sketch challenge #16

Hi all, thanks for stopping by today for bellariffic friday.  We had a sketch to follow this week for our challenge.  After picking my image and papers I realized I should of done this for last weeks challenge which was summertime.

Here is Mavis builds a sandcastle by Stamping Bella. There is just something about these Mavis images that bring a smile to your face (well at least they do for me :) ).

Mavis was stamped on bella's bestest paper, then coloured with copics and pencils. The sentiment I used can be found here.  Are you loving the fun colours of this?  Papers are by Fancy Pants called Summer Soul.

Dies used are spellbinders square and scallop square, MFT - die-namics bracket tab, EK Success border punch.  I used a quickutz dot embossing folder for the pink strip.

To finish Mavis off I added some glossy accents to her glasses, stitching, buttons and some super fine flower soft - for the sand, and an after thought after the picture was taken, I added some glitter to the dots on her bathing suit.

Now hop on over to bloggabella, check out what the other babes and guests have done to inspire you this week.  Leave a comment for a chance to win $10 in bella bucks.

Speaking of inspiring, Emily has posted some cards from us babes on bloggabella just to get you inspired and to get those creative juices flowing.  I hope it works because we have another challenge next week, and would love for you to join us.  Our challenge is something we all do cards for, and that is "Birthday wishes".  Pretty simple eh?  Email Emily your card by thursday night to have your card shown on bloggabella next friday.  You also have a chance to win $20 in bella bucks.

Tomorrow I'm off to Novi Michigan to a stamping convention by Heirloom Production.  Lots of vendors there, I'm going with the intention of not buying anything! yeah right! I mean really, what more could I possible want/need! LOL.

Enjoy yourself a wonderful weekend, see you back here early next week.

This is why I love Friday challenges - you interpreted the sketch in a totally new light. Ovals become squares and it still "feels" like the original sketch. Mavis sure is a heart puller - and your soft Tabby coloring is perfect. Enjoy your trip to Novi. I remember days when I could just drive on down to meet you girls. There is nothing like that in my neck of the woods now. Have fun and bring back some inspiration for us!

What wonderful stripes you've bestowed upon your little orange tabby! I adore all the pastel colours and your marvelous aqua coloured highlighting around kitty.

Wow your colouring is fantastic - Mavis has never looked prettier! Love the pretty papers, the buttons, the dies and that sand!! I love that you made the oval a square - why don't I think of that? You always have the perfect amount of details on your cards - just beautiful! Ah...Novi...it's been many years since I've been to Novi convention - good luck with not buying anything! :)
