A wintery blast and a card

Oh my, ole' man winter has struck again.  Very high winds, cold temps, blowing and drifting snow, road closures you name it we have it!! I heard something banging against the side of the house in the night and this morning looked out and there is a piece of siding ripped off and was hanging, so out we went and try to fix it.  Bill put a couple of screws to hold in place until the spring when we can replace it. Temps are -6C with windchill -16 today but colder temps start again on Sunday until Thursday again with temps down to -25C. How many more days till Spring?? This has been one of the worst winters we have had in a very long time.  There seems to be no end to it.

Okay, so lets get to my card.  I told you how much I loved the Spellbinder Tapestry die.  Well here is another card showcasing this die.

I started with my base measuring 6.25 x 4.5 in cream card stock. The tapestry layer was cut from SU Blush Blossom.  Love the softness of this colour. I stamped the image from Justrite -With Sympathy (purchased at Paper Pickle) using memento desert sand, then colouring it using prismacolour pencils.  I stamped the sentiment over the image using Rich Cocoa Memento, using my stamp positioner to line it up.
I used Spellbinders Labels Twenty-Eight to cut out the image.

Finished off with a prima flower.

I'm off to battle the elements, need to pick up some groceries.  Thanks for the visit, have a wonderful day.

I love the beautiful soft and gentle look of your card, Pauline. Perfect for a sympathy card. I had the tapestry die bought for Christmas, and as yet I haven't had a chance to use it. But it looks really lovely on your card.

As for the weather.....so sorry that you're experiencing winter storms again and that your home has been damaged. It's also terrible here. Today we have gales and rain causing flooding in many parts of the UK. This has been our worst winter for over fifty years. Many people are still unable to move back into their homes since the last floods three weeks ago. We have damage to our property from the gales, and like you we have just had to do temporary repairs until the better weather.....if it ever arrives!
Enjoy a lovely weekend! xx

I LOVE the softness of the image. It looks so beautiful with the sentiment stamped over it. Next trip to the craft store I have to get some Desert Sand. Your coloring always blows me away and I love to see it. We aren't having much of a winter here and I'm actually starting to worry about it a little. It was in the 70' yesterday and looks like the same again today. No rain. We should be having a lot of rain. Lawns are actually turning brown. I may have to water the garden. At this point I almost won't mind if it rains all summer. Our whole ecosystem depends on our annual rainfall.

That die really is lovely and the soft blush pink color is so soothing. Another beautifully composed card from you Pauline. :-) Your Arctic blast has made it down here to me on the Gulf Coast. You can have it back. LOL Hugs!
