Hello my blogging friends! It's Friday, and well you know what that means - yes a bellariffic challenge which happens to be
'back to school' and also this is a 3 day weekend. Gotta love it!
And the last day of August - like where did this summer go?
My card today is featuring Betty the bookworm by Stamping Bella. Betty is from the Greenbean baby line - which I adore.
She is stamped on bella's bestest paper and I used both copics and pencils on this - skin tones and hair was done with copics-
skin: E000,E00, E01, R20 Hair: Y26, E23, E25, E27 Headband: R27 & R35, Bluejeans: B93, B95, B97, Top: E26, E28, and the rest was coloured with pencils and blended with gamsol.
After cutting her out with a square spellbinder die, I left the die in place and sponged some distress tumbled glass. The blue layer of paper behind the image with the alphabet on it was cut out using spellbinders Wonky Rectangles. DP is by Prima called Doodle Deux.
The only thing I added for accent on this was some stitching and some glossy accents on her glasses.
Need more inspiration? well then stop over at bloggabella and check out what everyone else did for this weeks challenge. You will not be disappointed. Leave a comment for a chance to win $10 in bella bucks.
Next weeks challenge is another sketch. You know the drill - email your card to Emily by thursday night to be included in the showdown on bloggabella on friday, and a chance to win $20 in bella bucks.
Well that's it folks- have yourself a wonderful long weekend, see you again shortly.

Quinn
Being it's the end of August this week, that only leaves approx 3.5 months to get Christmas cards done - so I decided it was time to get into gear and start working on them.
Today's card I'm just smitten with. I love how she turned out, very vintage, love the beige, brown and burgundy together. Here is Uptown Girl Quinn in her boots!
Is she not the cutest? I stamped her on bella's bestest paper then
coloured her with prismacolour pencils and blended with gamsol.
I layered her onto a piece of PTI fine linen and then a piece of SU bravo burgundy. I then stitched around her and sponged distress inks - antique linen and frayed burlap.
DP is from Simple Stories - Generations - last years release.
Since I wanted her to look kind of vintage, I added a piece of linen lace along the bottom. It still looked a bit plain so added a couple of bella dots and a antique gold snowflake that I have had for ever.
Finished off with some snow along the ground. I used Diamond dust - love this stuff, it's a bit chunky, but so glittery. I first applied some glossy accents and then sprinkled the diamond dust on (glossy accents holds better than just the quickie glue pen).
Don't forget about our 'back to school' challenge for friday. Do you have your card done yet? If not you still have time. Email your card to Emily by thursday night - you could win $20 in bella bucks.
Thanks for visiting today, see you back her on friday.

Lenten Rose
Hi everyone. Just a quick post tonight before heading off to bed. I was making some cards to take to Dresden for my sale basket tomorrow night and thought I would share one of them with you.
Have you ever used stamps by Flourishes?? I am in love with them. Every month they come out with 3 sets and they are a must have. The set I'm using tonight is called Lenten Rose.
Image was coloured with Copics and shading around the flowers and bottom of vase was done using prismacolour penciles and blended with gamsol.
DP is Basic Grey - Perhaps. I used spellbinders large square die and large square scallop.
Finishing touches - stitching, glitter, lace and a bow.
That wraps it up for tonight. This gal is tired. :)
See you again real soon, thanks for coming by.

Bellariffic sketch #17
Hey folks, it's friday - woohoo! and it's Bellariffic friday. This week our challenge was a sketch - we are up to sketch 17 - 8 more to go till the end of the year - hard to imagine, but time sure if flying.
This is this weeks challenge we had to follow:
I thought it was going to be an easy one to follow, but
must confess I struggled with it. Not sure why, but I think
I pulled it off!
I debated about using flowers (which I love anything nature - hint hint - Emily, we need more flower images), but as I flipped through my bella binders I came across some images that I have not touched in quite some time.
So, for today's image I'm using a Stella - this one is called
Gossipy Stella- I just love these images, they are fun to
colour.
Next issue I had was what papers to use - geez with having a kazillion sheets of paper and lots of 6x6 you would think this
wouldn't be a problem, so after about 20 min I came across this
6x6 MME - Hazel. Good ole' faithful MME papers are!!
I know your dying to see the card, so here you go:
I stamped her on bella's bestest paper with black memento, and coloured her with copics. The shading around her was done with pencils. Sentiment I used can be found here.
Dies used were spellbinders oval and scallop oval, and for the sentiment I used a spellbinder tag die.
Finished it off with some glitter and a bow.
Your going to love next weeks challenge - 'back to school' for all you Moms out there who have school age children are probably more excited then they are that school has begun or will shortly! If you get a chance to play along with us, you can email your card to Emily by thursday night. Your name will go in a draw for $20 in bella bucks.
Enjoy your weekend, and thanks for coming by today.

Summer days...
are quickly slipping by, and our daylight is getting shorter. I can't believe that we are heading for the end of August next week - like where did the summer go?
For my card today I pulled out Paula's set call Summer Days, (set of 4) by Stamping Bella and coloured up the Adirondack chair image.
After stamping the image on bella's bestest paper, I coloured this with prismacolour pencils and blended with gamsol. The chair was coloured using copics R24 & R37, then did shading with pencils.
The layout I used is this weeks Verve's Mojo Monday 255. Paper is by Memory Box - Brioche. The dies I used are Spellbinders label 1, and MFT Retro square. Finished off with some glitter on the daisy's.
You still have time to play along in this weeks sketch challenge, if you haven't already. Email Emily your card by thursday night to be included on bloggabella and a chance to win $20 in bella bucks.
Thanks for stopping by today, see you back here on friday....

Abby
Hi everyone! It's seems like forever since my last post - it was only 4 days ago! With this being friday, that means a bellariffic challenge, and this weeks challenge was a 'birthday' theme.
Today I coloured up Abby, from Stamping Bella. I thought she would make a cute little girls birthday card.
I knew I wanted to colour her dress in lime green even before I picked out papers. After she was stamped on bella's bestest paper I used copics to colour her. I did the shading and grass using prismacolour pencils. The paper I used is by MME - Happier.
Dies used are spellbinder petite ovals and petite scallop oval, long rectangle and long scallop rectangle. Since Abby was a bit longer that the die I wanted to use, I had to go outside the box with the balloons.
Finished up with some crystal rhinestones and lots of glitter.
Head over to bloggabella to see some more awesomeness for this weeks challenge. Leave a comment for a chance to win $10 in bella bucks.
Next weeks challenge is sketch #17. If you can play along this week, be sure to email your card to Emily by thursday night. You have a chance to win $20 in bella bucks.

Sweet as candy
As promised, I said I would be back today with another card to share with you, and here I am.
I thought I would treat you to something sweet. I started colouring this up on Friday night and finished it last night.
This is Uptown Girl Claudia has a candy.
After I stamped her on bella's bestest paper I coloured the base layer of her using copics then did the rest of the colouring with prismacolour pencils. Paper is by Basic Grey called Picadilly. After cutting her down to size I sponged some SU pink pirouette around her, layered her onto a piece of light pink bazzill paper then stitched around the edges.
For the flowers on the side I used a Memory Box die called fancy blossoms - if you have never tried these dies, they are a dream to use, they cut light butter.
Finished off with a piece of silk ribbon for the bow on her lollipop, glitter, and pearls for the flower centers. This image does come with it's own sentiment but I choose not to use it this time.
Don't forget about our challenge this friday - it's an easy one - birthday wishes - lots of bella images to choose from that fits this, so I hope you will play along with us. Just email Emily your card by thursday night.

sketch challenge #16
Hi all, thanks for stopping by today for bellariffic friday. We had a sketch to follow this week for our challenge. After picking my image and papers I realized I should of done this for last weeks challenge which was summertime.
Here is Mavis builds a sandcastle by Stamping Bella. There is just something about these Mavis images that bring a smile to your face (well at least they do for me :) ).
Mavis was stamped on bella's bestest paper, then coloured with copics and pencils. The sentiment I used can be found here. Are you loving the fun colours of this? Papers are by Fancy Pants called Summer Soul.
Dies used are spellbinders square and scallop square, MFT - die-namics bracket tab, EK Success border punch. I used a quickutz dot embossing folder for the pink strip.
To finish Mavis off I added some glossy accents to her glasses, stitching, buttons and some super fine flower soft - for the sand, and an after thought after the picture was taken, I added some glitter to the dots on her bathing suit.
Now hop on over to bloggabella, check out what the other babes and guests have done to inspire you this week. Leave a comment for a chance to win $10 in bella bucks.
Speaking of inspiring, Emily has posted some cards from us babes on bloggabella just to get you inspired and to get those creative juices flowing. I hope it works because we have another challenge next week, and would love for you to join us. Our challenge is something we all do cards for, and that is "Birthday wishes". Pretty simple eh? Email Emily your card by thursday night to have your card shown on bloggabella next friday. You also have a chance to win $20 in bella bucks.
Tomorrow I'm off to Novi Michigan to a stamping convention by Heirloom Production. Lots of vendors there, I'm going with the intention of not buying anything! yeah right! I mean really, what more could I possible want/need! LOL.
Enjoy yourself a wonderful weekend, see you back here early next week.

Rustic window box
It's wonderful to have a 3 day weekend, but the sad thing is, is that it comes to end to quickly. So back to work tomorrow (insert sad face!)
With having today off, after doing some much needed house work (cleaning ceiling fans - wow the dust sure can find it's home up there) I managed to get a few images coloured.
Tonight I will share with you Rustic window box by Mo Manning in rubber at Stamping Bella.
Image was stamped on bella's bestest paper with black memento ink. I used prismacolour pencils to colour and blended with gamsol. Colours look a bit off compared to the real card, the window is actually more sage green in real rather than the bluish tone it looks here. I cut the image down then sponged some antique linen and scattered straw around the edges, layered it onto some sage c/s then stitched around the edge, then layered it onto some bazzill yellow.
DP is by Basic Grey - Stella Ruby. I really love the 'older' style paper from Basic Grey.
Finished off with some glitter and tea stained seam binding ribbon.
That's it for me for today, back on Wednesday with another card to share with you. See you then..

Sum sum summertime....
Ah! Friday at last and a 3 day weekend to boot! Are you feeling the excitement?
Well here we are right in the middle of summer, so what better way to celebrate then with a summertime challenge - right? I had many images that I could pick from, but decided on Ida Lulu.
I stamped Ida on bella's bestest paper with black memento ink. I used copics and pencils to shade. I cut her out using MFT rounded banner die- love the shape of this and I thought it fit perfectly with this image, kind of curved around her umbrella, then layered her onto a piece of pink c/s cut with the next size up in the banner dies.
Paper is from October Afternoon called Sidewalks. Dies used were MFT- rounded banner, PTI large scallop, MFT dainty lace border.
Copic colours: Skin: E000, E00, E01, E11, Umbrella handle E33, Dress & Umbrella Y11, Y13, Y19, glasses R83, R85 flower R83, R85, BG01 - pencils for the grass and shading.
Miscellaneous items used: yellow satin ribbon, prima pink flower, glitter and glossy accents for her glasses.
For some more summertime fun - hope over to bloggabella and check out what everyone else did this week. Leave a comment for a chance to win some bella bucks.
Next weeks challenge - you guessed it we are back to another sketch. Sketch #16. Hope you can play along, then email Emily your card by thursday night - you never know you can be the next winner and have yourself $20 in bella bucks!
That's it for today. Thanks for your visit. For all you folks that have Monday off, enjoy your long weekend. Till next time....
