Mr Fixit

Good morning.  Today is my son Mark's birthday.  I can't believe where the 32 years have gone. Since he bought his home  a year ago he has taken up a new hobby - wood working.  He has blow my mind on what he has created.  He has made a coffee table - gorgeous, small shelving units for the wall, and he also made their wedding card box for guests to deposit their cards at the reception.

So I was racking my brain as to what image I could use for his birthday card.  I came across an image over at Mo's Digital Pencil called Mr. Fixit. We had our family Thanksgiving on Saturday so we gave it to him then, and he loved it!  He is going to put it in a frame and place it in his workshop room.

After re-sizing the image I used prismacolour pencils to colour. I used MFT stitched rectangles  to cut out the image.

Designer paper is Basic Grey -Granola.  For the corner I used Verve's Pennant trim - I cut off 2 of the pennants, overlapped them and added a screw brad to hold them together.

Well that's it for me today.  Hope you have a wonderful day.

Pauline, what a beautiful card for Mark. I can see why he would want to frame this and put it in his workshop. It is the perfect image for Mark. The detail in your colouring is supberb. Love the little flags in the corner to finish it off. It is a great masculine card. I am sure when he is in his workshop, it will inspire him to "fix" things.

Perfect! And so cute! I know he loved it. I can just see it hanging in his work room. If I was a guy I'd probably do woodworking. Lots of guys stamp, though, and lots of gals do woodworking. Love the screw brad and pennants and you KNOW I'm always in awe of your Prismacoloring. I haven't had mine out for a while. I've had lots of cards to make and not much time. Whenever I use the Prismas or watercolors it takes extra time. It depends on the image, of course. Actually, I'm just slow. Copic coloring takes me a long time, too. Oh, well. Having stormy weather today and I hope to stamp seeing as how it's my only day home this week.

Perfect for your carpenter. Woodworking is a very handy talent. I'm sure this will be displayed up front and center in his shop. Hugs!

Oh, Pauline! You do not look old enough to have a 32-year-old son! No way! I love your new photo, and you look gorgeous! Well, who cool that he is into woodworking. My DH is as well, and what a perfect image! I absolutely love your coloring, and what a great layout! Love the DP, and I love the little Verve pennants. I almost bought that die recently...next time. Anyway, what a wonderful card to frame, and he is going to cherish it! You are amazing, my friend! Hugs! xoxo

Tell me about it... the twins are only 15 and I can't figure out where the time has gone. This is super fun and I am sure he will love it!
