off, so a 4 day weekend, love it!

Till next time,
Pauline
