Wedding wishes # 1

Today, I have a wedding card to share with you.  I had a request from one of my co-worker's for an upcoming wedding her parents are attending. Well you know how much I love to make wedding cards, - all the flowers, pearls, glitter and just overall pretty stuff.

Here is my card:

Not much explaining on this one.  I did use one of my new Sizzix Tim Holtz Thinlits #661185 to cut out the corner doily pattern which you can see on my top layer of my card. What a beautiful die cut.  There are 2 others in the set as well. I then layered my die cut piece over a piece of grout grey c/s cut the same size.

I then stamped my sentiment onto some grout grey using versafine smokey grey and then cut it out using a die from one of the MFT die-namic blueprint sets.  From here I built my layers of trailing flowers.

To finish off I added some pearls and glitter on the flowers using my quickie glue pen and then sprinkling glitter over it.  Very subtle but just adds that little bit of sparkle.

Supplies:
paper - Prima - sunrise sunset, MFT grout grey, bazzill light pink, cougar white
stamp - PTI - propose a toast
ink - versafine - smokey grey
die - Sizzix Tim Holtz Alterations Thinlits # 661185, creative expressions (sue wilson) finishing touches -lace edged leaves, MFT - die-namic blueprint #5
misc- tulle, prima flowers, wild orchid craft flowers, pearls, glitter.

While I was on a role with this card, I did make another which I'm saving for another post.

Thanks for your visit today, have a wonderful weekend!

Seeds of Today

Hello everyone! Well I'm back again - sorry it's been a while.  I really struggled this time trying to get back at stamping.  Usually after a couple of weeks I'm raring to get back at it, as much as I wanted to I just couldn't get into the groove.

So Thursday night I forced myself to colour something. I printed a couple of digital images from Power Poppy and began to colour.  I eventually finished a card on Sunday morning, so today I will share that with you.

I'm using Power Poppy digital image called 'Seeds of Today".  I am also going to enter this into their challenge for the month of January.

Before I printed this digi off, I added a sentiment from 'winter pick-me up'.  Once coloured using prisma colour pencils I cut out the image use a scallop die from MFT.

Papers used are from Kaisercraft - Charlotte's Dream.  Along side the chocolate brown I added a strip of gold/copper coloured glitter ritz paper just for some added interest.

I finished off with some seam binding ribbon, and glitter on the flowers.

Supplies:
stamp - Power Poppy digital image - Seeds of Today
ink - prismacolour pencils & gamsol
paper - white cougar, SU watermelon wonder, PTI - chocolate
die - MFT - stitched mini scallop
misc - seam binding ribbon, hero arts glitter, quickie glue pen

I just finished another card last night, so will be back soon to share that with you.

I hope you have a wonderful day! It's my Flex Monday off - lots of errands to run, but hope to get some more card making in.

Thanks for your visit, always appreciated.

Happy Crabapple

Good morning everyone!  It seems like forever since I posted.  I did not work on any cards over the Holidays, and then I had a hard time getting back at it this weekend.  Although I did manage to create a card.  I saw over on Power Poppy's blog the theme challenge for this week is "Winter Blooms". Well this is right up my alley, because I love flowers. So that kind of inspired me to get creating.

Today, I'm using Happy Crabapple from Power Poppy.  I am also going to enter this into the challenge this month.

This was a quick card, will probably make more of these.  I started with a 5.5 x 4.25 which card stock and sponged distress inks in the corners - spiced marmalade, fossilized amber, wild honey and a bit of picked raspberry.  I then used my Misti to stamp the images.  I'm glad I decided to use the Misti because the first impression stamp was a bit faint.  I then cut this out using the scallop edge die from MFT die-namics blueprints #27.

I then used the prismacolour pencils in the same tones as the ink to add colour to the image. I added some sparkle to the blossoms using clear wink of stella pen.

For the sentiment I used Simon Says stitched banners die and PTI simple little things for the sentiment.  Stamped in versamark then white embossed.  I added some foam tape behind the sentiment to pop it off the card.  I then added some sequins to finish this off.

Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you have a wonderful day.  Another snow storm heading our way overnight, with snow, turning to rain, turn back to snow, possibly freezing rain - quite a mess!

Ringing in 2017

Good morning and a Happy New Year to all!  I hope everyone had a good Christmas.  I was off work all last week, which was so nice to have the time off after a busy Nov & Dec at work.  A much needed rest.  With that being said, no cards were made.  I think I just needed to take some time for some R & R with the family.

Twice last week we went down to Ojibway Park in Windsor (about 50 min drive) to see if we could see any deer and birds.  We lucked out on both accounts.  Today I have some pictures to share with you from our outings.

You can click on the pictures for a closer look, enjoy!

white tail deer,  they will eat right out of your hand, so friendly,

As we were walking around the back side of the park, I heard this bird call, but wasn't sure what it was at that moment.  Bill was a few steps ahead of me, so called him back to where I heard the sound, in the thickets against a tree trunk, Bill spotted  a Carolina Wren.  Never thought we would see these in the winter time. There ended up being two of them.  We  spend over an hour taking pictures of these beauties.

As you know we are bird lovers, so our backyard has many feeders.  The good thing is that it attracts a variety of birds, the bad part is it also attracts Hawks to our backyard.  We have had cooper hawks and sharp shinned.  Bill was able to photograph a Sharp-shinned hawk sitting up in our cedars after he devoured his lunch (a small bird - so sad).

Lastly, on Christmas Day, Mark, Anna and the boys along with their pet dog "Snoopy" also know as 'Snoops" were down for the day.  Bill captured  the sweet face of Snoops as she was sitting so quietly overlooking the puzzle called 'finding Waldo'.  Hence, then caption on the picture!  Bill always comes up with some pretty cool captions.

Well, that's it for today.  I hope you enjoy the pictures.  Not sure what is in store for us today, maybe another outing somewhere.   Enjoy your day.  Wishing everyone a wonderful 2017, filled with good health, prosperity, love and lots of stamping!
