Can you believe it, it's the last day of February? Where does the time go? I hope everyone had a good weekend. Myself, feeling a bit under the weather, very sore throat, but slowly getting better.
I had an order for a couple of birthday cards last week, and this was one of the ones I whipped up one night - yes I whipped it up, she ordered on tuesday for pickup on thursday if possible. I rarely ever say 'no' (to making cards that is!).
I just love the Chichiboulie fairie series from Stamping Bella, and still have a few that haven't seen ink, so I pulled out Patricia Birthdaycake.
I stamped Patricia onto bella's bestest papers and coloured her with both copics and pencils. For the skin tones I used copic #'s E000, E00, E01, E11, for the dress I used R000, and for the wings I used YG000. I then finished colouring her with my Caran d'ache pencils and blended with gamsol. If you wondering why I used both copics and pencils - I found that by doing a base coat in a very light copic colour it seems to help with adding the pencil colours. Since the base coat is already down I don't have to pull the pencil colour as far down into the area I'm coloring, and the pencils seem to blend well with the copic base. I don't always start with Copics, I just thought I would give it a try, but I do like it, and will do it again.
I used some s/binder dies to cut her out as well as the layers behind her. DP is from Memory Box. I did a rolled flower for my accent along with some punched out leaves using a Martha Stewart punch. Added some glitter to the flower as well as her wings and cake.
So there you have it!
Enjoy the rest of your day, and thanks for stopping by. See you on Wednesday with another card.

A bit of Luck!
The days are flying by, and here we are again for another bellariffic friday challenge. This weeks challenge was to use a stamp that has never seen ink- well I must confess I have tons, yes tons of stamps that have never seen ink.
With St. Patrick's day coming up, I pulled out Goodluckabella to ink up for this challenge.
With St. Patrick's day coming up, I pulled out Goodluckabella to ink up for this challenge.
I stamped her on bella's bestest paper and coloured her using primsacolor pencils and blended with gamsol(oms). Cut her out using an oval s/binder die, left it in place then sponged some wheat versamagic ink around her, layered this onto a piece of green c/s which was cut with a scallop die. DP is from Basic Grey called Marjolaine- (gorjuss papah)! The white decorative border was punched from a new EK Success punch I bought at Paper Pickle last week. I am lovin this punch. Seam binding ribbon is from Martha Stewart - I must confess, I forgot I had this ribbon, I bought this last year sometime, along with 2 other colours.
Finished it off with a green rhinestone and some glitter.
Be sure to hop over to Bloggabella to see what the other babes created for this challenge. Next weeks challenge is a colour challenge. See the swatch below. Incorporate these colours in your card and your good to go!
Want to win some Bella Bucks? then email Emily your card by thursday night to have a chance to win.
Have a good weekend everyone. Thanks for stopping by...

Celebration!
Today's card, I decided to do something different. Although I love to colour, it's always nice to change it up. I know a lot of you have seen some beautiful cards done using spellbinder dies, so I decided to give it a try.
With doing this I wanted to incorporate a Stamping Bella sentiment called
Celebrate.
I started out by stamping the sentiment on bella's bestest paper. Then using Labels #14 s/binder die I cut out the sentiment and used the next size up and cut another piece out. I also cut out 2 decorative squares from the Fleur de Lis set. The white paper behind the center piece is a piece of embossed paper I picked up from The Paper Pickle. It is so pretty. Finished this up with lots of pearls, lime rhinestones, some lime silk ribbon and a rosette.
I would of like to of use the "Love" sentiment but it was too wide and wouldn't fit inside this die.
I have a request for 70th Anniversary card to do, so think I'm going to do something similar.
Thanks for stopping by, I'll see you again on friday with my challenge card.
If you get a chance to play along, the theme is use a stamp that hasn't been inked! Pretty simple!

Chili and a card!
I have to tell you I love having Mondays off! I actually accomplished a lot today. First, since we got blasted with a winter storm late yesterday and through the night, we spent 1.5 hrs shovelling us out. Drifts up to my knees, way too much snow. Then came in a made this delicious White Bean Chili - OMG it is sooooo good.
Doesn't that look delicious! Here is the recipe:
1 lb ground chicken
1 1/2 cups chopped onion
3 cups chopped celery
3 cloves garlic - minced
4 tsp chili powder
1 1/2 tsp cumin
3/4 tsp cinnamon
3/4 tsp allspice
1/2 tsp pepper
1 can diced tomatoes - undrained
1 can navy beans - rinsed and drained
2 cups chicken broth
For us WW gals it's a 6 pt meal!
Then I finally got around to making a couple of cards. Today's card, I'm using an image I have had stamped out for quite a while but never coloured her up.
Here is Kenya Ketto.
Since she was already stamped out, next I needed to decide what colours I was going to use. So pulled out my scrap bucket, and came across some DP from Basic Grey - Blush collection. Perfect! Pulled out my prismacolor pencils and went to town. I had her coloured up in no time. I sponged some wheat versamagic ink around Kenya leaving the die in place. Doesn't look like it showed up very well in the picture but it is there. Used my beaded oval for the read layer underneath the image.
Finished her off with some ribbon, and glitter.
I'll be back on Wednesday to show you my other card I did today. It is so pretty, your going to love it! See you then,
Oh and don't forget about our challenge this friday. It's Use a stamp that has never seen ink! Come on, I know you have plenty of those, so shouldn't be too hard to play along. Email Emily your card by thursday night. Who knows, you could be a lucky winner of some bella bucks!

Some 'bunny' loves you
I know Easter is still a couple months away, but thought I would get a head start.
Today, I share with you, a cute little stamp called "Bunny" a Christy Croll image that can be found at Stamping Bella.
I coloured up Bunny using my prismacolor pencils and blended with gamsol.
Sponged some sea breeze versamagic ink around image. The DP is from Heidi Grace. The sentiment I used comes from the stamp set called Presley Lollipop. Finished off with a pink rhinestone on the flower on her head and some pretty aqua ribbon.

Baby Buttercup
Friday again, and another 3 day weekend! Woohoo! The 3rd Monday in February has been declared "Family Day" here in Ontario, so I have the day off. Gotta love it.
This weeks challenge was a sketch done by our video babe Ebru. I love this sketch, I can see me using it over again. I am in much need of baby cards for my 'sale basket', so I pulled out Baby Buttercup to colour up this week. Based on the image I knew it would be a perfect fit for the oval in the sketch.
As always, stamped onto bellas' bestest paper and colored with Copics and pencils. Yes you heard me, I pulled out the copics. Basically what I did, was colored the skin tones, E000, E00, E01 then for the leaves I just did a base coat in G40 and for the baby's outfit I used R20. Then I coloured with my pencils (prismacolor). I found it much easier to blend the colours for some reason.
After cutting it out I sponged some versamagic pixie dust around the image leaving the die in place. Then layered this onto a piece of pink c/s cut out with the scallop die. DP is from DCVW called Nana's Nursery. This piece I used has glitter already on the little pink flowers, it's so pretty. Finishing touches - stitched around the squares, added pearl baubles to the corners ( I don't see pearl baubles on the website, but there are many other colours to choose from) and some glitter on the leaves.
Based on next weeks challenge, I think you will have no problem playing along.
The theme is " Ink what you have not used" now how much easier can that be. If your anything like myself, you probably have lots of stamps that have not seen ink. Hmmm wonder what I will colour? Email your submission to Emily by thursday night to play along and be included in a draw for some bella bucks!
Have a wonderful weekend all! Thanks for dropping by..

Birthday card #3
Happy Valentines Day! Sorry I don't have a Valentine card to share with you today, I've been working on some card orders, and Valentine cards were not on the list. Since I had a 3-day weekend. I did accomplished a lot in the card making - needed cards for a co-worker to take to England, as well as my 'for sale' basket at my hairdressers was completely empty, so made cards for that as well.
The card today is the last of the birthday requests that I needed to get done.
I colored up Savvyshoppabella which can be found at Stamping Bella.
Started by stamping her on bella's bestest paper with black memento ink and colored her up with my prismacolor pencils. Cut her out using the oval s/binder die and layered her onto some yellow/orange c/s. The DP used is all from the Basic Grey Kioshi collection. Finishing details, ribbon, glitter and buttons.
Also, don't forget about our challenge this friday. It's a sketch challenge your going to love!

With Sympathy
Thought I would post a quick card I made yesterday. I can never seem to keep sympathy cards in stock for my sale basket, and these work up so fast, so made 4 of them yesterday.
I used my new SU Embossed Tulip embossing folder. Then stamped the flowers from the Just Believe set.
Layered this onto a piece of soft suede.
Stamped the sentiment then cut it out with a s/binder tag die.
Popped up the sentiment, added some pearls, and there you have it, and fairly simple card.
I also did one in soft green, sorry didn't take a picture of that one, but again it was pretty.
card size : 4 1/2 x 5 1/2
paper: cream and soft suede
Ink: frayed burlap
Thanks for dropping by, enjoy your weekend.

Pixie in a circle
Here we are again for another Bellariffic friday challenge. This weeks challenge was a 'circle card' - some probably liked it, some not, but I was okay with it. That's what it's all about - a challenge, right?
I finally got my new release stamps this week, sooooooo excited about that. I was so overwhelmed I sat there Monday night and just looked at them, didn't even color anything that night. I think this was one of Emily's best releases. So much yumminess! (hehe)
Okay on with the card. I picked one of the Pixie's to color up. These Pixie's come in a set of 4. I think this one is my favorite!
What I did for this card, I kind of work backwards than my usual way of coloring firs, then make the card. I wanted the card to be bigger than what the s/binder dies can cut, so got out my Cricut machine (poor thing has been neglected) and cut a 5" circle out of the green c/s. The next layer is 2 pieces of white c/s cut with my lacey circle s/binder dies and then just overlapped them.
DP paper is Basic Grey - Pheobe collection, as is the pink scallop layer.
Then comes the image. Stamped her using black memento ink on bella's bestest paper. Colored her with prisma color pencils and blended with gamsol. Added some blue shading around her, then after she was cut out, left the die in place and sponged some pixie pink versamagic ink around her. Tied the ribbon with my trusty little bow maker, then snipped a small flower of a string of lace I had and glued it to the center, then added a small green rhinestone. Finished off with some glitter on the pixie's wings and on the dots on her dress.
Isn't she just the cutest?
Next weeks challenge is a sketch done by Ebru - our Video Babe! I love this sketch (see below), and think you will to. Hope you get a chance to play along with us babes, if so, email your card to Emily by thursday night. Not only will your card be posted on Bloggabella for all to see, but you also get a chance to win some bella bucks!
Well ladies, I'm off work today, have some errands this morning to do, then plan on working on cards this afternoon.
Thanks for dropping by, have a great weekend!

Birthday card #2
I'm back today with another birthday card to show you. This card will make it's home somewhere over in England.
I'm using an image from Stamping Bella called Imeldabella.
Stamped Imedladbella on bella's bestest paper and colored her up using my prismacolor pencils and gamsol. Based my coloring on this paper I found in my scrap bin from We R Memory Keepers called Precious Metal (2007). After colouring I cut her out using s/binder die #14, then layered her onto a piece of light aqua c/s which was cut with s/binder die #4.
Finishing touches - glitter, ribbon and brown pearls.
See you on Friday with my challenge card.
Thanks for stopping by.

Bella birthday cards
I was asked by a co-worker if I would do up 3 birthday cards for her to take over to England when she goes in a couple of weeks. She said they were for teenagers, so how perfect I thought, I can do up some bella images. So this week I will share with you the cards I did up for her.
Todays card I'm using Curly Supriseabella. This is one of the older Bella's. I've had her for a long time and this is the first time I've colored her up.
As usual I stamped her on bella's bestest paper and colored her with primsacolor pencils and blended with gamsol (oms). The DP is from my scrap bin, I think it is Cosmo Cricket - Girl Friday line. The border punch I used is from Stampin Up.
Finished her off with some stitching, glitter, and some ribbon.
Don't forget about our challenge this friday. It's a circle card - you have lots of time, so lets see what you come up with. Email your creation to Emily by thursday night.
I'll be back on Wednesday with another birthday card.
See you soon,
Pauline

Love is in the air...
Yeah! Friday again! It's been a very long week for me for some reason, so I'm glad it's finally friday.
This weeks challenge theme was Valentines. With that in mind I decided to color up a chi chi image called Eloise and her Heart Basket.
I stamped Eloise on to bella's bestest paper with black memento and colored her with my Caran d'ache pencils and blended with gamsol (OMS). After cutting her out I left the die in place and sponged some versamagic wheat ink around the edge then went over it with some pixie pink. I based my coloring from the colors in this piece of paper from K & Company- Wild Raspberry collection - yes this is the same paper collection I used on yesterdays card. It was still sitting here on my desk so leafed through and found this piece.
I added a piece of may's art lace ribbon across the middle. Isn't this pretty lace- almost didn't want to cut into it, but I did!
Finished up with some glitter on Eloise's dress.
Next weeks challenge is a circle card. If you would like to play along with us babes, email your creation to Emily@stampingbella.com by thursday night to be included in a draw for some bella bucks.
Have a great weekend all!

Tilly
Well Ol' man winter was up to his old tricks again, yep we got dumped on last night but it wasn't as bad as they had predicted, but still way too much snow for my liking. But unfortunately not enough snow to close the doors at work. Although hubs had the day off due to school closings.
Enough of the white stuff, lets get on with the card. Today, I have for you
Tilly the teacup girl. I tell you, I am just in love with these green bean baby stamps by Ellia.
I stamped Tilly onto some of bella's bestest paper and colored her up using Caran d'ache pencils and copics for the skin tones. After she was cut out with my s/binders I layered her onto some pink bazzill c/s. DP paper is K & Company called Wild Raspberry. Have had this paper for a long time - kind of forgot about it!. I used a MS border punch for the white eyelet lace. Cut a green circle then embossed it using the swiss dot embossing folder. Added some pink rhinestones to the centers of the white eyelet, mini pearls to the centers of the flowers in her hair and some glitter to the centers of the flowers on the teacup. Now doesn't that look like I could of whipped this card up quickly, well I gotta tell you it took me a couple of hours just figuring out a layout! I seem to struggle with that the most. Oh well!
I hope you can join us for this weeks bellariffic challenge. If you do get a chance our theme this week is Valentines. Email your card to Emily by thursday night to be included in this weeks draw for some bella bucks!
See you friday - I don't have my challenge card done yet, I guess that is tonights project.
Thanks for stopping by....
