First official Bella post

This is it ladies, my first official Stamping Bella DT post.  I think I am still on cloud nine from the news yesterday.  How exciting was all that, not one new Babarooni but three! So last night the Babes were emailing back and forth, finding out about each other, and doing some chit chat,  it was a blast!

So onto my card.  I've had several requests from co-workers on needing a card for 'expectant mothers" so I decided to color up Pregabella. I stamped her on
Bella's Bestest paper with black memento ink.  I found this piece of DP in my scrap box (I never throw anything away!)and thought it would work perfectly, so that was my inspiration for the colors I chose to color her with. She was colored with pencils and gamsol.  I wanted to use the sentiment "you glow girl" on my card.  I played around with some different dies and chose to use a ribbon tag nestie.  I finished her off with some oyster baubles in the corners, dark brown satin ribbon, some stitching and a tiny bit of glitter for that bit of 'glow' expectant moms have!

Well that's it for today ladies. Back later in the week with another card.

Just a reminder, this weeks theme for bellarific friday is animals.  Although the DT challenge is over, there were so many awesome submissions for that event, lets try to continue with as many if not more on a regular basis,  so if you would like to participate, please email your card to Emily by thursday night. Oh and don't forget Tantilizing Toosday- some great deals ladies.

Exciting News...

I just wanted to share some exciting news today. I came home from work  and opened my email.  There was an  email from Emily saying -WooHoo lookie at our new group.  So headed right over to Bloggabella, slowly scrowling down to see if I made the team-  there wasn't one winner but 3.  Yes, I made the team along with Cathy and Wendy (congrats ladies).  WooHoo!!!! How exciting is this?!  I feel so honored to be a part of this amazing team!

I've already been busy, and added the Stamping Bella logo and all the Bella Babes to my sidebar!

I've got a busy week ahead of me, but I do have this weeks challenge card done. If  you would like to play along, this weeks theme is "animal" - whether it be a stamp or paper.  Please send your entry to emily@stampingbella.com by Thursday night, if you happen to be a lucky winner, you will win some Bella Bucks! and who couldn't use some of that!

Have a wonderful week!

Finally Submission.....

to the Stamping Bella DT challenge.  I can't believe this is it, my final chance to give it my all!
So today I share with you - Peony Bittybloom.

Isn't she adorable! I love how she turned out. I stamped Peony on Bella's Bestest Paper with Black Memento ink.  I visioned her colored in mauves and wanted to use some of the Basic Grey Wisteria paper that I have been hoarding!! I have a serious problem with the hoarding thing, I have to break out of that habit. LOL!

Okay back to the card.  I colored her with Prismacolor pencils and gamsol. I did the skin tones using Copics E000, E00, E01 and E11. Used nestie labels #13 to cut her out.  The dark layer under the image is actually dark purple, but looks black in picture (hmmm!). Next I added some grass under her feet. (still need lots of practice on the grass!).  I used a Martha Stewart Pansy border punch, thought it went really well with my papers. Added glitter to her dress and center of her flower (hat).  Finished it off with some stitching and an organza baby blue bow!

Well how is that for my finale!

Have a great weekend!

SweetPea

Seems like forevah since I posted, so thought I was due for one.  I'm using a stamp set I've had for quite a while from There She Goes  called Sweetpea.   I just love how this turned out.  This is my second take, the first one I colored  a completely different color, just couldn't seem to make it work, so pitched it and did this one.

I stamped the image with Black Memento and colored with Copics.  I don't use my copics as often as I should, I find I have  better control on the blending/shading  with pencils.  Anyhoo, Copic colors I used are R000, R00, R20, R21, R22, YG03, and shaded a bit with Prismacolor pencil - Carmine Red #926.
I haven't used my Labels 10 Nesties yet, so pulled them out for this card.  After cutting I left the die on and  sponged antique linen around image as well as on the second layer.  Pattern paper is from Basic Grey- Green at Heart.  Ribbon is from Papertrey- I love their ribbons! Finished off by stitching around the layers, popped up the image using deminsionals, added glitter to the flowers.  The scallop part of the die looked bare so added pearls.  So what do you think, do you like it?

Well it's getting late and morining comes early. I'll be back on friday to share with you my last entry for the Stamping Bella DT challenge.  I can't wait to show you - I love it! (grin!)

SPOOOOOKY!!!!!

Well it won't be long and Halloween will be upon us, (I'm not rushing the summer, but I can't believe we are heading into the later part of August all ready) All those cute witches and goblins running from door to door for their treats.  I'm not big into Halloween but I have a friend who absolutely goes all out for it, from decorations, to haunting sounds, and the candy bowl that grabs your hand when you reach for that candy, and says different spooooky sayings,  how do I know? because it happened to me! It scares the hebbie jebbies out of you!

I thought for this weeks Stamping Bella DT Challenge I would do up Spooooky Stella. I thought she would fit perfectly inside the triangle of this weeks layout. I stamped her with Black Memento and colored with prismacolor pencils and gamsol. The pattern paper is from last years Basic Grey Eerie 6 x 6 pk. I finished the card with some stitching around the outside edge and adding glitter to the image.

Have a wonderful weekend and thanks for peeking into my cupboard today!

Another House Mouse Card

Happy Wednesday!  Today I'm back with another House Mouse image to share  with you.  These are fun images to color. I made this card for a friend who loves House Mouse images.

Here are the deets for my card: I started by stamping the image with Black Memento, and colored with prismacolor pencils and gamsol. I used labels #5 to cut out the image and labels #9 for the turquoise layer behind.  I also used Martha Stewart border punch, and a Pierceabilities border.  Finished it up with some papertrey pink satin ribbon.
Did you notice that I even did some stitching around my card with my sewing machine? I like the look it gives, just kind of finishes off the card.

I'll be back on friday with my next entry for the Stamping Bella DT Challenge.  Hope to see you then!

Hot Lazy day....

I tell you it is stinkin hot here in SW Ontario today, 90F but with the humidex it feels like 109 F.  So how would you cool off on a hot day like today? Well how about like this :

I looked out the kitchen window this morning while getting my cup of java, and saw this cute bunny (well not so cute when he is nibbling on your plants and such) hopping onto our driveway, and decided to sprawl out on the cool gravel.
He laid there for quite a while.  He is usually always hopping here and there in the yard, but I've never seen him chillaxin like this.  So cute, just had to share with you today.

Today I'm using an image from Sugar Nellie.  I colored her with prismacolor pencils and gamsol. I sponged Wheat Versamagic around the image.  Pattern paper is Basic Grey Two Scoops and the flowers are from my stash (huge stash!).  Sentiment is from SU.  I added some glitter to the flowers and used a clear glazed pen for the heart.

Well that's it for today.  Thanks for stopping by.

Another challenge card

It's Friday and you know what that means - another Stamping Bella DT challenge card! This weeks challenge is Bling, so anything that glitters, shines, sparkles, well you get the picture.
I decided to do allboxedup-ABELLA.I stamped her off on Bella's bestest paper using black memento.  Colored with prismacolor pencils and gamsol.  Papers are from MME - Pretty Papers, and I just realized this is the same family of papers I used in last weeks challenge, see I told you I love this paper! I used my nesties to cut her out, added some Bella Glitter Dots and Baubles, lots of glitter on the presents and tiny rhinestones on the bows of the presents. Well how is that for Bling?

Sooooo glad it's Friday, only 1/2 day of work for me today- love getting a jump start on the weekend. That's all for today, have a great weekend, see you back here soon.

You're Tea-riffic

Hi Everyone! Hope everyone had a great weekend.  I spent Saturday in Novi MI, at the Heirloom Rubber Stamping show.  What great fun we all had.  I went with my friend Lynn and met up with Lindabella, Paulabella, Mary, Kathy, and met Paula's friend Cathy (Hi Cathy!), she is such a wonderful gal.  Bought way too much stuff as usual, so hope to share some of my new goodies in up coming posts.

Anyhoo, on with my card. For today's card I am using one of the many House Mouse images I have.  I stamped the mouse using black memento and colored with Prismacolor pencils and gamsol.
The sentiment is from Stamping Bella as well as the baubles.  Pattern paper is from the Basic Grey Two Scoops 6x6 pad. I used my nifty bow maker to make the perfect bow (love this little gadget!) and I even did a bit of stitching on the card as well!

That's it for today folks.... back later this week with my next Stamping Bella challenge card.

Mavis has a Daisy

Hi Everyone... Today I want to share with you a card I did for Stamping Bella's DT Challenge.  Did you know Emily is looking for another "Babe" to join her team? The challenge this week is Paper Piecing. So without further ado here is Mavis:

What do you think? Isn't she cute? I stamped her in Black Memento and colored her with Prismacolor pencils and gamsol.  The paper I used for the card and to piece her dress and flower in her hair is by My Minds Eye - Pretty Please line.  I love this paper, so soft and such pretty colors.  I finished her off by adding glitter to her flower and some clear baubles.

So glad today is Friday, because tomorrow I'm heading to Novi MI, for the Heirloom Stamping Convention.  I'm going with my BFF Lynn, Linda, Kathy, Paula and Mary. Oh what fun we will have.  No plans to buy anything in particular but I'm sure I will come home with lots.

Have a great weekend everyone!

My First Post

Hi and welcome to my blog.  I always said I would never do a blog, but as the saying goes "Never say never"!  With a bit of encouragement  from friends I've decided to start one. I'm still a little hesitant about the whole thing, so we will see.  I don't know how often I will post, but never the less I hope you find some inspiration when you peek into my cupboard.

I colored up this image on the weekend for a friends brothers birthday- who just happens to be a farmer.  The image is called "The Big Guy's Garden" from
Stamping Bella. I was so excited to see these 'guy' images, since I don't have very many.  I stamped him in Black Memento Ink and colored with Prismacolor pencils and gamsol.  I added the picket fence (Martha Stewart border punch) along the bottom to give it the kind of country/farm feeling.

The inspiration for the colors I used to color came from this Basic Grey Granola line.  I finished the card off by adding a couple of red brads and some twine.

Well that's it peeps for my first post.  Hope to see you again soon.
