Being it's the end of August this week, that only leaves approx 3.5 months to get Christmas cards done - so I decided it was time to get into gear and start working on them.
Today's card I'm just smitten with. I love how she turned out, very vintage, love the beige, brown and burgundy together. Here is Uptown Girl Quinn in her boots!
Is she not the cutest? I stamped her on bella's bestest paper then
coloured her with prismacolour pencils and blended with gamsol.
I layered her onto a piece of PTI fine linen and then a piece of SU bravo burgundy. I then stitched around her and sponged distress inks - antique linen and frayed burlap.
DP is from Simple Stories - Generations - last years release.
Since I wanted her to look kind of vintage, I added a piece of linen lace along the bottom. It still looked a bit plain so added a couple of bella dots and a antique gold snowflake that I have had for ever.
Finished off with some snow along the ground. I used Diamond dust - love this stuff, it's a bit chunky, but so glittery. I first applied some glossy accents and then sprinkled the diamond dust on (glossy accents holds better than just the quickie glue pen).
Don't forget about our 'back to school' challenge for friday. Do you have your card done yet? If not you still have time. Email your card to Emily by thursday night - you could win $20 in bella bucks.
Thanks for visiting today, see you back her on friday.

Pauline - I just love this! Love the vintage and your added extras. You make me want to throw away my copics and go buy primacolour pencils!
This is beautiful. I'm curious how you sponged on the colors - can you tell me what tool you used for the sponging. Nwhen I sponge it never looks that good. Yours looks like it was airbrushed.
Great job!
3.5 months left? Yikes, I'd better get cracking, I'm a bit behind! Love your Quinn card - the colours, the lace ribbon, the chunky glitter (love that stuff for snow!) and your colouring is awesome as always!
Wow! Love this! Your color choices and coloring are to die for. I swoon!
Hi Sue,
I use a round dauber, rub this into the ink pad, take a bit off on scrap paper then in a circular motion I lightly go around my card. I start off on a scrap piece of paper and as I use the circular motion that's when I come onto my image, that way you don't get the round dauber marks on your image. And from there I just keep adding ink to the darkness I want. Good luck!
Pauline Quinnis fabulous. The shading is perfect around her. I love the diamond dust fort the snow.
I have GOT to get more of these stamp! I just colored up another one and I am totally in love with them. You have picked an amazing color scheme for this one. The burgundy is stunning with the brown and I have that same paper pad. Might have to lift you color scheme. Love to see your Uptown Girl creations Pauline! Hugs!
Well you have every reason to be smitten cuz this card IS so awe inspiring. The vintage feel was right on. You've pulled the colors together nicely and all your extras just flow...the lace edging and the snowflake fit perfectly! Must say I'm such a sucker for plaid so your choice of paper just draws me in too!
